  1. Yeah I'm not a USB fan personally. I actually purchased G35s, used them for a week and went back to my HD555... They sounded so 'tinny' I couldn't use them, given I do listen to a bit of music as well through my headphones.
  2. I ended up going with the Sennheiser G4ME ZERO headset. They also have a "ONE" line in that branding too at the same pricing I had HD 555s (modded to HD595 spec) and loved them with an amp'd soundcard, so yeah giving the ZERO's a whirl. I've got a Xonar Essence STX sound card with onboard amp, had it for a few years so the ZERO was the choice of the ONE due to the ZERO will perform better with some juice through them. I didn't pay anywhere near the current retail price so they were quite a good choice for what I ended up paying.
  3. 100% do not use IE with IPB Forums. Use Chrome or Firefox... IE is just, nasty.
  4. Yep - It's on - In VIC. Venue locked on for the Track and S'n'S parts. Just working on scoring a Hillclimb event and a dinner to round it all off. More detail to come over the next couple weeks. Been tied up last week otherwise it'd likely have been all ready to go this week
  5. Signed up just to dig up old thread and post about the fact his "friend" LOST at VCAT. Having been through VCAT process a number of times, one does simply not lose if one has a solid case... In fact if ones case is solid - one basically can neva looooose! Hence VCAT is good IMO. Perhaps posting up the FULL story rather than a little piece of it, might make the story more credible.
  6. Sounds like a trader, and given this offer is currently "doing the rounds"... Closed/Edited If you wish to trade you are required to become a forum sponsor like the other businesses. Details can be found here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/294953-are-you-a-business-want-to-advertise-on-sau-click-here/ Thanks.
  7. The Calipers are cheap because GM order them by the millions. So of course, they cost f**k all. Yeah about $700 when I last checked. Problem is cost to get them fitted makes things expensive - and the time factor. Hence a 'bolt-on' Skyline kit, ready to go and can be done in a couple hours, is always handy.
  8. Quadrant http://www.quadrantsuspensions.com.au/contact.htm Try them first
  9. Depends what you mean by hi-flowing... Or "making a hybrid" of the two. Similar process, different end results. Read thread I linked above and you'll see there is differences
  10. "settled"... I came here expecting a crack pot theory or at the very least photo's of bent 2JZ rods or something... But didn't even get that. I'm much disappoint. It'll never be, settled. Have a look at the dyno thread and work it out yourself. Thread closed as all your posts OP, are just rubbishing on. That made me LOL'd, so so true.
  11. Not quite correct, unfortunately. It'll be far less than the first year before registration occurs, likely 3-4 months you'd think. https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/GST/Registering-for-GST/Do-you-need-to-register-/ All you need to do is have $300 in the door, per day to be over 75k in a year. So 3 oil changes a day, 5 days a week - not much Too many 'skyline/import specialist' workshops have opened over the past 10 years only to be gone 12-18 months later leaving people with unfinished work, debts owed and cars unfinished or their parts being sold on them with the owner having done a runner etc etc. It's not easy out there, car workshops are a tough gig. So people are rightly quite wary if things don't sound right straight away.
  12. Yep - Traction Tyres for me. Have used them on/off for 8 years. Just ensure you book ahead - they are very busy usually (a good sign IMO). Once I got more serious I used Racepace for the GT-R, they set up their own cars depending on various factors but that's probably not down your alley.
  13. Day started nearly an hour late and slow recovery. Probably cost at least an entire full session for everyone... And there was other issues with some guys going 100% while course was under yellow's on more than one occasion, having shit like that come flying up behind you mid-corner isn't intelligent and very, very dangerous... People need to use some brains. But that aside Circuit Club ran a good day, am very thankful all sessions were timed - good move that one. Some guys mention issue with traffic but I didn't have many drama's. I was fast enough that if I went out last, the guys that went out first wouldn't quite catch me. It wouldn't have been the same if I was 5-10 sec slower though. So thumbs up from my corner! Would attend again. Although I didn't make as good use as I should've due to exhaust gasket blowout which then fell off entirely on way home. Fixed it yesty and turned out the other side had *juuuust* started to come lose as well.
  14. I've never got anything but invoicing - car is a tax deduction... But yeah, not registered for GST is never a good sign
  15. Hawkins turbos are more resembling of a -5 now than a -7. Hard to directly compare to your average joe with of-shelf items You knew someone that had it too, long ago now though lol - Me All info here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/350440-dyno-comparo-various-twins-rb26/
  16. Can confirm. Same part. The SS-V here gets what the US get standard - same caliper. That's talking VF though, not VE. Unsure of VE, they've mad some silly changes between VE/VF even though it's essentially the same car
  17. Still no supplementary regs with any real information... Worrying. Oh and put your hands up please for BBQ (and if you are +1 etc etc)... I forgot to post up about that. I'm coming and bringing the usual delights
  18. I recall doing a limiter launch about 5km after new Nismo Clutch install. Did 400+ launches and 20k km there after, still worked fine
  19. Yeah lots of VE/VF owners doing this upgrade. It's reasonably cheap, not $550 cheap though once you get to AUD.
  20. I don't recall where I said anything of the sort... Pretty clear I think. Although I've gotta admit I did have a chuckle. I didn't even mention any workshop names! I didn't say one or the other was better. Rather the OP should to go talk with people and workshops (ie, more than one) and make his own decision based upon that and the overall package, not just a single component of it and what can be offered (reasons/thoughts etc). If the OP has already considered that and what I said wasn't a lot of benefit, great. If OP had not considered and has some more stuff to think about, happy to have provided something else to add to the discussion. Nothing more/less than that gents.
  21. Well I had a laugh at this thread. Rule #1 - never just go buy a whole bunch of parts and rock up on someone's door saying "turn this into dinner please". Everyone workshop has their way. They have their way for a reason. They have their reasons because they achieve their results depending on the many different factors that one needs to consider. It's relatively easy to build a motor to make power. It is but a tiny part of a larger puzzle, an important one of course but then, aren't they all? (now I got off-topic a little here, so stop reading if you want) However there is also more to a time attack/single lap set-up than just a motor and this is where some workshops far excel others. Not many workshops actually have cars doing 1.41-1.43s around Phillip Island or 1.14s around Sandown... If you've got cars doing that, on relatively reasonable budgets, then you've gotta be doing something right - those are the workshops/people you wanna be dealing with IMO. Also the owners of the cars doing those times are SAU-Vic Club members, so coming along to events and listening/asking their advice will also benefit you a significant amount. Most of them have been around for years and know who the good people are that have done R&D, track testing of products etc. In Vic with Skylines - there is not a lot of choice of workshops that have this level of knowledge/experience. There is a lot more up in SYD and QLD IMO. And come on Daz - you've driven your car maybe 100kms in 5 years, all of it up and down the HWY... You've never actually raced it around a circuit - very different applications
  22. Great day. I certainly had a ball - hopefully people enjoyed the sound of V8 goodness Anyone that has video, please PM me - our 'team videographer' failed and didn't have charged batteries... Amateur.
  23. I love my twin 3" DPE on my LS3 Sounds excellent... And of course drone @ 80km/h in 6th, that's just a given. Note definitely changed after the first 200km too, much deeper... That said I got it REAL hot fast, most would probably take 1,000km to do that.
  24. Going by the pics - looked like a pretty massive event. Well done everyone! Sorry I couldn't make it - Restaurant duties were calling.
