  1. Being that bay side blue is a three layer colour its quite tricky to do edge to edge matches. I'd recommend that you let the panel shop do it there way. Unless you bought the car brand new, you can't be %100 is all original factory paint either. When it comes to paint, what 'mum doesn't know won't hurt her'. I'm sure I saw you at the show on sunday, she looked bloody neat mate. Any way, if it was mine, I'd let them blend where necessary. Let us know how ya go, n put some pics up
  2. Looking the goods guys ,keep 'em coming!!

Aaargh! Dammit, just got back to ballarat. Would've been awesome to hang around n meet a few blokes. Didn't get a chance today, too busy checking out all the shiny stuff haha! Maybe next time. Have a good one guys
  4. Hey guys, anyone else heading in from ballarat?
  5. Cheers guys, any idea what they're worth? They are a rays/volk rim not some random bob Jane job or anything
  6. Hey guys, can anyone tell me what these wheels are? The only info my mate could give me was they are 17 inch from rays engineering. I'm looking to buy them as he doesn't need them. Got a another spare set when he bought the car and is looking to get rid of them. Any help would be great Cheers guys
  7. Well done cooper, nice to see someone willing to help out n give some tips. After all painting isn't just painting is it!!? Even more so, its great to see that someone else still wet rubs their work haha. Not many of us left mate, in Vic anyway.
  8. If I was you, I'd take it into a panel shop n get it painted and fitted there. Shouldnt cost much its not a huge panel. I wouldnt use sika either. Pretty much, once its on it wont come off, even if you want it too. A strong double sided tape would be enough to hold it down, thats basically what hold all the new cars together hahaha. Hope this helps
  9. Woo hoo. Sold!! I'll pm ya some.details
  10. Hey mate, would ya have the rear 1/4 window trims?
  11. Hey guys, call up a local panel shop and ask who does their wheel repairs or call someone who deals in second hand rims. You should get a point in the right direction from either of those.
  12. Hey Chris, got the 34 yet?
  13. would ya have a pair of window rubbers for the door glass?
  14. BN0 comes up as "dark blue pearl". Should be what you're after. Hope this helps
  15. Hey champ, just head to the paint shop your gettin ya touch paint from and give them the code. It'll be a listing for two colours. Shouldn't have any problems. If you do, pm me n I'll look it up at work for ya. Cheers
  16. Hey guys, just wondering if anybody had used 'bodykitwarehouse.com.au" to buy anything? Ive tried to contact them for a month, but no reply as yet. There's no phone number, just an email link. Boooo! Failing this, has anyone got any recommendations on where abouts to get a 'do luck' style kit or similar for an R32 GTR? I know I could order the real deal, but I dont wanna have to sell a kidney. Finally looking at starting some work on the ol' girl. Any help would be great!! Cheers guys
  17. hey mate, you can get foam backed ones from any paint supply shop. sometimes called velvet pads/discs.
  18. No offence mingy, but we're two totally different trades. Repair work and paint work are carried out by separate people most of the time now days. Being that the bar is fibreglass the cracks will go on forever under the gel coat. It can be repaired although the best and cheapest option in the long run, will be replace the bar. If you repair it, you run the risk of missing cracks that hidden within the fibreglass. Speaking from experience (I've got a mate who 'touch' parks a bit!) its only a matter of time before the little hair cracks start to appear again. All the best with it Brylie
  19. Dont narrow yourself down to just two options man. Head into the paint shop thats doing the work or just your local paint supplier and ask to have a look at their colour cards. You'll spend hours just flicking through colour after colour wondering what she'll look like. Trust me, I get sucked into looking at them for a while at work every now & then!! Check out some of the euro colours, ie: BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lambo. They have some great colours available. Just my 2c anyway. Keep us posted on what you decide man
  20. Hey bud, I'm super bummed out to hear about your car. Dont hate me for this, but I'm a painter (cringe)!! Firstly, as a lot of guys have said already, dont panic about paint work. It can be redone, and if done properly, you wont be able to tell its been done at all. The area thats been re-repaired, sounds like the filler/bog has mapped up from the base coat due to a lack of primer. If that area was to be redone, id' reblock it and given that the paint was done about a week ago it should be cured enough to paint directly over. provided the clear coat isnt breached. Also, the grit or dirt your seeing and feeling in the paint can be 'nibbed' out. You wont see it after that. Silver is one of the nastiest colours to blend, but again as a lot of guys have already said, if this guys is professional it should be a walk in the park. From what I've read of the damage and the paint work done, he should be able to paint the the rear 1/4 and blend into the door without a problem, if there isnt enough room, just go into the gaurd. Painting isnt rocket science, although there is a definite art to it. There's painting and then theres 'painting'! Being this close to christmas shouldnt matter at all. If the guys in 'said' workshop are passionate about what they do, the job would be done right. Always insist on quality over quantity. If it takes a few extra days so be it. One more thing too a full respray, in the same colour, with any small dents/scratches etc should be around $6000 for a good job. If you want show looks, you'll have to pay show price. but all in all, a good tidy up would be around $6K. Theres probably so much more to cover but I keep going in circles in my head. Thats just my lil' opinion on it anyway....... If theres anything else you need to ask just PM me and help as best I can. (No i'm not in QLD either before you ask hahah)
  21. Mmmmmmmm? I dunno, sounds pretty dicey! Do up that sketch first & post it up so we can have a look
  22. you could always make one up out of mdf & fibreglass n mould the spacers etc into it?
  23. Would you have the arch shaped window rubbers for the door glass? if so what condition are they in and how much? PM please
  24. Nu finish is the devil. I had to paint a good mates bumper for him. He's the most over the top person when it comes to cleaning his cars (i never thought that could be a bad thing). The bar was painted three times because of the amount of silicon that the new finish left behind. Even after prepsol/wax n grease and correct prep work was done. In the end we degreased the living sh#t out of it and it was fine. Third time lucky i spose. Thats just my 2c anyway. If it was me I'd stick with the same as Jonno34 as far as off the shelf stuff goes.
