  1. Guys - first of all, my apologies for the bump to this thread again. I appreciate that this is not entirely fair to others selling their cars, so I hope that what I am writing here is loud and clear, because I am a fan of putting 'relevant information' into a thread, so that I do not need to reply by PM all the time. As I have been getting lots of timewasters by PM, please note; * It is not my concern if you live in Darwin, Afghanistan or the dark side of the moon. Just because you are faced with exorbitant freight costs is not my concern. If it is $2K to get to the top of Aus, you can add this to the cost of the car, not deduct it from the sale price. This should make perfect sense to all of you (except for those incapable of it). * The price already reflects necessary repairs to the vehicle in consideration that it is less than 100%, and certainly not 'as new'. Again, if you want to fit a set of 19 x 12 BBS rims and flare the guards, this is (again) not my concern or my problem. If you want to re-spray it fencepost brown (nobody has suggested this, it's an example to protect the stupid), then ADD the $5K cost to the price. * I will not accept trades or swaps at this price. Furthermore, please no offers of obscure items (boat, jetski, ...... I'll probably be offered a motorised wheelchair from someone's dead uncle next) As I have probably already mentioned, if you are serious about getting a GTR, and you; * want one with modifications as opposed to stock * want one that will turn heads rather than be a 'sleeper' * live in Tas or Vic (but not WA, Qld, etc) then I'd be surprised if there is any better on offer. However, if you do live further away, or you want a stock one, etc etc - then this is not for you, and I'll ask you to think about these factors BEFORE you send me a PM. Rant over! Cheers, jez
  2. prices on these cars fluctuate wildly depending upon the 'saleability' of the car. witness the discrepancy in price between a pre 5/99 RX7 and a 6/99 RX7 - not so much now, but 3-4 years ago there was a 30% difference in price. Didn't matter if other ineligible 99 RX7's were cheap - what mattered was that the Japanese had a ready market for 6/99 and beyond RX7's in Australia, and so the price escalated. 1. Re the question of eligibility re mileage, This is an instructive read....... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R35-Gtr-t276825.html. It basically highlights both the extreme improbability and the exceptional risk associated with such an importation. 2. If you can source me an R35 GTR for below 6M Yen FOB that is eligible for import under SEVS legislation (and full road registration) - consider me a highly interested (willing and able) party. I suspect you'd find another 20 people on this forum would be the same... Has anyone on the forums actually imported such a vehicle in the last - say - 6 months?
  3. if you are looking to import one then I don't see what relevance my contact details will be. do you mean looking to buy one? if so, and given your '1' posting status - perhaps you'll be kind enough to send me your details....
  4. My understanding (based on the detailed response from clearly more informed sources - the likes of Beer Baron, Iron Chef and Monster Imports), is that it is not only necessary to source a GTR with a build date that pre-dates this point in time (early 2009 or whenever) BUT ALSO that the car must be limited to somewhere in the vicinity of 200klms (2000?) on the clock. In other words; * only a demo model would suffice * even then it would likely exceed the mileage constraint * even if it didn't exceed the mileage constraint it will have been located by many other interested parties * even if it had not been purchased there is no way that it will sell as cheap as other such GTR's - the Japanese will be very aware of its desirability in Australia, and I would see such as example fetching closer to the 7M Yen FOB mark, which would see this landed for circa $120K (7M Yen = app $90K AUD, plus $4.5K duty, $10K GST, $2K shipping and $15K LCT - all approximations). But I stand to be corrected.....

    New Guy

He's from adelaide for god's sake. city of churches. enough said. hobart won't be such a culture shock after all!
  6. so to sum this up - if it is forced induction from the manufacturer (say a ZR1 vette...lol) it is still OK. Or an R35 GTR.
  7. what is it that one would expect to be the difference between a V-Spec II and a V-Spec II Nur? I ask as I don't know and I'm admittedly hoping that you'll collectively pardon my laziness and someone will take 2 minutes to type 3 lines to explain!?
  8. BUMP - first and only price drop to $12500. if I can't sell a car as good as this at a price this low, I'll simply tidy it up myself and keep it! no offers or trades or swaps at this price - cash only.
  9. mainly because if I sell in the next two weeks I can make more than if I held onto it for longer in order to get a good price.
  10. you may have me confused with previous owner (Luke) with whom I did a cash + extras trade. As it is, yeah I've had numerous accounts over the years (4 or 5 I reckon?) - too hard to remember passwords when they need to be re-set via email accounts I no longer have, so starting new account is simpler process.
  11. On the basis that I have something far better to do with cash right now than have it sit around in the form of an unused car, I am prepared to sacrifice my GTR for a ridiculous cash price, in order to realise a cash sale in the next 2 weeks at most. Once this period elapses, if the car is not sold, I will be tidying it up to use myself. You will find details at this link - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Jade-Green-R32-Gtr-Single-t307913.html I am asking $12500 cash – that is a firm price, it is for a limited time, and no swaps / trades (at this price) will be considered. To get this car up to an immaculate standard will require; · $1350 for bodywork (this is a fixed quote – to tidy up scratches, chips, etc). I can arrange this for the buyer. · $1000 or so for replacement wheels – car is fitted with stockies and they’re not much to look at – trade them up and spend the extra $1K for 18’s or 19’s with good tread · $650 for minor trim items – such as cracked indicator lens, dash vents, etc – this is a very generous estimate and I reckon it would not cost this much · $1000 for service, tune, mechanical items as required. Again, a generous estimate that is unlikely to cost this much. In other words - $12500 + $1350 + $1000 + $650 + $1000 = $16500 to get yourself an immaculate looking, custom sprayed R32 GTR with your choice of rims, heaps of mods and accessories (recently rebuilt RB26 with forged internals, big single turbo and new clutch), serviced and tuned, looking schmik from one end to the other – and with compliance and lots of rego already thrown in. And custom plates too. No point trying to compare this deal to any other GTR out there because there is nothing that comes close. And frankly, I’m not interested. Not interested in what else you can buy, just in what I can sell. And this thing should really sell itself at this price. My expectation is simple – $12500 cash for the car as is. If I have to spend money or waste time to accommodate the buyer’s requirements, then the price goes up accordingly. So the easier you make it for me, the cheaper you get the car. Test drives will not be given. ‘Interested’ parties will not be taken for a drive until such time as a deposit is forthcoming. Inspections by qualified mechanics are more than welcome (refer to previous note re costs of accommodating buyers requirements). Car will not be removed from storage for anyone who does not turn up with lots of cash already in hand to make deposit if interested – have no time for tyrekickers. If interested, PM via forum with your name and contact details. Cheers, Jez
  12. * year? * photos? * VIN (given vehicle's history) cheers, jez
  13. guys - before everyone gets consumed in this discussion, I think you'll find the best answer is this... 'welcome to the forum newbie. I notice you posted several threads all at once, most of which were meaningless, and probably simply because you need a minimum of 10 posts in order to PM someone, or even reply to a PM. Thumbs up for some relatively innocuous thread bumps, but please - at least next time put a question mark after your statement, so that it gives the remotest appearance of being genuine. Enjoy your time on the forum and hope you got that PM sent.....' (I know this because I had to do the same thing)
  14. have the LHS air con vent and the rear reverse lights by any chance?
  15. do you have both the clear rear reverse lights (next to licence plate) as well as passenger air con vent?
  16. how does one import a car under personal import legislation if they have only just bought the car?
  17. muchas gracias for that highly informative feedback - very appreciative of the time and effort in that response. i did not know that quarantine facilities (steamcleaners) were something you could 'select'.
  18. hey mate - this is almost impossible to answer because it largely comes down to finding someone who is willing to do the swap. given that they're going to lose about $1K of this difference anyway just by having to go through the RWC, transfer and stamp duty process - it reduces the benefit to them. I would have thought like for like should be about a $5K difference. Sunroof add $1K or so as they're pretty rare and desirable. colour and mods etc will also add (especially if yours is silver and completely stock). If you can find someone who'd swap like for like and you're only out of pocket $4K for the car, PLUS you really want a manual, PLUS your on road costs (est $1000) then you'd be doing well. every man and his dog has a stock silver 350GT premium auto (well, not quite), so it's not a strong bargaining position.
  19. last for the day - i'll upload photos of paint chips, blemishes, etc tomorrow. however, all can be fixed 'as new' for $1500 or so.
  20. note - TE37's no longer on car. stock crap wheels and tyres currently fitted.
  21. soz for the delay - SAU has twice sh*t itself when I've tried to upload photos. so I'm going to upload one at a time - spare me getting 6 photos in when it decides to die on me.
  22. Any ideas from any members here as to how I can be assured of the fact that vehicles which I import are actually sent from the wharf to a steam cleaning facility and then on to my destination? * given that it is $120 for freight to steam clean + $140 for steam clean and $140 for freight to compliance - that's $400 to move a car literally 11 klms across town and (supposedly) do an AQIS steam clean. Any idea on how I can be sure that this has been done? (for those who don't know what I mean by steamcleaning....no, it's not like a suit, where you get it back nice and clean and fresh. car usually turns up no different, but you get a big bill). Anyone here also with any thoughts on why cars landing in Brisbane rarely seem to need steamcleaning, whereas cars landing in Melbourne do? My first instinct is to suspect that perhaps the owners of the steamcleaning facility have a lurk going with customs brokers or (dare I say it) AQIS personnel...and I say this only because it never seems to happen in Qld. Thoughts, comments - even to the negative - are welcome!
