  1. It was quite sad to see. So hammered even one of the bonnet vents was broken and had popped out. I've never seen anything like it! The 911 next to the gtr was a pretty sad sight too- but much cheaper, a bargain at $39500!
  2. The black I'm talking about is the thermal barrier coating which is used on turbo housings as well- so yes it does block heat. No point doing it otherwise! The silver ones block heat too but they are more for decoration if you're into the bling sort of thing.
  3. Hmmm. Can't decide if I like it or not.
  4. Could be interested...for the future....(only just got the car so have to leave it alone until the wife calms down about spending money on non-essential playing) I'd probably be in for the coating as well- in black. No point being shiny down there!
  5. Can't say I've noticed it. I know for sure it beeps once when I put it in reverse, and the reverse camera fires up on screen...but I don't recall hearing any further beeps. Maybe with the factory reverse camera the beeps are disabled?
  6. Haven't played with it....yet.... It was working exactly as it should except when it was faulting. Normally it does the braking, warning beeps etc. When it faults, it emits a single beep, drops out of cruise and the dash display starts flashing, either with the orange 'cruise' or not. I played with the distance setting and it made no difference to the problem. I tried it on a drive to the shops just then and it was working just fine, of course!
  7. No, no bumps, jolts, low flying birds (!) etc. I suspect an intermittent electrical gremlin as it isn't putting up an error code on the computer. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced and fixed this. Anyone got a spare radar sensor for the front grille? Hate to think what they'd cost from Nissan!
  8. I took my M35 on a decent cruise this weekend and it appears to have an intermittent fault in the factory cruise. Sometimes whilst cruising along, there is a beep followed by the car dropping out of cruise. The sensor signal on the right lcd on the dash (car symbol and three bars and dot) flash and an orange 'cruise' lights up to the right of the green 'cruise' on the dash. The only way this can be reset is to turn the car off, after which it appears to work normally. The second problem it was showing this afternoon was the beep again, followed by dropping out of cruise. This time the orange 'cruise' wasn't there, and the three bars and dot were flashing on the lcd but no car symbol. I could reset this condition by turning the cruise off and on again with the steering wheel button, but it kept on doing this...very frustrating! In both cases, there were no cars infront or other objects that may have interfered with the cruise as far as I could see. I have checked for fault codes and it comes up with 1110 (three single flashes then ten flashes), but there's no listing for that code that I could see. Is it the same as the V35 which I think is P1110 Intake Valve Timing Control, LH Bank??? This is no doubt a separate issue... I will reset it and see if it comes back. Any ideas? Or is this just prompting me to lose the factory cruise, which I don't want to do!
  9. Fully comp.
  10. Yous guys are gunna hate me.... Shannons, about $670. Me 38, car standard, garaged etc. There have to be some benefits to living out west...
  11. ...or pump them up so they 'grow'... 150psi should do it....
  12. Any idea why not? The unit I was think of intercepts the electronic signal (pulses) at the gearbox and alters the pulse frequency up or down to change the speed reading interpreted by the car's computer. Not really sure how that can not work.....
  13. Have a few questions.... Has anyone translated the m35 wiring diagarams yet? My ARX has the radar cruise which is great apart from the upper speed limit. Due to ?wrong? sized tyres etc, real top speed is 104 km/h at an indicated 110. Obviously this is insufficient as I wish to cruise slightly higher than that out on the country WA roads! Yes, I know I can get aftermarket cruise fitted (not sure about flying Chris Rogers all the way over here tho!), but I want to try fiddling with the factory cruise first. I haven't heard of anyone cracking the ecu yet and reflashing it...so, can I confirm if the cruise is a standalone unit or fully integrated into the ecu? Is there an ecu piggyback/replacement that can alter things like cruise speed? Possibly a simple solution is to fit a speedo corrector from Jaycar (KC5435) and use that to alter the speedo signal going into the car to show a lower speed than you are doing (so allowing a higher real cruise speed). Would this affect the running of the car much? It's probably something I'd wire up with a switch so it would only be used with cruise on the longer runs. Thoughts/advice?
  14. Yup. makes sense.
  15. This is probably a silly question and maybe not so relevant in this case with so many mods... but could the original pedal assembly/throttle body still be kept hooked up alongside the cable operated one to fool the computer into thinking it's all as normal? The tps would still work as if it was in the induction path..... Or would it cause too many conflicts for the ecu and go into limp?
  16. Thanks Chris, I thought it might be the case.
  17. I've read that the m35's cruise will only go up to 110kmh. Just wondering if there's any way around this to allow slightly higher speeds... Without complete replacement. One thought I had is if the cruise is a stand alone unit which accepts a speed signal from the ecu or box then the speed signal could be intercepted and altered i.e. Jaycar gearbox sender correction unit for electronic speed sender units. They work by altering the number of pulses so in effect could tell the cruise unit that the car is going slower so higher real speeds could be set. Unless of course the cruise is fully integrated in the ecu which wouldn't surprise me.
  18. Does the consult cable and software work for the M35 model?
  19. Decided to order one so here we go!
  20. More economical the faster you go? Sounds good to me- at 200 you'd probably be using just about no fuel!
  21. So skim or replace with slotted 350Z discs? (obviously ignoring the cost issue)
  22. Shannons, WA, 38 (old git), everyday driver, no mods, garaged, anything else?
  23. Obviously brake shudder is a common thing- the RX I drove the other day had it too...
  24. It's good for people like me who are going to buy one!
