Hi John This sounds alot like the thread I did when trying to start my new engine had everything plenty fuel, new plugs, new coil packs, spark was good getting plenty air, timing was write, couldn't for the life of me figger out why it wouldn't start ,so took it to the tuner plugged in his laptop and came up with the 3bar map senser had died plugged in a new one and fired straight away .Now I know you dont have after market computer and stuff but just pointing that with all three which should allow you car to run ,it won't if a sensor has died. if it went from running one day to wont start the next I'd be looking at a sensor somewhere sorry can't be of more help than that but good luck with it Cheers Peter

Good turbo thats what I run ! -
How long has it been sitting John ? If a while try getting some aero start take the vacuum line from the fpr to the plenum of the plenum side and spray some into the plenum and see how you go ! Peter

If your gonna put a decently large turbo on it you gonna do the engine rebuilt first or afterwoods ????? MADGT4,the redline is still set for 7800rpm atm once I figgered out the top end leaning out problem I'll get the tune redone but atm in in no hurry got plenty balls once it comes on boost now, so learning how to drive it all over again . I've always been of the opinion that when the engine is tuned, at add 300rpm after it reaches max power so the old engine droped of power at 7500rpm thats why i set rev limit at 7800rpm for gear change loss.If the new engine makes power to 8000rpm I will just add 300rpm to that for rev cut ,the new engine's been built to take the rev's I beleive though I think the lifters run out of effeciancy at about 8000rpm . Cheers Peter -
The Tuner, said that he was having trouble with it running lean top end and it was something to keep my eye on but on the dyno day we just had they backed of at 5300rpm because of it .FPR is set at 45psi, computer is haltec e11v2,and from all my research ! 550cc injector will flow enough for 110hp so 6 should be good for 660hp ,Only whish I had that much.

Hi People Looking for possible causes or Idea's as to why my engine is leaning out at high rpm.It has a new nismo fuel pump 4.1l/m sard 550cc injectors, sard fuel pressure regulator at standard pressure, aftermarket fuel rail and after market high volume fuel filter and has fairly high hp.Any one got any idea's , some that have been thrown at me already are fuel pump not fast enough and the plenum ? cheers Peter

Hi Roy Yes, still useing the hks 40mm external wastegate on the hks manifold,I'm useing a hks exhaust I think its called a hypermax or something cant get my fat head far enough under the car to read it properly. I have a custom front pipe thats 3" with the external wastegate plumbed back into the exhaust just b4 a catco highflow cat the stainless steel barrel type bought it of BATMBL then its 3.5" through to the resinator and 4' to the barrel muffler Hi GoldZilla Thanks mate,my goal with this setup was in trying to get the lag time down which I think I've succeded with to an extent, which would there for bring the boost on earlier, and there would bring on the power earlier and give me a broader power base to work with. The turbo being a gt3040r is a big turbo on an rb20 at the best of times but it also has the .82 exhaust housing which I new would give me the higher end power, this is where all the porting of the head and flow honing of the cast manifold and both hot and cold sides of the turbo has helped to acheive this as it starts in positive vacume at around 2000rpm Cheers Peter

Jnr32r, Im a drag person myself wanna get my 11second pass , though I may take it to a track day as yet dont know . GTST Yeah looks pretty standard under there ceptin for the shinny bits ,its a 93 model there just the plates I got from the rta ,I had a laugh about that too,yes dash is painted black as is most of the trim barring the inserts and seats ,I went with the red and black because there are so many others out there that have gone with the tans and whites and others like beige I wanted this to look fairly standard but neat and along the lines of the car as there not a great deal of red's i got to choose from that was fairly close to the colour of the car and wanted a standard material as well (I recon leather sweats to much and I hate cleaning windows I've had leather trim b4) and it keeps in contrast with the dash as well being red and black.Gee is it worth that much I was gonna sell it for less and thanks it was alot of work Sleepyboi Thanks mate glad you like it Moanie I dont know as yet there still some probs I have to fix like the leaning out b4 I go doing anything with it at the moment just wanna enjoy driving it for the time being but if its all fixed and running right i will be thinking about it had alot of people trying to talk me into it of late

gday John The wheels came with the car when I bought it but were pertty chatty looking so I sent these ones to magman and had them sandblasted and repainted came up great had lots of comments about them. Its amazing what a coat of paint will do to an old set of wheels. The new fuel filter is in standard mounting position execpt its after market and expensive but reuasble and no worries about the block glad I could help. Hi Ben It is a wicked power curve but awesome to drive even on low boost and surprisingly good of boost too

OK for those of you who have asked pic's up and for those that would like to know power figgers but I still have issues with it leaning out above 5k which have to be sorted yet maybe a bit more power then who knows
-
She is but she's into the terrible 2's now and a handfull but beautifull Jnr32r thank you for the kind words ,if you went through the pics in this thread you would have seen the pic of the turbo fitted in the engine bay with no real issues Peter

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
legend01 replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey guys Just back from the dyno day ,had issues with fuel leaning out at higher rpm but was pretty impressed with what it made by 5300rpm will post graph Roy ,its great to be driving it again feels awesome pulls like a train but its still a new engine it will get better as it beds in some more its got like 1600k's on it now so there lots of playing to go.On high boost what traction and high boost is 23psi I'll try to answer your's and Johns q about the head work and its value at once .With the old bottom end I never had any trouble with high rpm's leaning out it could also be crank and bigger bore that helping this but alot more air flow will cause it to so the 1mm oversize valves and I spent a bit of time doing the ports again in my opinion has help with power but I think its helped more along the lines of torque its feels heaps better hills that i'd drop down a gear b4 now cruise over it top no trouble but more than that i think its reduced lag time a fair bit you'll see it in the dyno graph I got today as I didn't get one when I got it tuned 4got was to stocked with it toping 300rwkw Butters it would if I had 82mm pistons but mine are only 40thou oversize 79mm standard is 78mm I'm thinking about doing a post on this rebuild with all information I have as took heaps of pic's during build but thats for a latter time his todays dyno graph you can see where his backed of at 5300rpm here but here is where you can see where full boost has come in all the work I did with the flow honing has paid of and the head work has helped this as well usable power -

Quick answer is no stock side skirts will not fit with gtr guards you will have to get your side skirts modifided to fit and vise versa with gtr side skirts will have to be modofided to fit your rear quarters .
