Wow that is high. i drive mine relativley hard and get 400km minimum. I know of people getting closer to 500. Mine only has a cat back exhaust and is in need of a service( which is happening this week) so i am expecting it to get better after that.

I also know that we loaned the Queensland police 2 HSV's the other day to trial as under cover cars. they apparantly now change cars every 6 months. i have seen the VW golf and also a mini. The do it so people do not know what to expect.

i was once told by a cop that if they were in a high speed chase they would want to be in a Holden as the stick to the road so much better. If they wanted to have a bit of "fun" they would drive the falcon.

I do think tho it is quite ironic that i am arguing Holden vs Ford in a skyline forum. But the funnier thing is the two cars that this forum is about i dont think people buy because of the size of the payload. Fpv f6 has a payload of around 540kg where as the SSV has just oer 600kg. Not bad for independent suspension. I have been in a VE commodore with the walkinshaw supercharger on it and f*ck me that was insane. It does not take much to tweak the holden ( or ford) to some amazing numbers. I will state tho that the base falcon ute ( with the optional 1 tonne suspension uprade) does carry far more than the omega ute. So i agree with you there. And it was VU when the ute first had independant rear.

Wow you are an angry little boy arent you. Aren't forums meant to be all about someones opinion. Just because you disagree with someone doesnt make them an idiot. One reason why you see a lot of tradies in falcon utes is due them being able to put an alloy tray on the back. Holden dont allow that anymore but if they did you would see the same amount of holden's out there. But wait you will disagree with this and call me an idiot as well

Funny enough i have as i trade them in all the time. Im not biased at all, i work for Holden but i dont own one. I would like to have a xr6 turbo or typhoon but after talking to a few techs who work on them i dont think i will. And nowhere did i state the the Commodore is " uber-technological". But why do Ford still use a live axle when majority of vehicles now can do the same thing but with a much better independant rear suspension. I do know that all the tech that is in the current model cars has been out in some form or another before. and that most 80's-90's jap cars had this stuff. But it is now available in mainstream cars that most people can afford. And by the tone of your reply i get a feeling that im not the only one "biased"

you could tow 2000kg with 1600kg tow package from holden as they use same bar and pickup points on the 1600kg as they do on the 2100kg. if you are going to tow just over 1600kg it will be fine. But if you are looking at 2600kg there is going to be a problem i reckon.

Yea he was told a bit of a lie there.They are max rated at 1600kg. The bar that is used is the same as the 2100kg but if you towed over 1600kg and you wanted warranty on ANYTHING we can tell if it has been towing larger loads and it will void your warranty. You might get aftermarket kits but Holden will void the warranty on the car if you fit it. They have become more anal in regards to aftermarket products, to the point of they can void the dealers dealer license. And max rating on sedan 3.6 and 6.0 is 2100kg. 3.0 is 1600kg as well.

God i wish they could tow that but the utes can only tow max 1600kg. Even tho they are on the same platform as sedan that can tow 2100kg. I like the Redline but i have to agree with the wheels comment, not a fan and i sell them lol. In regards to the brakes it is exactly the same setup as the HSV GXP so they didnt feel the need for them at rear as well. As you all know that most of the braking is done by the front. I would go Holden ( not just because i work for them) mainly because of the technology. the falcon is still basically AU underpinnings. Leaf sprung rear axle my be good for HEAVY loads but normally driving is crap, unless you like to be always on the ragged edge of control no matter what the speed. And the new Holden IQ system is SOOO easy to use. well thats my 2 cents worth
