  1. Air box to turbo is 3.5" alloy intake pipe and the cat in brand new less than 500k's and stainless stell inside so i was told

Hi guys Just trying to get some ideas as to why the power stops so suddenly was tuned by hitman and he beleives there is an issue with power restriction beleives it to be exhaust or intake.I beleive it to be exhaust just purchased hks hiper 3.5" gtr exhaust which will be going on soon.looking for other ideas b4 next tune . Mods Are hybrid FMIC 600x300x76 HKS cams 264 hks Panel filter with CAI hks cam gears hks cast exhaust manifold hks 36mm external waste gate malpassi fuel pressure regulator Sard 550cc injectors Haltec E11V2 ecu catco 700cfm catcustom 3' front pipe with waste gate plumbed back in b4 cat garrett GT3040R spitfire coil packs Had trial tuning sprit 3" exhaust ( to be replaced with hks hiper 3.5" exhaust cheers Peter

My sons 89 model r32 had the same problem found it to be the fast idle vacuum, its under the throttle body just to the back of it .If you follow the hose that runs m your crossover pipe s the hose that runs at 90degrees from it to under the throttle body 2 bolts hold it onand an electrical connection . Once you have it off there's 4 screws hold the backing plate on ,you have to take it of and once you have you will see a black round disk that has small amounts of carbon build up on it you have to clean this of with carbie cleaner was the best i found to do it .there is a samll return spring in there be carfull not to lose this as it the return spring for the fast idle not very strong the carbon build up on the plate wont allow this spring to turn fast idle off returns it slow if at all . I found the cure on this forum if you can find it he has putures there to help you Cheers Peter

  6. update from information gained it appears 3" exhaust will not flow fast enough above 250rwkw so just bought a 3.5" cat back exhaust will fit that and then try tuning again c if that fixes the problem Cheers Peter

  11. picked up another exhaust today so put that on and hoprfully restriction gone so there for another tune session gone 3 1/2 inch hope it help Stan c u there

Well after reading all this i dont really know what to say I thought the day went terriffic I knew exactly what class i was in people were easy to approch and those i spoke to were friendly .Those who orginized things deserve an award for there efforts with the amount of cars being run on the dyno i amazed there was'nt more confussion a BIG WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED my hats of to you my only complaint is there aint enough chairs for us old guys (which i got reminded of while i was there thanks son :-)...) and my aching feet . This being the first event I've been to with sau i was impressed and will attent others Hi E_Lu-SHuN (did i spell it rite) Ya robbing me a 16rwkw I had 246.4rwkw dont forget the point i need every kw i can get :-) hurry and post ya pics there execellant by the way being drunk is no excuse . only rule i thought was missing was a big notice board saying DONT FORGET TO TURN YOUR AIRCONDITIONER OF PETER

It will make more power without the exhaust as any car will any exhaust is a restriction we did try this and it made a heap more power but that was when I was maken 238rwkw since the engine will flow exhaust gases faster with no exhaust air into and out the engine it not pinpointing where the flow hold up is but i think a newer exhaust has to be the first step as the intake side of things is suppose to be good for 450 hp well thats how it was explained to me Interlooper the bottom end is stock engine has only done around the 65000ks mark as ive had the haed of for porting bores looked brand new so it was left alone turbo is a garrett GT3040R
  18. Thought about doing trhat but it wouldn't have told me anything as anyone that drops there exhaust will make more power wheather the exhaust was restrictive or not but thanks for the suggestion Peter

Ok after a long wait car is finally up and running again although still with restriction issues will post the graph and maybe get a bit of a disscussion going on possible causes tuner is still leaning towards exhaust as it is pretty quiet the other is inlet track somewhere anyway u will see by the power curve that there is a problem I just gotta find the damn thing cheers Peter

  23. Hi satanic Did you ask Hitman about injectors he has some contacts for that sort of stuff he might be able to help you, prob be a good price too since ur getting the ecu there, I was the old guy there on Saturtday :-) Cheers Peter
