  2. I'd go the coast road though being a truck driver its the only route I'd use and did 5 times a fortnight for years, the road has been upgraded many times which have not been updated yet on whereis imo .but this time of year is always dangerous something ive learnt ,there are alot of morons that use the same roads we do and dont care about other road user's just what they wanna do and to hell with anyone else ,this dosnt just include the speeding motorist there are alot of tourists and holiday makers out there who wanna slow and look at a view or sight see and tend to forget about whats behind them and cause accidents seen it many times my advice is to take your time take plenty rest breaks and drive carefully ,be alert we all want you to get there safely cheers Peter P.S sorry for being long winded

  7. I was going to get my HKS manifold ceramic coated after I had it honed but was advised against by both james and compition coatings as there would be a chance, how ever slight, that it might peal of the inside on the smooth surfaces but the outside no worries ,So still debating on wheather to get it done Cheers Peter

  17. Hi Cubes Sorry you are correct ,learn me for not putting on my reading glasses but I have them on now , well with that information it makes for an intresting comparsion ,I'll try listing all the figures I have now here and manifolds SS high mount..SSlow mount....RB20....RB25.....rb25 extrusion honed...HKS low mount .....hks extrusion honed 1. 150.4............175.1.........159.7....159.7............175.3.................. ...170.7....................194.8 2 234.9............164.2.........162.4....162.4............172.7.................. ...166.2....................203.4 3 169.2............175.8.........160.7....160.7............179.7.................. ...178.7....................198.7 4 176.6............140.3.........150.1....150.1............164.2.................. ...183.6....................200.3 5 160.1............143.6.........149.9....149.9............155.8.................. ...182.2....................207.8 6 180.4............145.7.........173.3....173.3............180.3.................. ...184.7....................202.8 max veration .......84.5.............24.5...........23.4.....23.4..............34.8.......... .............18.5......................13 Average .......178.6...........159.35........157.45..157.45............171.35........... .......177.81..................201.3 Well on listing all these figger's and comparing with figgers listed on the comparo thread Cubes supplied and the one's I have for the standard rb20det manifold and the figgers John had for a low mount ss manifold I beleive he might have errored on listing his manifolds with the rb25det one so here for this thread I've changed them arround as two were the same ,so you know which one's I swiched they are the sslow mount and the rb25 manifolds the rb25 reading the same as the rb20 now as I have both here now and have just measured them and can find no differances I've listed them on my finding's as the same so ner anyway makes for an intersting comparo cheers Peter
  18. Hi Cubes Thank you, Yes I know ,there for the gtr manifolds I think you'll find ,It does indicate the gains that can be had though as with the hks be4 and after in my above thread ^^^^ show's Cheers Peter

  20. Discopotato03 is correct when my hks manifold was done it honed into one of the stud holes for the turbo .As the manifold was made for the earlier t4 style of flange I had it drilled and taped for the t3 flange ,it was one of the older t4 stud holes that had been holed it was a matter of removing the turbo again and inserting a grub screw, this time an easy fix but it highlights what can happen if to much is taken out. Cheers Peter
  21. I have found it easier when removing a manifold to just undo the manifold leaving the turbo bolted on unbolt the oil and water lines and lift the manifold and turbo out together with my hks manifold I usually unbolt the engine mount under the manifold jack the engine up a little as well ,makes it a little heaver when removing but this has always worked well for me cheers Peter
  22. I post this morning in the unique autosports manifold thread which shows the b4 and after differances of flow honing a hks cast manifold cheers Peter
  23. I'd go with the extrusion hone
  24. I've found from experance that by trying to short cut doing something on an engine instead of doing it properly tends to make the job twice as long and often in the end you will have to do it anyway just waste time trying to short cut it ,but there are always exceptions to the rule good luck cheers Peter You learn as you get older "do it once do it properly "
