SKITTLES replied to davichui's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
In saying that, he will require new tyres before the car comes into the country.. -
Apparently the rears aren't long enough for the R33 anyways Thanks tho

Getting My Ecr33 Into Sydney

Depending on condition and mods, you could sell your car for around 9k imo. Parking is really bad in the city, where you choose to live may provide parking but it's not a guaranteed. Parking metres / bays are really expensive around the city, too. (paying for parking is expensive for me... it should be free imo). I don't know about car lockups etc. I know in Japan they had the car parking facilities like in F&F Tokyo Drift (which you may not know haha ><), and I'm pretty sure there isn't one in the Pyrmont region. If you find one, let me know. I'm not an expert on getting the car imported, but you'll be required to grab new tires, possibly get the air-bag equipped steering wheel refitted and the mushroom filter might need to be replaced. The importing cost is going to be rather high, too. But if you sell that car in Australia, you'll get way more than $4,500. Let us know when you're in the country, give me your number or I'll add you to facebook, and I'll send you information about cruises -

Did you try the coil packs? I once had a mate who had a knock in his engine, and he ended up having to sell because it was something that he couldn't fix / was damaging or something like that. But he couldn't fix it :S

I'm hoping your signatures right, Marc. I'll have check over it at home tonight (if I can keep my eyes open)

I totally agree. 120 hours, if anything, made me worst because I was stuck driving with my grandmother. It ended up really affecting our relationship, too. There are some bad ones. But generally speaking, I see a LOT of responsible green p-platers (especially females) who I have mistaken for fully licensed drivers. And I did chase an L-plater in a camry doing 120km/h down Old Windsor once... that was the biggest lolfest I've ever had. OMG the amount of people who seem to purposely take-off slower than me is ridiculous. I've purposefully rolled off my clutch at a set of lights, and this mother in a prado STILL tried to go slower than me! I really think society needs to re-consider their idea of a 'hoon', too. Because atm, doing 10km/h over the speed limit, in the right lane, to over-take someone doing 10km/h under the limit in the left lane is called hooning, and it's the reason why we all die in our cars and kill other people. Gotta love white trash in astras. (no stereotype, it was an observation ) Especially with trucks. I have a personal hate for trucks which was GREATLY amplified after I had one turn into me whilst I was driving my excel, writing off my car, then sent me the bill for the damage to his precious fuel tank (which was larger than the cost to repair the entire front end of my car.. go figure?) Oh, and the irony there, I was a red p-plater with white throw-overs (because I play and work at paintball, and I didn't want to damage my interior, and I liked the look of white throw-overs at the time), so in the police's eyes, I was in the wrong and they were trying to help me keep my license. I was pissed off with their prejudice, as it cost me over $4500, but was happy they still tried to help me and not the truck driver. I was a truck tail-gating this camry once, who was well within his rights doing 80km/h down old windsor, and this truck was about 40cm from the back of him. Meanwhile there was a lane either side of the bastard, so he had no right to sit on this guys ass. I may or may not have done something slightly reckless to get the truck to back off, but this guy was on the verge of hitting the back of the car :S Annnddd what else is there... sooooo many stories. The old guy yesterday, backed into a Mercedes Benz, and I just sat there and watched the bumpers flex... he then realized, moved forward as I watched them flex back into shape, and he left a slight scratch. Then he drove off!!! He probably damaged the paint pretty bad, too.. Then there were the people who sped through stop signs in the car park, cutting me off. The people who I was being nice to and let-in in traffic, who didn't even wave and snobbed their nose at me through the drivers window. The people who beep at me to move forward when there's a couple-metre gap between me and another car, which was stopped waiting for the lollipop man to switch the sign to slow, and we were about 60 cars back in the queue to move forward... but no, I'm still in the wrong sitting there waiting to roll down the hill.. because it affects the time they get to work and all when they're sitting still in traffic. The constant shaking of the head by people who speed past me. The people who don't know how to merge in turn, only making life harder for themselves. The people who sit on 90km/h in the right lane down the M2/5/whatever... next to someone in the left lane... when the speed limits 100 (i don't know what road I Was on rofl) The people who rage when I make a simple mistake of not knowing that a lane ends / doesn't go where I want and I have to get over. The worst ones are the ones who cut me off and cause me to almost crash. But then again, there was the nice truck driver to let me in yesterday when he didn't have to, and I had the give-way sign. he even let me in a second time when that lane ended (i turned into the street before the merging lane sign, so I had nnooooo idea. Then I got to the end, and I was all "OMFG NO WAY STUPID TRUCK BLOCKING THAT OMGOMG hey nice guys letting me in again ^.^" There was the really nice merc who let me, and four other cars, in front of him when there was an old pokie driver doing well under the limit and we were all queued up like a mofo. The people I've stopped and said hello to in traffic. The lulzy guy sending who I beeped to tell him his light was green, who turned around from sending his message and glared at me, only to realize I was trying to tell him he had a green light which he missed because he was texting/glaring. We had a good laugh about that. The numberous Skylines I've randomly cruised with. ANnndd there were sooooo many cute girls in Hondas / Nissans this morning!!!! /rant My solution to this whole "p-platers are shit drivers". Make it easier to get them on a track. Seriously, no p-plater can be half assed to get a helmet, cams shit, iunno. It's too much hassle and money when all we need is a nice, open place we can go and drive at a rate we like every now and then. Not only is it great for releasing that urge to speed or to drive fast, but it'll also help p-platers learn their limits when they're behind the wheel, and a simple advanced driving course will teach them everything they need to know about vehicle control. *I'm booking mine when i get my lunch break today

I thought it was just the spark plugs, because it's what fixed the problem in my Excel, but I've changed them and it's still got a bit of a knock in it. The only way to describe it is a misfire. It feels like the engine has a slight knock whilst idle. It's only very faint, and there's no sounds other than a faint clunk. I'm going to check out the coil packs tonight if I get a chance, any cracks or the like I'll seal up with silicon. Other than that, I'm lost for ideas. It's comparable to having a borked spark plug I guess is an accurate description.. Edit; I have a S2 R33 with the RB25DE, yes non-turbo.

Do it. Get them to do a custom paintjob whilst your at it, because your car has "a unique paint code which was custom mixed, and cannot simply be patched." It'd be awesome if that worked

Thanks, ended up buying some other random sparks from a shop down the road. I'll get the deet of them when i get home (if I remember) and I'll post them up. They seem to be running alright.

So I decided that almost loosing my license is a bad enough experience, and I've been much more cautious with how I drive. Woo for me, I'm gaining this sense of "responsibility" and "maturity".. weirdest shit. Anyways, so I'm sticking to the speed limit, and the amount of people riding my ass / beeping / flashing lights / over-taking / shaking their heads / death staring me as they drive past... like wow, I'm a hoon and a half, ay? Tried an experiment the other day, did the exact same thing but "accidentally left my p-plates at home after cleaning my car" (i had a set in the car for legitimacy ;] ) and stuck to the speed limit, drove at a reasonable speed around corners, and was an RTA-approvable driver. Guess what? No abuse what-so-ever.... Not even people over taking too much.... So er... what's the go? Haters just hatin' the P-Plater with a Skyline?

OOooooo *adds to budget list I'm so getting a set of them...

Thanks for all the info, Phill. Would the following be alright to purchase?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-NGK-V-Power-Performance-Spark-Plugs-BCPR6E-11-5632-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45f4ff0ad7QQitemZ300463098583QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Not necessarily. Some lights etc. may dim, but it's not until the battery is completely dead that the car accessories won't power on. Try turning off everything (radio, fans, aircon) and try turn it on. Try do a push start (put car in second gear, hold down clutch, take off handbrake and get your mate to roll the car for you. Dump the clutch and it should crank on. Make sure your key is in the "on" position. Were your headlights dimming when you were turning on your car? Was anything dimming when you turned on your car? Did you car go er-er-er-er-er-er-er vroom when starting up?

I've seen them for up to 15k. My friend bought one for 11k. private, too.

Japans awesome, full stop.

PLease... i live halfway between blacktown and parramatta... more parramatta side. When I see a lambo in my area, I srsly stop my car and admire. Traffic hates it.
-
Just wondering, other than the mechanic doing a green slip or whatever... is there any real way for the RTA to know what you've got in your car?
-
Thanks for the reply. 8k is a little less than what I was expecting, I paid a little more than that, too.... Put it this way, the car was put up for 14,800 when I bought it. I didn't pay that, but that's a rough idea.

Hey guys, I have a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS25. (rb25de engine). HIDs, short shifter, and leather sports steering wheel (which ties in with the rest of the interior nicely, all black etc.). 153k on the clock All clean except for a small scrape on the front left How much would you expect this to sell for? I'll post photos tomorrow... it's too dark now.
