  1. that would of came out alot hey.. i cant imagine getting much traction with more camber than the standard,
  2. the wheel arch is not quite big enough to allow that width, you'd have to have the guards modified, 255ish is about the limit, maybe 265 with a good roll and pulling on the arch, and that would be with a 40offset not a 30, so it wont fill the guards as much as the 30offset with 245, 255 possibly??
  3. i think 275 is more GTR tyre width, pushing it i think, so if its flush now with 8.5 rear , it'll come out another 12.5mm so even the 255 will be close.
  4. this is a tuff question, all i can do is go off whats on mine which is the 18 by 9.5 with 30offset all round Ive just measured mine and ive got 323mm at the rear and 329mm at front, that the distance from center to the arch.. so mines bout 15mm lower and i have very firm tein coilovers Id really recommend rolling your arches , its bout $50 an arch and then theres less hit and miss with all the options you've gave, atleast on the front because when you try and get up driveways and odd angled entrances etc, on a steering lock your wheel arch might dig into the tyres. On the front , 40 offset is safe, 30 offset should be fine, and 25 offset borderline, should all clear the strut ( assuming you dont have rolled arch and the suspension a bit soft and a tight steering lock going up a driveway) if you roll the arches , all are fine On the back, 30 offset you'll have to stick with 245, might get away with no rolling wont hit strut 38 and 40 offsets you'd go 255 , with rolling 265? shouldnt hit strut Hope that helps a little, on my car the rim is about inline with the arches so i think its about the limit of offset, but others might say otherwise. feel free to correct me if im wrong anyone...
  5. Ive been trying to figure out what is the best way to set up the boost delivery on my AVCR eg, should i set it to 1BAR accross all the revs or stage it like 7psi upto 4000rpm then 1bar to 7000rpm, a small exhaust housing might get choked up fast with 1bar straight away or would it be the same?
  6. holy moley!! a skyline ute, looks nice too
  7. I dont know anything bout supra's , just noting that two of the top tuners in japan seemed to favour the GTR motor over the supra motor, but they used the supra's body and gearbox. I dont know about troll school either, but i know theres a lot of monkey's on the gold coast!!!
  8. ok well ill see if i can track some of those tyres down, will just have to see about the power side of it, though you may well be right, could do with a check on the dyno to see if the boost controller is getting the most out of the setup.. just dont wanna pay for a full tune again
  9. was $120 which included 4 wheels aligned and camber adjustment, took an hour
  10. to be honest ive never been in a 1J powered car so i may change my mind .. lol. I have a video and theres a Jap Guy called SMOKEY NAGATA , hes a top tuner in japan, dont know if you guys have seen his DVD, he does burn outs and over 300km/hr runs on the street, his mate also drive a GTR, hes also a top tuner. anyhow, in his video his uses a supra but puts the GTR engine in with the supra 6speed , he does this to two supra's cause the body is better aerodynmics apparently and also has a V8GTR which hammers too.. If the 1J was so much better how come he doesnt use it?? must be a reason or maybe hes just a nissan fan
  11. 40offset is very conservative, no problem with that offset, those specs done easy could go 9.5 on back with 30offset, that be filing up arch, front id say 9inch with 30 offset, will need rolling on back and front still id say, the front becomes an issue when you want to go up a driveway and the wheel has to turn and come up into the wheel arch, full lock hits the strut. depends what your after really
  12. wasnt refering to the suspension, was refering to the torque and pull in the motor
  13. actually i can confirm that it would start, mine does without the airflow, just wont rev up ( with standard computer)
  14. never underestimate an rb, there no slouch..
  15. thanks for that referrel, i took it there and the car is alot better now, drives and handles alot better. nice
  16. covering my ears now, lalalalalallaalal dont hear anything, mm skyline lalalalla
  17. yeah thats right, could really just put shell helix in , probably wont notice the difference over a few years, i just dont like to skimp, but probably end up doing the rb30/25 deal eventually cause i dont wanna sell after spending thousands on it now..
  18. bump $120 nothing wrong with it, few small holes not hard to weld up, 3 1/2 inch
  19. yeah the twin turbo supra is a good motor, but i thought there were like 5k more than a skyline for similar model ill always be a vl turbo guy, they've always impressed me to bits, just bit old in the tooth now
  20. $2000 over 100 000kms for alot of people who dont daily drive there cars thats like 10yrs +, twice a year change, so $15/month for the best oil, but lets not go into too much detail here ok, lol
  21. whats better than a r33 skyline for 10k then?? seems to be ones around with gt30 and 250kwplus... so id like to know whats better and same year or newer??
  22. I think mobil Gold is my choice, i never used oil using that one, now i use a little with royal purple.. so who knows lol
  23. as a value for money bang for bucks car, the skyline is surely the best , with great economy off boost great power potential and strong driveline, jap technology and a true sports car handling and feel it has to be the pick, the japs know what there doing.. enough said..
