  1. Attempt number 1 of....how many?!
  2. Righto!I've named all the various photos taken today, and they're right to go...Except they're all too "big".Anyone got some suggestions for a compu' dork to compress them before I go and attempt to post them up(note:attempt...)Oh,yes:is everyone OK that I haven't had time to "blank out" their numberplates?Any one who'd rather NOT see their 'plates(or even car)across cyberspace, drop me a line and I'll change things.Or PM me your email address if you want these forwarded on.Once I've worked out how to get these piccies small enough,I'll put my car on as a trial post... Top day all round!J
  3. To those with little faith...HA!Bloody Bureau Of Meteorolgy:it's 7.23 a.m.,and the sun is out!Not a cloud in the sky!!12 o'clock?Bring it on!!
  4. Everyone pay attention to what Terminal has to say!!There's a positive in every negative!I've just finished going over my ride in time to hide it from the rain, but if worse comes to worse tomorrow,we can all get those cool water beading shots mentioned! Then you can at least tick that scenario off the list of photo oppertunities...
  5. I'm gunning for 350 awkw;HKS 2530's,cams,gears,rods + pistons,sump,cooler(oil),fuel system,injectors etc etc...and,yeah,the HKS headers ARE nicely made!I'm just wondering if they're worth it...
  6. Has anyone got any info' 'bout HKS stainless steel exhaust manifolds(or extractors to some of us)?A mate has offered me his(off an R32 to fit my R32-I already know it'll fit...)as he's going for a big single conversion. They're stainless steel, bugger all use, with a weird "balancer" pipe linking the merge pipes of the 1st 3 cylinders to the merge pipe of the back 3 cylinders(those who know what I'm on about will not ask for a "smarter" description,I'm sure).Said balancer pipe also has a heat expander joint in the middle... These wont be going straight on,as I'll be doing it in one go whilst my engine is out being rebuilt-as in:not yet!The reason I ask is that I was planning on looking into something similar in the future, but these have been offered to me now,and I'm not sure I want to lash out without knowing more. His "old" engine was in very similar trim to where mine will wind up,so I figure they work...Apparently,they're about $4100 new(eeep!),and he wants $2k for 'em now. Anyone running 'em?Ideas on pricing?Whilst he's a mate,I'm guilty of being gullible at times...
  7. Ummm...should we still stick to the 12 o'clock meeting point(the Flags)as we've all been on about for the last 3 weeks?Only that we may trip up a few people if we change it to 1.Then we can Barby/eat/tell stories before doing misd arvo' photos?
  8. Quite interested to see said Chaser!Even if it isn't a 'Line!
  9. Back to the photo shoot:here's a heads-up for anyone wanting to take photos this weekend that aren't as knowledgable as gtir_94(not a p##s-take-his photos came out pretty good,I reckon):go and get the current issue of SPEED magazine. In the middle there's a section all about do's and don'ts of photo taking when it comes to cars...penned by some of the good mag' phtographers themselves.Might help us out a bit,I guess. And as for lowlife thieving scumbags, maybe as a friendly gesture, when we're standing next to someone we don't know by face looking at various cars, introduce yourself!I pretty sure we all have a grasp on SAU nicknames/names/"handles".Not only will we be able to say "G'day" personally to people we only know in cyber-Skyline-space,but it might just spook off these idiots if we meet 'em face to face..."I'm LTS Jayce;and you are...?"
  10. Nah-had to work,so I'd only just got down to the Bay when we saw each other... 'pparently the show was pretty average(right,Johnnyr31?)unless you were a V8 old school nut... Having said that,my wife and her friend entered their two Forester GT Scoobies for a laugh-with the friend taking out top wagon. And my mate entered his VL Turbo:took out top 6 cylinder forced induction with a "gentle" run.(Note to self:get off work for next year and show 'em why the car was nicknamed Godzilla...) Still, got to find out what the talk is about GTR's going well in the wet on the trip down and back(also ruined super detailing job...)
  11. Sweet! To quote some the sphincter of the universe from some dud reality TV:"Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' ABOUT!"Keep us all in the loop with this one,A.-it'd be a great thing if it all goes down OK! And gtir_94 and anyone else thinking the same bad thoughts:I hear where you're coming from-I was paranoid about getting defected(until I changed a few things...),but while I was rolling around with an immensley defectable car at one point,I really did find that it's how you drive your car,how it's presented AND how to check any attitude at the door IF(in my case WHEN) you got pulled up...Sunday is going to be a bunch of cool people(or whatever you want to call it)getting together to "quietly" enjoy their car club.I agree with Aurora:we'll be OK! Oh;the reason my car has become "more legal"?'Cuase there's plans for it that'll mean I need as much stuff to be legal to drag away any attention from how much work has been done...I'm trying for big performance but street legal all in one package-it can be done,oh yes! Then if the Rozzers/Funstoppers/boys-n-gals-in-blue decide that they want to go to town,I've got nothing to sweat about!
  12. Geez,I'm having a shocker!First I call Aurora's car the wrong colour, then I "spot" your car as an R33... Yep,the R32 GTR was me:waiting for the rest of my crew to get back from Moruya's car show...bloody boring sitting in the middle of The Bay's main street on dusk...Still,you were the only one to wave g'day and only one of three other 'Lines I saw the whole time down the coast!Cheers, dude!
  13. Really?Damned old age must be setting in....I guess as long as it's not fluro pink!
  14. No,E.'s is that cool dark blue/green '33 colour;this car was definately black.Besides as far as I know, there's still "Wombat issues" with E.'s R33(not deliberately rubbing this in,Ewan!).
  15. Ah,that'd be me,then!Just got back from miserable rained-out run down the coast, and was about to post 'bout spotting my first ever Stagea in the flesh(or would that be in the metal, plastic and rubber?!)-I was wondering if it'd be "one of us"!Stagea?Sweeeet....coming to the photoshoot? Also spotted one of our SAU A.C.T. gang whilst I sat in the main street of "the Bay" waiting for my other car friend to get back from the South Coast Nationals car show last night.Waved, and got a friendly wave right back from a black R33 with the SAU sticker on the side windows:i'm crap on the memory side of things-I know it's one of "our" cars, but I can't remember who...
  16. HA!Couldn't agree more!Reckon Ed will go for it?Or,by promoting alcohol comsumption in the workplace, will we start to notice cams being placed in backwards, seats going in sideways etc etc...!!
  17. Another possible location:lined up somewhere along Anzac Parade(the long,often-used-as-illegal-dragstrip road running down from the War Memorial to Parkes Way)?Shoot photies in both directions, depending on light-towards the Memorial and Mt. Ainslie,or towards new and old Bulls#*t Places...err...Parliament Houses.Or lined up outside the fence next to the Airport(the road that goes out to Qbn.,not the "long shot" from Majura Rd) as planes fly in/out?At the old disused dragstrip?Natex/E.P.I.C. somewhere?Ah,the possibilities...
  18. I'm(occasionally) in a pearl white R32 GTR...that used to make a LOT of noise(it's since been neutered...sob)-I'm sure your husband would remember our little run!Hopefully my little beastie will never need to do the daily Monaro demolition derby!
  19. Understandable that I couldn't be understood!!Jeez,I have trouble working out what I'm saying, half the time LOL! (Cue suspense/thriller voice-over dude)"Later that day..."spotted Amaru cruising away from work. This time I waved but wasn't recognised as I was in my WRC-spec Subaru(read:1993 Liberty STOCKER...).Then spotted him YET AGAIN hanging out at THE place to get a Skyline tuned at... Sheesh!Anyone would think we're stalking each other...(we aren't,are we?!?).Ah,the charges wouldn't stick, anyway!!
  20. Hiya!Glad you dropped in!Sooo...you're the lucky (half?) recipient of the lime 33?Congrats!The old owner and I had a bit of a drag a while ago-yours goes pretty well!Off memory,it was about to get serious when we ran out of road! Are you in Jerra?Anyway, good to have another 'Line here!Cheers!
  21. Well, being that it was me that started this thread,I'd just like to say a big "Thanks!" to everyone who has posted so far...Aside from one or two customers(can't seem to keep everyone happy in any form of retail...),it's all good.So my GT2530's are ordered, paid for and I'm watching the EMS tracking number like a pimp watches his favorite...uhh...like a Hawk is what Im getting at!Dealing with Brent @ Nengun was soooo easy;gotta recommend Nengun to anyone that'll listen! They'll being scoring more of my hard-earned before my 'Line is near completion!!
  22. Whilst this is off topic...Definately not the KAM Rex-it had a rear ender of some sort-saw it come past my work on Saturday morn' on the back of a truck.Pity-it's a good looking ScoobieRoo! Whatever it was on(in?!)that roundabout on Friday night,it was FRIED...I thought it was something like a Daewoo/now-Deadwoo... as for anyone inside...oooooh,I'd hate to imagine!Yuk!
  23. Yup!I also spotted many a 'Line tonight:a very keen,driver-was-waving black 32(I'm reliably informed by Amaru and Aurora it was probably Sterlo),plus some 33's.Plus I was happy to cruise home with SxyGTST(I'm almost sure I got that messed up!)-good night with minimal hassles from the funstoppers! P.S. Saw the end result of a HUGE one car prang at the roundabout of Kings Way/Parkes Way(Russell offices)...damned if someone didn't miss their braking point...
  24. Straight up-go to Audiotech at Tuggeranong:I just got my R32 back from Tony and his crew-ABSO-FRICKIN'-LUTELY top notch job!!Can't recommend them highly enough!!Tell them I sent ya!!And if you're doubtful, check my car out on the photoshoot weekend!!
