Iruvyouskyrines Rb25Det Neo R32
AngryRB replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
That last pic looks farkin tough, looks like a GTR . did you sought out the cam timing or still just close enough is good enough...? Good to see it being enjoyed rather than in a shed like mine -
well maybe its my conclusion, the cost of mine to be made , ceramic coated and delivered from NZ was equal with 6boost without any coatings or postage so its a win in my mind, customer service was great too...
-
So in conclusion, Sinco is the best and most cost effective...

The Black Pearl - My R33 S1 Build
AngryRB replied to MC-WOSHY's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Exciting times hey... I reckon you should start playing lotto cause you must of had the only cam in history to actually wear out that gear for the Cas..... seriously.. -
That's no good, i thought 3 weeks for the Sinco was a while but that's a rediculous amount of waiting.. They should have a pile on the shelf or something considering how popular RB's are...

Whats the story there, i met the guy in person and he seemed a decent bloke.. met me on his way to brissy to save me postage too.

I reckon that gear above looks normal, every exhaust cam ive seen has rounded gear like that, the cas matches the roundness as far as i know... The poncams will be good though, more midrange -

Yeah, im not happy with the shinyness of the ceramic coated covers, i will probably end up changing them again, have to think bout will look good without being stupid... Been a few hard slog kinda days, i removed the RB3025 from my silver skyline and now she sits in the maroon beast, was a long frustrating process, almost like it didn't want to go in, played with angles etc to get it in and bolted on the mounts.. Today i been making a few efforts to keep it going, i bolted on the manifold, a few times for various reasons, sorry but im amateur lol... finally got it on, then the air con then the power steering pump, then started putting the HKS exhaust on, dam i have to say im a big big fan of the Jap gear, many dont like it but i do... am a Jap brand whore... I like showing pics so heres a bunch of them... look into the eye of the RB storm .. lol.. A big Jap Fark off muffler... Dam.. that is a nice rear end.. personally i reckon better than a GTR rear -

That an interesting diagnosis from them, i have never heard of it and cant understand it .. you sure they arn't pulling one on you? The exhaust cam is bolted to the sprocket, it can not just move retard or advance unless you have an adjustable sprocket, the CAS also goes in on some gears so its bit odd whats been said to you.. -
Thanks for the replies, my old man just suggested making up a plate so i can bolt the R33 top half plenum onto the neo bottom runners.. hmm, if my tuner were closer i could take it there.. i can either take action here or wait til it goes to him on a trailer for his thoughts/ attempts to make it run.. Is it straight forward or reasonable cost wise to have someone make an adaptor plate? I really wanna use the Neo runners , i think the R33 runners are bigger so it will have some shitty step bolting on to neo head???
-
Anyone put a neo engine or top end in an R33? I have 3025neo going in R33 and with a R33 power fc, i come accross some differences in the two manifolds, The R33 has an air reg under the runners with an electrical plug, it has a few hoses, 1 hose goes into the IAA at the back of the manifold and the other into the manifold underneath.. The R34 doesnt have the air reg under the runners and the IAA doesnt have the pipe to accept that hose either, so a different system used.. Next, the R33 IAA has two plugs purple and grey i think, but on the neo there is one grey and thats it, but a separate green connector nearby. So will this still work on the car or does it need the R33 intake manifold bolted onto the neo head for everything to just plug up and work...
-
Yeah if you can return/exchange then definitely do that... there is almost zero room even with the mods, takes long time to fit the thing up
-
Here is one i prepared earlier lol.. You can see the pipe underneath was removed and brass fitting installed uptop to make that hose easier to get on, and some shaving near that welsh plug, a fabricator can do this easy or if your local you can have this one...
-
I done this before with a cheap rail, it can work, it isn't easy and in the end we talkin bout a few mm of it fitting.. it probably will require some custom welding of shit/shaving to make it work
-
Removed the lot today, this is the package at the moment, may lose the manifold as people enquiring bout it, so as of today this what i got - Manifold with long studs and spacer - SS2 turbo in Mint condition - 3 braided lines and the oil drain hose - 3inch dump pipe shortened to fit straight up Grab it bolt on and wind up some boost, tune and get your 300kw's plus for a bargain, all you need is an intake pipe now... Absolutely no risk with this.. it will not blow blue smoke on boost or any silly shit for many years... Oh.. for the guy that wanted it for $900 today.. sorry its now solid at $1100...
-
Thats a big bad turbo, will be interested to see how the TS setup goes, there is a good youtube video of this turbo in twin scroll but on a GTR, gives you an idea of the response/performance look up ....( GTR RB26 twins vs single motive dvd)

There is always temptation to go for the big name guys with big teams of guys but i've learnt they are the ones to run from, cause you end up with an apprentice working on your R33 and the pro works on the 35GTR... see how you go

R33 Rb25det Injectors

Best put it on a car trailer/tow truck and straight to the tuner before you do any damage to it...
