has anyone seen that episode of topgear where they were talking about how drivers from finland are by fare the best drivers in the world !! this is because they actualy start learning to drive at 13 years old and to pass there drivers test they have to be able to put there car into a power slide and pull out of it , as for the posts above i totaly agree what victoria needs is driveing schools like in the usa , me personaly i drove a vp commadore and thort i was the best driver arround (drag racing drifting (well steping it out arround courners!!) handbreak turns ) all the stuff you do when you get the keys to a powerfull car and have friends that will whatch , but when i turned 19 a mate got me to start rally with him , and boy did i learn fast that i could not drive lol. i could not keep up with a 10 year old kid that was racing in a toyota carolla and i was in my worked 1.8 gemini , its true all p platers think they can drive , untill there put in a situation were you have to controll the car at speed (not just do burnouts and weave in and out of trafic on a straight road!!!) , we need more motor sport places were they car drive as a sport and learn these skills, and we need driveing schools so they can learn the basics not just be show how to past there test . sorry for the long post but i do agree and if it wasnt for rally teaching me how to drive i would have probably killed my self on the road thinking i could drive ,

ok thanks mate , yeah i got told lastnight if the bov is not working right then then it would result in a veriation of boost pressuer in the motor ??? can anyone comfirm this !!! also how would i test for that

ok some one has explained to me about how the actuator works and its like you say !, it has a diaphram that pushes the rod , one this i was also told to check was the hose leading to the actuator he said to squeeze it bit by bit all the way to the actuator , aparently some people put a carby injector or block it and drill the hole smaller to restict the air, tested my one and that wasnt the case . so your actuator is different to my one ??? you has a s2 neo yeah ? thats interesting i wonder which of us have the stock one on .

and yeah theres no whistle its just a shhhhhhhHHHHHH noise

yeah i have a pod but there is a different noise to the induction noise, when i had the standard air box the spool up sound was realy loud already just didnt hear the bov,

galios how did you go with your actuator??? i had an interesting day today !! i took an old frind of mine out for a spin and he took along something call a gtech to suposedly test my horse power rating , failed because we got like three vastly different results prob because iv never realy draged a car before to get 1/4 mile runs so i couldnt get the wheels to stop spinning and if i did i was nilly stalling it (on raceing iv ever done is on dirt (rally) the best result i got was 192hp , but hes been around turbos for a while (4 cilinders not 6 though ) and he seems to think my turbo is spooling up to quick and said its not ment to hit max boost instantly (like my car does) also a mate of his in another car said when im takeing off he can hear the induction which is normal but also that my blow off valve is always venting !! is this normal ??? he said in stead of hearing it go pttsssssss is sort of goes ssshhhhSHHSHSHHHHHHH lol hard to decribe in text . i dont know him well as hes not my mate but could this be posible and how do you test ??? , also !!!! arnt the r34 skylines ment to have a speed limiter because at we left i managed to wind the speedo past the 180km mark untill it stoped moving while i was still speading up ???? oh and anothing thing !, we noticed the car gets upto 130 heaps faster at 3/4 throttle than if i go full throttle its like i skip the boost all together ??? sorry for the long post and ofcourse this testing was all dont in a "controlled" inviroment

thats what iv been thinking but iv read on this site about the ecu going into limp mode , if thats what happend to me this id assume the motor could not rev enough for the boost to build up past 5psi right ? but then again why would it go into limp mode ? the only thing i can think of is that i acedently filled up with 95 ron fuel instead of 98 could this have done it ?

im sort of hopeing its not the case because as above someone said you cant go below the actuator rating and i indend to put a front mount and a 3" split dump pipe and high flow cat on , this will raise my boost past the caperbility of the stock turbo , im not ready for aftermarket turbo YET!!!. so ill need to change the actuator , or if its rated at 10-12 and with mods my boost goes to 13-14 can i drop it again ? or will the turbo cope due to less pressure on the exhaust side of the turbo (due to split high flow pipe)???? or am i just looking into it too much ?

ok sorry for sounding stupid , but how would i visualy see if the actuator has been modified? would it be inside it ? as for the vacume lines ill probably do that when i do my oil change as there not to expensive , the only question is the vacume line going to the actuator is that a spacific size i mean does it have to be a certain part or can i use the same as on everything else ? thanks again for your help id rather ask and sort of know what im doing other than learning after doing damage

ok im sort of understanding what your trying to say !! so if i ground the solinoid go for a run then disconnect it ans see which makes me drop to 5 psi again ??.

ok thanks for your help , so is there anyother why the car could be boosting higher ??? theres no controller and i checked for leaks and used another gauge to see if it was the gauge but my one is reading right !!! is this something you would have to have a look at to know ??? is there anyone in the cranbourne area that may wanna have a look ???

no nothing came up it just lost all revs and wouldnt boost over 5psi , it hasent happend since though ,
