And the cruise home from Jez's was awesome, I'm hell stoked about how the turbo feels. Stao is right, except for a little bit at the bottom end it feels just like a small block v8, just put your foot down anywhere and it pretty much just takes off! Also a testament to how well Jez tunes, even with shitty stop start north shore traffic I managed to average 18.2L/100km, which is half of my old average doing that trip! Jez, I'll keep you posted on how it goes for economy, but I've definitely already noticed the difference!

Stao, sign me up, do you need a PM with details again? Or you can deliver to Jez, as I'll be asking him to fit and retune, hopefully able to pick up another 20kw and hit my 280rwkw goal? :D

I agree, I love the overall responsive feel of a built Auto box - I also drive 45-60 each way to and from work each day through backstreets to avoid bumper to bumper traffic, far easier to just coast through in drive rather than clutch and shift every 30 - 90 seconds.

The .63 housing may have killed the power but it is an auto and I wanted response, and something over 250kw, and I won't go into previous tuner issues which made me steer away from an already installed G3. Hopefully Stao doesn't mind the comparison and my borrowing his images. Stao may be able to comment on this person's mods more, but I'm pretty confident with my setup and like Jez I'd like to see this new actuator arm fitted up and see if we can pick up more top end. Auto R33 GTS-T customer of Stao's his made very similar power, with less boost, but very similar kind of boost drop off.

Guys, what's happened to the tech nights? Only managed to get down to the first one as I don't have much time to do any forum lurking nowadays, so missed the suspension one... I like luke GTR's suggestion, maybe add more people to SAU NSW on FB or create a new group for Club events?

I agree the AFR is all over the shop - main issue the tuner is having is control of the 1000cc injectors with NISTune, bottom end is very very rich. Top end should be fine that's actually 7000 not 6200, just too much slip in box and dyno for it to read properly, the lean out is just the back off once rev limiter is hit, doesn't ping, quite the opposite, backfire on gear change cause it's too rich. Yes the return line into the hard piping has been angled away from the AFM - keeping in mind that that was happening with G3 and old piping kit. A new one needed to be fabricated cause the SS2 is a smaller turbo - almost an inch too short to fit to the old 4" setup. Yeah I've already spoken to DVSJez. will get a retune from him once I get the car back, don't want to be pinging for the 80k trip from here due to being too lean (honestly though I expect it to be too rich over 3000) to Somersby, which is where he's located.

Not without a lot of playing around, best off calling MV Autos in Adelaide, they're experts in Skyline Auto boxes and could let you know exactly what needed to be altered -
Yeah I thought so, which is really annoying because the G3 may have been a better choice... Anyways it is installed and running, not tuned because 2nd gear locks into limp mode, solenoids should be here on Monday or Tuesday, then couple of hours for tune, will post up results. Even in third with the bit of lag it's nice and boosty!

Bit of a cross post, from RB25 turbo upgrade thread, but I did promise Stao to post results a while back. 98 R34 GTT - Auto Blitz return flow Trust PE II HKS pod + z32 3" Hard metal intake pipe Hypergear ATR34 G3 0.82 rear TurboSmart Eboost 2 TurboSmart FPR800 Walbro intank Bosch ID 1000cc Inj NGK BKR7ES copper spark plugs, gapped 0.8mm MV Automatics Stage 2 kit - valve body + welsh plugs Nistune Running KU31 255/30/19 on the rears A little box slip, which is why the rpm is out - redline set to 7k. Cooler was a little heat soaked after 30 something runs, and tuner wanted to play with extra load points at the bottom to fix idling. Could have pushed for 300@20psi, but it was overall too laggy to be my daily and tuner had concerns over bend shaft causing rear wheel to touch the housing. Decided to ask Stao to resize from an ATR34G3 to an ATR34SS2 to improve response. Since then there's been some box troubles, so have replaced the solenoids and upgraded 2nd gear to a billet servo. New tune *hopefully* next week, will post results then. Edit: Images fixed

I'm waiting for Stao to finish up on my SSv2, hopefully it should be through to me late next week. Install and tune should be done the following week, I'll post graphs as soon as I have them.
