I can fit 80 litres in the boot of the 33, and a further 50 litres in the foot wells behind the front seats. I can definitely carry enough, it's just trying to work out how much I'll need SAFELY, I'm thinking I'll need about 120 Litres to make it safely.

Is it really that hard to talk to your builder before purchasing the parts? All this fluffing on the internet about how you're gonna buy this first before speaking to your builder is stupid. Telling the builder that you're buying this and this and he recommends that X part should be substituted with Y part and you'll make it 10 times more reliable is worth a 10 minute conversation on the phone, as well as potentially saving your hip pocket. Racepace has built hundreds of engines in the past, they're track record is impeccable when it comes to engines. If you're gonna start building engines against a builders recommendation, you're going to find it hard to claim any sort of warranty if something goes wrong.

You're gonna hate -9s on a 2.6 then! Had some kid try to be hektik in his stock GTST giving those little pulls next to me today at 80kmh. I geared down to 3rd and put the foot down, I basically just coasted away making small amounts of boost, it wasn't very impressive I must admit. That's with -7s as well!
-
Yeah just did some looking up on that and you're right. Shouldn't be the problem really and I'm pretty sure its BKR6E that we use not BCPR6E. Looks like I'm going to have to just keep throwing parts at it, hard one to diagnose on the dyno as you have to leave it on overnight, check it in the morning on a cold engine and you have to know what sensors SHOULD be doing what at what temperature, and hope that you notice one of them change suddenly and more drastically. Even though all the other ones will change at the same time too.
-
You might be right, truth be told it was just what came off the top of my head. Now I'm not sure which one. Regardless though whichever one it is its worked on countless cars so it SHOULD be fine in mine, it's the right plug for RB and E85 anyway..
-
Well I got a second hand one with the car when I bought it so I'm gonna assume he changed it for a new one (coolant temp sensor). New BKR6E gapped to .08 Splitfire coilpacks New coilpack loom AFMs just changed for another set O2s new
-
Yeah I've got two new O2 sensors. Car has always been a pig to drive until it got to about 1/5th on the water temp gauge then all of a sudden it goes into a different map and drives as if its come onto boost. Did it on standard ecu and now Nistune. So I'm a little concerned it might be the very expensive ignitor as most other things have been changed. Still makes a lot of power though :\ Realistically haven't got much different fuel economy from Tuned E85 to stock ECU on 98/100. So somethings definitely causing fuel to get raped in the first 5 minutes of driving more than it should.. Edit: To clarify I'm managing about 250kms daily driving, probably could get more but I'm not keen on finding out how fast the last bit of E85 disappears. This seems pretty low to me considering I don't thrash it at all.
-
Yeah I thought up to 30% less would be pretty normal, but the problem was I was only getting 300-350kms to a full tank on a standard ecu with 100 octane, wasn't very impressed with that.
-
Birds I know E85 wasn't made for Economy, but what kind of mileage are you getting around town for a full tank?
-
Have any of you guys driven to and from Winton on E85? With current economy I'm budgeting bringing a full tank of E85 and just over 100L spare to race around on and get me home... shit ain't economical!

So how many thefts/crashes have we had in here? Thefts: Ric Me Birds Crashes: Hamish's m8

If I paint myself with a bad brush and assume the worst of myself, I can interpret what I said that way sure. It's a stretch but I can see what you're getting at. What I WAS getting at was, while you say that the chinese are doing everything legitimately and it's all a media blow-up. I'm saying our richest customer being a Chinese real estate agent is telling of how many are suddenly showing up and buying property, regardless of legitimacy.
-
I'm not even going to dignify that retarded response with a proper reply. You're reading into what I said far too much.
-
Who knows really, nobody really has a source of Legitimate Illegitimate Purchases numbers hey? Our richest customer is a chinese real estate agent here in Melbourne, wonder how!
-
Are you kidding me? I go into Burwood One nowadays and every FIFTH person is an older white Australian. Three of them are obviously chinese, none speaking english, and the remaining one is usually either another asian nationality, european or south american. I know the numbers on your board don't say that Chinese are taking over property, but lets not pretend like the population hasn't significantly blown up from what it was 5+ years ago.

You've been replying to Alex with full on paragraphs... using a mobile!??!?!

You ever seen someone trip over and smash their face, stand back up with their beer still in tact in their glass?

Are you playing dumb or you do you genuinely not understand how people don't like Abbott AS A PERSON?

R34 Gtr Garrett -5 Turbo Lag, Need Advise
Borci88 replied to baicai's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I don't understand what there is to argue about though? -7s and -9s spool up a lot earlier than -5s, that's a fact. Therefore -5s ARE LAGGIER. You're interpretation of "How much lag is too much lag", might vary greatly to someone elses in this thread. At the end of the day some people say -5s are amazing, but I'd say an equal amount say "-5s are too laggy for me". Most of the time because these people only drive theirs on weekends down to the shops. While you are right that a tune can make a massive difference in response (in comparison to a SHIT tune). The size of the turbos still stop it from ever coming near the smaller turbos response time. I have driven, and continue to drive multiple different GTRs on a weekly basis, I will never recommend -5s to a customer with a STOCK motor. While they are more exciting on boost than the smaller turbos, you're not driving above 4500rpm for 99% of your driving. I also don't want to have to blast the ears of people I overtake because I needed a louder exhaust to make close to 400kw for the street. -

I think at the end of the day, the guys running standard RB26s SHOULD be aiming for -7s or -9s. It's all well and good to say how much better -5s are and how they're not laggy on the street (which they are lets be real), but at the end of the day a stock motor is going to last a lot longer at 340kw with the smaller turbos than it is with -5s and 380kw, and they're probably gonna do the same quarter mile. If you've got a built motor and preferably a 2.8, sure, -5s are perfect... Stock motor and -5s? No thanks, I've been in built 2.6s with -5s and found them mediocre off boost. Fantastic on boost... but just not fantastic off boost, which is where most people do 90% of their driving, and no, I'm not changing my driving style to drive above 3500rpm. -
They look like drug dealers shoes

Don't you understand though Hamish? If we don't act right now and cut everything that a modern first world society needs, we're going to end up like Greece within a few years!!! Your kids kids will all be homeless!

The Tomei catback is supposed to come with a silencer in the box.

Oh, I didn't mean final inspection (is that who you thought I meant?) I meant the key doesn't stay so biuriful..
