Australian Delivered Kei Car?
SKITTLES replied to ScaryTed77's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I've seen what you're talking about, kinda. It was a tiny car, tiny wheels lots of noise, not much go. Kinda like this: http://noriyaro.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/noriyaro_odaiba_rex_kei_car_drifting_001.jpg Don't get toooooo caught up about power/weight either. You won't be destroying HSVs in one of those btw I think small cars are kinda cool. I've always wanted to mod my excel, put 180atwKW into it and take it out against a few HSVs to see how I stack up... but eh... money effort and time aren't in great abundance. Why not buy it to get from A to B and dedicate your money to making your Skyline faster? -
Are you serious? I'm tempted to go down and have a look....

Your statement here throws your thread into the paradox of irony. Looking at this thing in a general, broad view; Skyline drivers flaming Skyline drivers? Rather annoying. There are two major factors here; People don't understand that what they write can be taken in the wrong context (given you can't effectively portray tone via text.... yet =.=) People need to learn to be more tolerant of other people, and accept that maybe they don't mean to flame them.

It'll be replacing my stock panel filter on my N/A R33 S2. Do I need to build a heat shield for it?

I would give everything I earn to buy that car.... -
What have I been telling everyone who has asked? It's not about being anal about going a speedlimit which was set god knows how long ago, it's about adapting to the times and realizing that people now drive cars that are capable of 90km/h safely (where the speed limit may have been 70 or 80 previously). Cars are being progressively engineered to go faster, safer. I have always said that it shouldn't be about speeding fines. A speeding fine won't teach you how to control you car. If they cared about driver safety, they'd be focussing on encouraging track days with government funded tracks, or subsidies, and looking at encouraging better driving through positive reinforcement, not by outcasting people who make mistakes due to inexperience or being a bit trottle happy. I personally think the reason it's gotten bad is the whole anti-hoon law crap and all that's come about it. I used to be a really good driver, then i got sick of all the crap I copped (even when I was doing nothing wrong), so I just drive however I feel comfortable / safe and because I drive at night mostly, I just avoid other drivers or heavily populated roads. I'm going to laugh if these guys get what they want, and we raise the speed limits and create better roads (not these half-assed, half-cut lines of black crap on the ground I have to drive on). Why will I laugh? Because once driver education gains some sort of substantial quality, they'll see a massive decrease in driver deaths, loose money, and probably be pissy about it. edit After reading that, it's completely true. I also believe that a major reason some of my friends have had their car accidents is because they were driving around backyard-job integras, Excels, mirages, etc. Just think of a car with bare basics and no safety features, that costs around $600, and you've got my friends cars back in the HSC. Collectively, we wrote off a good 30 cars in a year. My biggest car accident happened because I didn't have good brakes in my Excel and when the truck turned in front of me (without indicating), I couldn't stop in time. The police were great though. They didn't investigate, not even a breath test.

New Car Brokers - Good Or Bad?
SKITTLES replied to LatinR33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah, aside from the "there's nothing aftermarket about this car" bullshit I copped, and the annoyingly time consuming sales pitch they did. Or the forged interests they had in the car and the whole "We'll save it for you" thing, it wasn't too bad. One major thing I liked about the dealership was that they were going to give me two free services, and change the car to how I liked it (within reason). Speaking to the manager, he was going to give me four f**king grand for my Hyundai Excel as a trade-in, replace the missing foglight housing, do a major service, fill the tank, and give me a $500 gift voucher. Kinda spewing I didn't buy the thing. It was around $16,000 but they didn't want to budge down on the price. Had to walk away (white N/a 34) -
Questions Regarding Planned Exhaust
SKITTLES replied to SKITTLES's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've researched a fair bit. I'm looking for kinda reassurance and tbh, I didn't really look up which headers to go for. I do agree with the idea of a consolidated exhaust thread. We need a proper sticky with updated, comprehensive information. I might throw up the results of some of my research when I'm done and have it installed Thanks very much. I'll watch this video when I get home tonight Just wondering, is that an average price for headers? -
New Car Brokers - Good Or Bad?
SKITTLES replied to LatinR33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You want someone to buy a car for you? Wait, is this a car buying service only? I know DET offers this service, along with http://www.carsolutions.com.au/ I never met the carsolutions guy irl but he didn't do too badly evaluating my skyline. He seemed to evaluate cars a little nicer than some others have though. -
Questions Regarding Planned Exhaust
SKITTLES replied to SKITTLES's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
that helps greatly, thank you. how much would i be expecting to pay roughly? $1300? ive seen the video on youtube. i didnt notice a masisve differenxe but that was on camera and next to the muffler, so its a bit different to inside the cabin irl. i was interested to see if people were happy with the results. so youre saying there are no brand name catbacks? no fuss, was gonna get the local exhaust shop to do the piping anyways. oh, another question; if i get the headers cat piping and muffler, is it sifficult to install all of this myself? -
Okay so I'll be getting a new exhaust some time in the next couple months, and I was wondering what I should be looking for? I've got the RB25DE S2 R33. (no turbo). Due to the lack of the turbo, I was told that I should be looking at 2.5" piping, mandrel bent. I want to get a varex xforce muffler (the valve one) so I don't have a loud exhaust all the time (especially on long trips or if my girlfriends trying to talk to me). Are they any good at muffling the sound when the valve is closed? What should I be looking for in regards to the headers? Is there some sort of configuration I should keep an eye out for (eg/ I know 4 cyl cars have 4-2-1 and something else, is there something similar for 6cyl cars?) What headers have you guys had good experience with? What are you using? Did you get much of a power increase out of them? Also, with the cat, is there anything I should be keeping an eye out for? Thanks in advance.

Where To Get A Damaged R32 To Work On?
SKITTLES posted a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Topic says it all. I want to work on an R32, so I'm wondering where abouts I should start looking for one? I'm not worrying about it being road worthy because it's going to be a learning thing and there's no way I'm going to make it roadworthy in less than a year. -
What's The Point Of Having A Horn
SKITTLES replied to Bizkit's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Actually, I only asked for the nationality out of pure interest, not so I can flame a nationality. And I wanted to get a good idea of the amount of damage caused by the 4x4 based on which 4x4 it was. You're right, it's not wastelands, so let's just leave it there. OP; any progress with what's happened with this? -
pics please. the ones you posted arent working for me.

You're not the only person. Same thing happened to my friend in her 300zx (auto). She needed a new gear box... life problems solved. I mean, judging by the sounds of things, it could be a bracket or something that holds the shifter in place, because it's the entire right-hand side of your gearbox. Buutt... get someone skilled to have a quick squizz because it sounds like it needs a new gearbox to me.

Getting My Ecr33 Into Sydney
SKITTLES replied to davichui's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
http://www.germansinaustralia.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=79〈=en By the sounds of things, you shouldn't really have too much of a problem with getting insurance. JustCar didn't ask if I'm here on a visa in their online quote form. Your best bet is to ring around to different insurance companies. http://justcarinsurance.com.au/ http://www.nrma.com.au/ http://www.youi.com.au/ http://www.aami.com.au/ You could also try shannons but they're very picky with who they insure. You'll have to prove you're a car enthusiast... -
Does It Feel Like Your R33 Is Outdated?
SKITTLES replied to crazyr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That's interesting... because I grew up riding shot gun in my fathers Commodore and quite seriously, I've never liked it. My friend got a commodore recently, and the first thing I noticed is how uncomfortable I found the seats. I know it's a matter of personal choice, but it's just interesting that someone with a back problem found the commodore more comfortable than the 33, I always thought the 33 would win it. Curiously, was it an GTR or GTS/GTST? -

Getting My Ecr33 Into Sydney
SKITTLES replied to davichui's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I'll give you $4500 aud for that... Nah, that's a nice car mate, why would you even think about selling it in Australia? Edit: Also, I'm saving that picture in the "Cars that give me inspiration" folder -
Thanks for the words mate, made me feel a little better after a rather dead day. What happened to the guy in the ute is ridiculous.. and only 30 minutes ago did I drive from my normal car spot to the underground carpark to avoid the hail without a seat belt (it was a 30m drive, too, but across a public road). I've had a cop push for it, but I kept at the point that I've lost six p-plates by displaying it the way he told me and kept telling him I've tried to keep it on. When he said cable ties, I was honest that I never thought about it and I'll do it as soon as I got home. He started the whole thing as a total ass, and was trying to ping me for everything, then he kind of backed off and was beign a little nicer by the end. He's like "I don't know if you know, but a lot of people like to do burnouts in this sort of car. Now I'm not saying you do..." Made me laugh. Must be illegal to make a light hearted claim that someone does burnouts, because he was very VERY quick to try cover himself with the last bit ... There was a legit ferrari driver in p-plates. Over-loving parents with deep pockets I heard. Dude, you're totally right. it's what I've been saying for ages. You can take turbos and V8s from p-platers, but you'll never take the hoon out of them. That's something they've got to do them self in their own mind... Even then, the general mentality around driving is really poor in general. Sooo many stupid things people do. I'll admit to texting while I drive and changing the song... but I'm not serving over the road and it's almost always whilst stopped in traffic.

About The Standard Fuel Injector Rb25De

Go down the the shop, grab some 3B. Apply it to the affected areas and away you go. Just remember though, those crabs are still going to itch. But the acute chafing will ease.
