  1. I'm interested in knowing if the death toll has dropped since implementing this law.
  2. Well there's GAS-747 and that's owned by Paul S and the original owner of BBQ-747 is on this site and his name was Brad if that rings any bells otherwise nup unfortunately don't know anyone else even with 747 plates
  3. Can't really say I do, I might know a mate or two of his but not Chris himself, did he have a VLT and have custom plates or something?
  4. Most people on this forum love speed and drifting but don't mention "on the roads" in the same sentence otherwise you'll be off to a bad start on this forum
  5. Stock as a rock original VLTs are already upping in price, saw a yellow BT1 go for 18k!
  6. I stupidly decidedly to go through a yellow light, guy sitting in the middle of the intersection assumed I wouldn't so he started to cut across (he was turning right) and realised I was still coming so he just stopped dead in the middle of my lane, brakes on VLs not so good... Live and learn, I don't risk it with yellow lights anymore and I keep my distance because when it comes down to it, chances are your brakes aren't gonna be as good as you expect them to be. Oh and this was only a 40/50kmh hit by the time I'd braked, massive kick in the roof, whole chassis twisted.
  7. Sorry I can't help you with this but all I can say is I have the same problem. With my problem it pushes you back in the seat around 2.5k and then from 3k - 5k or so it becomes a lot of noise and not much go and after that it starts to pull a lot harder. Is that like yours? I've just put in new plugs and Yellow Jacket coilpacks and it's still doing it. I think you and I might have a Vac/Boost leak somewhere..
  8. I understand that there's more compression, trust me it was straight gas turbo converted by me and a mate and took a lot of road testing to tune, I know how it worked. I'll be getting another one next year no doubt about it. Also the 3L and bigger Turbo definitely help
  9. Mine converted from NA to stock turbo FUAAARKKKK, pushed u back into the seat so hard, quicker than my 33 by far. How I miss my BBQ-747
  10. Just ending your replies with loving drifting or speeding while talking about being responsible and mature that's all Nah I'm a bit of a mixture of italian, kiwi and Aussie, no Macedonian in me. Alex is right though, I'd take a VL Turbo over a GTR, maybe not a 35, but anything else yep, VLT FTW
  11. Lols good on you but you have some strange ending sentences
  12. Yeah well "should be fine" is all good and well until it comes time to claim, best of luck for you if/when you do but don't take any chances that could end up in you having to claim. I think you're completely wrong in the ball size, if you're not covered and you hit a brand new BMW or Mercedes, who the **** cares if you're driving a 3 grand turbo or a 60 grand turbo, at the end of the day if you're denied you will still be paying $100k + out of your own pocket so it's got nothing to do with the cost of the turbo car you drive and in fact the brains of the driver who is illegally driving.
  13. As has been discussed many times on this forum, I would like to see them come to the table and repair or pay you out. Just because you have prior experience does not mean you aren't driving it illegally. I would be HAPPY if you proved me wrong and you have some sort of vicroads exemption but if not then you're dreaming. Anyone can get insurance for any car, whether they cover you once you hit public roads is another story.
  14. Dunno about that, I drove a VL Turbo illegally, that got written off and I came to my senses. Applied for an exemption and got it and bought a 33 GTS-T. Second year of Ps and I'm covered by insurance. You could say you have bigger balls than me but I hope you have pockets 20 times longer than me if you ever have an at fault accident.
  15. Up to you, please dont do what most P Platers do and buy an auto one, put in chopped ultralows with a straight through exhaust and think its straight ballin'. I'll admit I was stupid and I did many a burnout when I first got my Ps, never on main roads or anything but just learning it like most young boys do and now I've got the skyline I haven't done a single burnout. Not only because it's too clean to ruin but also because it's too expensive to fix compared to the VL
  16. I once owned a VL, it was turbo at one stage in its life, it was my first car and I bought it myself for $2800 including reg and rwc. I spent about 6k over 2 years on it getting it up to the way I wanted it. Since it was written off by an idiot I bought an N/A R33 at the start of this year and ended up buying a S2 GTS-T to replace it just over a month ago. Would I do it again? No? Would I trade in this R33 for the VL worth $2800? Anytime of the week I would. Like I said I wouldn't do it again and I would get a cheap commodore or something all over again and thrash it and build it up the way I want it and make it mine.
  17. Gotta go, someone make an offer!
  18. I was wondering if you had more money than sense, confirms it really.
  19. Hey guys got a 3.5" straight through X-Force exhaust, has had the centre muffler deleted. Is a nice louder exhaust with an awesome note to it. Price is $300 ono. Cheers.
  20. 'bout time.
  21. You might be entirely right I haven't really looked into my cooler model and all that. Still shouldnt effect whether or not you have aftermarket pipes or not though because any intercooler that isn't return flow shouldn't have any pipes that interfere in front of the turbo, unless the kit comes with a compressor housing pipe that doesn't make use of the factory hole. I would think he has an NA box though as when I went for my EPA the NA Air Box fouled on the second factory hole (closer to passenger side guard).
  22. Do you have an ash tray matey? Cheers.
  23. I did the soldering mod and worked awesome but I've noticed now that when I go over a bump whether it be really big or just slight my rear wiper will click over once and wipe the window. Still functions normally when I turn it on and off, but it has a mind of its own on bumps, I'm wondering whether I haven't plugged something else back in or whether its related to the poor soldering job I did, I wouldn't imagine so because it's on the other side? Any thoughts?? Cheers.
  24. I didn't mean return flow at all, I have a BLITZ cooler on mine and it doesn't interfere with anything, I've even put on an NA airbox (unfortunately I didn't get one when I bought the car) to pass an EPA and he didn't have a problem with it.
  25. Payment cleared yesterday, sent yesterday, received today, can't describe how impressed I am with the turn-over time. Can't wait to install them tomorrow and will hopefully (fingers crossed) be writing very positive feedback sometime this week. Cheers!!
