  1. i just replaced my dump and cat with 3.5inch hiflow and now the exhaust sounds alot better, fujitsubo 3 1/2inch catback, same muffler but now its not that quiet anymore lol
  2. Ended up doing an intake pipe with my old man helping, cost was $80 and 2hrs stuffing round cuttting a trial fitting etc 4inch all the way to the airflow meter, was suprised that this pipe was going to cost minimum $500 all you need is one 45degree 4inch bend and a 4inch to 3inch reducer and a welder.... too easy feels so good when you do the work instead of paying the cowboys. The turbo now has Zero restriction and is spooling/whistling very nicely.
  3. sounds like the most reliable position, thanks for the input guys
  4. Id be happy with 300-320rwkw with a huge torquey midrange, just ordered tomei cams, and later might go E85 with some forged pistons. is a few weeks off tuning, hoping the HD exedy will hang on too, a few issues to deal with yet. so has anyone put the air flow in the cooling line and ran 20psi without issues?
  5. ok cool , ill make sure its 40mm atleast, my thinking with the 4inch pipe and 4inch filter was that at say 20psi or later on at 24psi , it might give greater response and more power, similar to having a 3inch or 4inch dump pipe when the turbine is only 60mm it may squeeze a little more out of the setup.
  6. so run the afm just after the turbo outlet and before the intercooler and then use 4inch from turbo to filter plus use a 4inch filter pod , yes?
  7. Just need some opinions on this, would there be any benefit or even issues with a 4inch intake comming off a gtx3076 with 4inch anti surge compressor housing? thinking of having a 4inch intake then reducing down to 3inch and putting filter down in the front bumper, so second question is will the afm being X distance from turbo and having 4inch pipe behind it be an issue with idle/running?
  8. be careful with the front rims you choose, i have 18*9.5 +30 and the rim has been shaving the strut tower, the rear is 18*9.5 +30 and is safe/flush, so you might be able to squeeze 18*10 +30 rear with some guard work my car is lowish, guard is about inline with the line of the tyre tread
  9. what size is your turbo to air filter pipe? looking good
  10. Got car back last night, bit rediculous, waited 4 weeks for a dump and intake to be made, got sick of waiting so i picked it up put it together with silicon hoses and made it home after it constantly stalling on me all the way home running rich as , it stalled on me with a big line of traffic behind, i found the battery had not even been connected, its making some funny noises too, really have to be careful choosing workshops , talked to a bloke from richlands who seems decent so ill see how it goes, thanks for the offers to do the work , im still keen on a oil sep/catch can ideas.
  11. if you aint first your last grab a VB and swing ya dick in the 300kw club hahah although im not there just yet
  12. Thanks mate, maybe we could meet up on the weekend and discuss what you can do... do you have any pics of stuff you've done? are you a sheet metal worker by trade?
  13. ive been thinking bout the filter/air intake for a while and it was suggested to put he filter down in the front bumper so that it is completely open to the outside air. Obviously the filter will need cleaning more often but really what do you guys think? theoretically i think its the best solution, rather than stuff around with a cold air box wouldnt it be better to just fit the filter outside the engine bay??? sorry to hijack thread
  14. is he in brisbane? really need a pro here..
  15. bring it on!! hope you rip it up good
  16. 4weeks and i have a dump pipe i still need a steel intake pipe 3inch, can anyone suggest a good workshop that can do this for me without having to wait long periods of time? also would want catch can fabricated and cold air setup so need someone that is a pro and will do a great job any sau members in brisbane that have done this before with pics of there work im happy to consider paying some decent money for quality work.
  17. gees thats crazy, might see if they can push mine a bit, just to see what it does on 22-24psi then pull it back to 18 or 20, really good thread this one, interesting to see what happenswith your 25psi E85 set up Mick O
  18. is that ok to go upto 21psi on a stock unopened engine, i was thinking 18psi was bout the limit, not sure what tuners do with these turbo's, should they be allowed to keep going until they stop producing power or whats the point of , "thats enough for the stock motor"
  19. yeah thats my thinking, but i dont wanna come away with less than the golden 300kw or i wont be in the club lol
  20. maybe go tomei cams and gears then to guarentee it.
  21. i have a gtx3076 0.82 4bolt and external 44mm tial, what should be expected at 18-20psi with standard internals?? hoping for 300kw , is this realistic or expected??
  22. you cant go far wrong with Mobil 1 0-40 Gold,
  23. i got one off the shelf too.
  24. if it were me , i wouldnt take any chances, by the the time you've paid for it to be dyno tuning and it turns out the housing is crap ,you'll wish you'd just gone genuine, the .82 is proven over time so atleast theres confidence in it.. up to you though how much you want to give things a go and re dyno etc. i went .82 with external cause i wanted to eliminate any issues..
  25. i dont know about others, but i think if you've spent $5000 or more on your motor/mods then you dont really care about wether its $50 or $100 for an oil change, so whatever is the best is what you want, if you are just stock and staying stock then who cares whats in there, but if your upto 300kw and $$$ spent then you need to spend the money on somthing good... im happy with MOBIL gold , cost bout $100 a change and stays clean and no excess usage. and would rather put trust in a major company with lots of money to put into research and development with formula one cars using it...
