  1. hahahahahah thats funny and true, dunno how many nights ive heard an rb exhaust noise and for a few second thought it was mine and my heart race...lol about bat ingraved into there forehead, my thoughts exactly, how dare they, fricken pricks, dont even think about it lol but seriously this is a big concern to the rb enthusiast

  3. really? i was of the understanding that a gtr did 13 flat, so a gtst should be behind a bit, i did 13.8 with a neck jarring take off at the drags 200kw's and thats not enough to hose a R8 off dont think theres much wrong with my car.. or my take off and gear changes, 175psi compression and 12psi at the time... dont think a stocker would better that, but i must be wrong...
  4. interesting how you got so many responses, ive been struggling with my teins for ages, tossing up wether to get rid of them or change springs, mine are HA and damper adjustable, obviously the springs are very stiff. Ive decided with mine that i will just put up with a little bouncing here and there, ive set the damper to what i think is ok, dam good on a perfect road, but bit uncomfortable on a rough road, and dangerous on a rough fast road taking corners.. but id rather put that money toward a gt30 than stuff around buying more coilovers, they can be bearable if you can adjust the damper , definitely no good at the drags lol.. ive found they are better when the car is lower rather than higher, the spring is longer if its lower.. correct me if im wrong but thats where ive found it to be best.. if you were in brissy i could show you how mine handles.. but if you cant adjust damper then it could be bit hopeless.
  5. flat 13??? thats being generous!!! ive seen brand new R8s doing 13flat, or 13.5 at the drags, and the skylines with HKS garretts ( not massive turbos, probably like gtrs) doing mid 13's with a standard turbo i just cant see it going hard enough to beat a decent v8, even with over 200kws and a highflow ive been beaten by a car length by that VX R8, , and thats both with a rolling start not a wheel spinning launch

I dont think the 6.0L v8 is going to get beaten with only $1000 spent on the rb, theres too much torque and outright nasty grunt , i really think you'd need a gt30 to hose one off convincingly even if you have enough power , how good are you at launching the thing?? if you dont get a sweet launch then your toast!! and if the v8 recieves some cams and extractors and tune, then just give up lol, or spent some big money.. remember you'll lose your licence if you do 30k's over speed limit which is too easy ...

  9. selling a catback system 3 1/2 inch with cannon, has a couple of holes in it and a dent, it flows very well and puts out a decent note, its not silent like a HKS, Looking for $150, located south brissy

    if your after a cat back exhaust , i have one for sale , its 3 1/2inch straight thru with a cannon, has a dent and a small hole that needs welded or pathed,

    but can have it for $150, its a very free flowing exhaust..

I doubt you need a new turbo.. more like the actuator hasnt been put on properly or you have a leaking hose, why not get in there yourself and eliminate all these possible causes, source a second hand acutator and try it yourself i leaking hose would give you overboost, cost to replace =zip get a bright light in there and look for any soot gather around the gaskets which = leaking gasket make sure you dont have some garrett highflow, i never knew myself until i was told, you dont have a cheap split dump pipe do you?

  13. why not just go to the drags and do it the proper way? Those R8's are my bench mark, most between 13 and 14sec quarters for $1000, second hand intercooler $300, dump $200, cold air intake $50, clean out the cat for free, and ( cough cough advance the ignition a fair bit, cough cough and lots of octane booster, cough ) shortshifter for $100, new plugs $30, and then $300 for a dyno check and tune??

  17. I couldnt agree more with you.. i certainly wouldnt waste money on such an exercise its a path for those with deep pockets who want to be different... They do much worse things on Monster Garage.. they made a mustang into a lawn mower.. now how silly is that? why not just go buy a mower..

Ive mounted mine in drivers side of the spoiler, along the lower lip , i cut down the standard plate to a personal plate size and just drilled some self tapping screw along the bottem to hold it, I didnt want it mounted on the front cause it looked like it was blocking the intercooler a bit, i see that bumper has the number plate part cut out to make the mouth of the spoiler bigger, ive dont that too
  19. hey while were talking bout fuel filters , has anyone heard of other types, was talking to an old guy with a nissan patrol and he had some sort of fuel filter that had a clear section at one side of it, you could see the fuel and its colour and the crap that was in there, or maybe this was just for diesel motors?? seemed like a pretty cool looking filter or maybe not neccesary?
  20. I woul'dnt let some tight ass buy it for 10k, thats rediculus have you thought bout selling the good bits separate?? alot of goodies on it , seems to be what people do..not that im trying to get stuff off it.. such a shame..

  22. how about ditching the commodore engine and planting a vg30dett in there, wouldnt that make more sense?? big power potential and will fill the bonnet and have some cubes behind it..? transplant it and use all the jap stuff so no fabricating to accomodate an old crappy buick motor that was never really upto the task without a massive budget.. or could you somhow, do a highbrid, like vs bottem end with vg30dett head etc bolted on.. that would be like a 35gtr sort of motor, lol... :whistling: but really the thing is a big ugly looking boat isnt it?? hahah much better cars to start a project with... maybe a 84 supra ?? that could be a real sleeper and sporty too..
  23. yeah it all seems a bit fast, even the cold start, flys flys up to 1500rpm, varies a little though, somtimes lower, maybe those two idling setting of 1300 and 1200 that are on there should be altered to 1000rpm.
