  1. I understand crystal clear now Kermit, thanks for the explanation... I didnt realize they'd be blinding anyone but i take your word for it, they dont look like there for fog, i thought fog lights were a yellow colour but fair enough thanks for the imputs guys, has cleared this issue up for me cheers Mark
  2. I dont have the timeslips cause the 13.8 was like a year ago and the mid 14's i didnt want to even touch eww, get out!! lol i dont think the 60foot times would of been respectable, felt like i was doing a big burnout for 20meters and into 2nd also some slipping.. maybe a second or more lost just there.. car specs- unopened rb25det, pwr fc, highflowed using 2871r center and r33 housings, 14psi, avcr controller, usual 3inch exhaust, FMIC 18inch 9.5 rota's with 245/40 federals ( the cheapish ones), tein coilovers Ha ( had the rears set to softest setting which is still fairly hard, tried both 30psi and 20psi, 20psi helped a little but not enough.. exedy hd clutch previous time was with factory rims and 205/55 crap tyres, soft worn jap suspension, no pwr fc, only 11psi boost, no tuning, and standard clutch that started slipping by third run
  3. hmm , so that means all those late model cars could get fined and told off as well, kind of doesnt make sense that manufacturers are putting "apotties" on there cars and they are illegal maybe i should wire them up to the full beam then and use them sparingly like that ??? that would be legal then right??
  4. ive never posted anything like that before so i wouldnt know how or how much it costs, if you want to arrange it then im happy to go with that....
  5. was night time too, dont seem to be much different from a commodore or camry's bottem spotties..
  6. but the spotties are the factory ones, there not foggies, dont appear to be that bright, look similar to the headlights..
  7. 4000rpm??? shit !! im already frying them on 3000rpm... practising on the street seems to be very different from the drag strip but i guess its as close as you can get to it...
  8. yeah i know, i felt very embarressed doing such a crap time, i started out with the normal road pressure of 30psi, then by the 3rd run i thought maybe let the pressure down, so i let it down to 20psi which made a difference but not enough, the dam thing just wont grip, and that makes sense , i should put those crappy factory wheels on next time.. thanks for that tip... so rota grids 18inch would be heavy compared to factory rims then hey... should i put all four factory rims back on for drag strip?? and 20psi on back???
  9. hmm, dam laws!! you'd think it would add to safety more than be a hazard, oh well
  10. Anyone from brisbane able to recommend a good tuner??? and what they charge?? ive been told turbo tune, but are there others that are well know for there skill and value???
  11. $50 each is rediculiously cheap, tempted to just repair it and keep them
  12. Pods/skirts SOLD Front guards still for sale, they are a good upgrade $100 just have to do some fibreglass repair to one of them..................
  13. Hey guys I was driving round city the other night and got pulled up over having my spotties on , i thought that was a bit odd, he told me to turn them off and that some law has been in place for the last 18months about having them on?? said i could get fined $800, or maybe i didnt hear him right... does that sound right?? what harm does having your spotties on do? factory fitted i might add, is the police guy just a wanker or is he talking the truth???
  14. Hey guys, went to the drags last weekend and was quite dissappointed with my time, embarrassed actually, lol... after previously doing a 13.8 with 195kw and crap suspension and tyres, i couldnt seem to get any better than 14.5 and i think its due due to the wheels spin/take off... the car has much more torque and pull than before so i was expecting a low 13 as others were doing with similar power, a few things which have changed are, 18inch rims instead of factory rims, pwr fc, more boost, tein coilovers instead of worn out soft ones, heavy duty clutch instead of dying old one. any suggestions ?? even on 2500rpm i was spinning them when the 13.8time previously was hardly any spin and all acceleration.. i noticed a 450hp r33 gtst doing mid 12's with massive wheelspin ,
  15. cheers for that reply, bit more useful than the previous few.. Im no expert but when researching about oils on net, ZDDP comes up alot, the recommended level for best protection is apparently up around 1400ppm, The API standards stipulate that newer generation oils have less of ZDDP, so eg Mobil 1 SM rated, is now about 800ppm, so although it may not be the only additive it seems to be an important one none the less.
  16. Bit harsh mate, am intitiled to share an opinion based on scientific facts, i did state, ( from what i have read and heard, googled etc..) no need to be like that... if you dont like what i say, then dont comment, i thought this forum was about facts, info, helping people, whats your info based on?? show me??
  17. have 2tyres to suit 17inch wheel, 245/40's both tyres have plenty of tread atleast 50%, one has some slight damage from the guard, both suitable for street or drifting..
  18. i wasnt copying your post,
  19. you sure bout that? isnt the inducer the diameter that draws the air/gas in and exducer the diameter that expels the air/gas?? so the 60mm being talked about is the turbine inducer diameter isnt it??
  20. I changed my oil today, after much googling and reading about different oils i decided on Royal Purple, and so far im quite happy with it, what ive noticed so far is watching my boost guage, the turbo seems to boost earlier and the whistle sounds crisper,, my old oil was MOBIL 1 Gold, ive ditched mobil 1, and am convinced from what ive read that Mobil 1 is no longer the best oil, it has a reformulated lower Zddp than it previous formula of years gone by. From my understanding the level of Zddp is very important in protecting against metal metal contact thus my choice of oil, API SM oils should be avoided Royal Purple, Redline and motul 300v have high levels so they are my choice oils now... all of which are well priced
  21. Bump.....$100 for the fenders and $50 for the rest......... must be someone that wants this stuff...........
