  1. that would.ve been mine on the way to work. i'm amazed you could even tell that the car was blue, it's freakin filthy at the moment.
  2. very nice. it'd look crazy without the roof rails.
  3. i'm not sure if you can buy them from total tools or repco, DIY version involves a gutted out old spark plug and a tyre valve brazed in. i'll have a look around at work tonight and see if we have one. Ebay leak down tester
  4. As someone esle stated, pop the sparkplugs back out and turn the engine over with the belt on. it should be easy enough to turn with a normal ratchet(ie not a huge breaker bar) if you are still having issues, then i'd be looking at bent vlaves. It's at about this point that i'd be calling a mechanic mate. we always get cars thru work that are hard to diagnose over the phone(or forum in this case) but turns out to be something easy. as a side note, Astra engines which are notorious for bending valves when the cam belt snaps(interference engine)- the crank can be turned over by hand independent of the cams. with a 4 valve per cylinder type engine you normally have enough clearance
  5. hopefully the cruise should turn out a little bit like this
  6. serviced the stagea tonight at work, fresh oil, new oil filter and new fuel filter. and since we are a wynns stockist i thought i'd do one of there injector power flush kits and a throttle body clean(why not, they were free) and surprise surprise it actually did make a diference. my stagea used to hold back when pulling between 4500-5250rpm when its really cold, now it pulls nice and smooth all the way to rev cut! sweet!
  7. Keen as, PM sent. i'll let the wife know that she has to get up early. might even have to wash all of the mud off the car
  8. spotted red series 2 stagea cruisin round aldinga. looked nice!
  9. Spotted a red series 2? stagea cruising down my street in aldinga
  10. I prob got at least 1 other stagea that are keen for a cruise. he also works saturdays, so sunday is the day for him, preferabllly arvo for him.
  11. just to let you guys know, this is a car cruise, not some homo-erotic meeting point. unless i just left to early last time and missed all the fun!
  12. It'd have to be a sunday for me, preferably morning, and a decent length. oh yeah, I'm way down south - Aldinga!
  13. try chamfering the edges of the pad slightly, new pads with old rotors, or old pads with new rotors have a tendency to squeal. make sure all of your slides are lubed too, just in case they are sticking, causing the pads to stay in contact.
  14. price???
  15. that is your attessa relay (4wd) replaceing it won't help refer to this thread- 4wd relay clicking at idle my car does the same thing, but it has no affect on how fast my 4wd engages
  16. welcome mate, good to see some more stageas around. any pics?
  17. spotted a silver stagea out the front of southgate holden on saturday at lunch time.....not trading it in i hope.
  18. re-PMed ya mate, dunno what happened, keen as tho for struts and springs complete, have you got any pics of springs fitted. I am assuming that they will fit series 2, i haven't read anything conflicting that
  19. I know it's an ad but i love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVRz4dNkyew
  20. not likely mate, the first year of my apprenticeship was at a holden dealer, so n o working on cars by myself anyway, and the following 3 years were at a toyota dealer so nothing of interest there at all.
  21. Pretty much all cars are set up to be out. Brand new camry's have the correct reading at the ECU but then change it for the speedo to be 10% out, don't ask me why, they just do. but it explains why camry drivers always seem to go so slow.
  22. In most workshops their insurance won't cover apprentices in cars over 60k. i had to wait to be 4th year before i was allowed to roadtest cars, and even then it was with the apprentice trainer.
  23. Mariobros Mj style is awesome
