  1. Sounds like I missed out on a good day. Oh well... next time. Things have been hectic just like I suspected. Not getting my car back from the transport company for 3 weeks due to great incompetence didn't help either. All I can say about transporting your car is "Dive to to where ever you are going yourself" Even if I move to WA I'm going to drive it after all the drama's I had. It's not like the problems are over either the #$%^ cracked my front spoiler by trying to load it onto the wrong truck! Why did I pay the extra $1500 for presteige service if I thought it could fit up the ramps of a normal truck? So now I have to deal with insruance companies. Sigh! Anyway... next criuse... I'll be there!
  2. Fingers crossed I'll be sorted enough by the 18th so I can meet you all. I've got the hardest part of the move done with... I said goodbye to my baby yesterday at the TNT depot in Townsville. Hopefully she'll arrive safe and sound in 9 or so days time. My name is Karen and I have a mostly white (with black and purple) R33 GTS-T
  3. Hello All I'm moving down to Newi at the end of this and am keen to meet up with you guys and go for a cruise. Put me down as a maybe though as it all depends on when my car arrives and if I've found a place to live and am busy moving or any of the other million and one things that have to be done when moving state/jobs etc. Karen
  4. Well I won't be in town that weekend but Wibble will be. I suppose I can let him out with my car for a cruise. Name: Karen Ride: R33 GTS25t Colour: Tri colour (white, C/F bonnet and purple highlights)
  5. So are you here yet?? haven't seen your wheels, only 4 skylines in the "Wild on Wheels" car show today, made my CF bonnet stand out but......
  6. I'm a geologist. Good money but I work 12 hours a day 14 days in a row and live in a tiny little room in a little camp that is so close to the workshop you hear the trucks come in at night.
  7. 1989.... NOOOOOOOOOOO...... The music was bad and the fashion even worse. I was 8, I couldn't drive, drink or see any AO movies (I'm sure you remember the old rating system)
  8. I should point out that the computerised car thing was a throw away comment. It was not intended to be taken seriously. Sciby, I do agree with most of the points you make but we can't change human nature. Power restrictions work for bike riders and probably would for cars too but I know many a bike rider who has ignored these rules and driven more powerful bikes before it was legal for them to do so. The same thing would happen with cars too... if someone really wants to break the law they will. The point I am trying (i hope) to make is that for the average person new rules would work but to if someone wants to do something stupid like 200km on L's then they will find a way to do so. This girl obviously doesn't give a stuff about the existing rules and I doubt she would have any different attitude towards any new road rules. Onto NSW road rules... I don't know about P platers now as the system has changed since I was on my P's but I never had any drama's with an 80km speed limit but then again there weren't many roads around my home that were more than 80km. I can't see it stopping anyone from wanting to drive as 80km in a car is better than a bus, train or foot power. I never bothered to take my P plates off as you would just loose more points and $ if you got caught speeding and not displaying your plates.
  9. This is the same argument that has been on here often and I think the only thing it achives saying that every car (no matter what power) can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Can anyone on here honestly say they have never gotten themselves out of some deep shite in a car and thought 'phew I was lucky I didn't crash' after your parents/fiends have told you not to play up? No? Thought not... All I am trying to say is if you want to stop the speeding/accidents or any other stupid behaviour in cars... you have to get rid of the cars! I don't think any of us want to see that happening. I also don't believe in computerised cars driving for us. My computer has crashed twice while trying to type this... I'd hate to think what could happen...
  10. More and more skylines up here every day, or so it seems. Welcome to Cairns.
  11. I have a R33 GTST and its $3000 for full comp insurance. I didn't have any previous insurance history. Ring Famous Classic Car Insurance.
  12. I've bought a heap of stuff off ebay from DVD's to intercoolers and I've never had a single problem. Everyone I've delt with has been so promt I've often wondered if they do nothing but sit in front of the computer and have an army of minions to run to the post office!
  13. Bugger about the camera. Hopefully we will be in town for the next one... and not too busy fixing one house while moving into another!!!! Perhaps a bbq somewhere?
  14. Did you guys have fun? Don't know about the blue 34... only seen it once.
  15. I wanna go :-( Stoopid roster. Take plenty of photos :-)
