  2. from what i've seen on the HKS website and others is it looks like the "silent" version has a middle oval muffler and the 409 has a hotdog style resonator.. so between those two style's of HKS hi power it could explain why they label it silent although it probably isn't..

Looking to get the best sound out of my RB3025neo without being over the top loud, have read heaps of threads, want some fresh opinions Setup details- RB3025neo , 260poncams, topmount, GT3076, 44mm tial, E85, 3 1/2inch dump and 100cell cat, current 3 1/2inch catback with jap middle muffler and X force large oval muffler.. Options so far 1) Cut jap middle muffler out and keep rest of system 2) HKS hi power 409 catback 3) cut Jap middle muffler out and replace X force muffler with Magnaflow, then add second Magnaflow if too loud... So which will sound best , will a HKS catback with restrictors still be a restriction if using E85??

  5. Plate looks good pete, not sure where i'll mount mine yet but i want that intercooler area clear for the air flow and looks better too, small details though... Exciting times ahead, ordered a sinco topmount manifold and just waiting for ceramic coating and delivery, then coat the turbo housing and see when my fabricator can get on the job.. got quite a few things for him to do , some overkill but will look sexy... Also going to have a screamer pipe and possibly a HKS hi power 409, has silencer so i know its restrictive but will use screamer for anything drag/track related so should sound the goods Got the $$ now, waiting for shit to happen is frustrating but hope it will all be done in the next 6weeks..

  9. RB's can do a shitload of km's and still run well, can remember looking at a 200k old VL turbo years ago and thinking it was like a new engine, could of wound it back to 100k and id of believed it... i'm sure every dealer winds the k's back anyway...
  10. nice engine bay johnny, but sits too low in bay, need more cubes I'd recommend a sinco top mount with GT3076 anti-surge, very delicious, carry on
  11. Can get a nice 300zx/supra for cheap these days, both as quick as a stock turbo skyline, 3L NA for the win

  13. whats the point of raising boost a few psi on stock turbo, last time i drove with stock turbo i wanted to burn the car, big 10kw's is a waste of time, just follow the normal route which is exhaust, boost controller, intercooler, turbo, computer blah blah raising boost on a stock exhaust is gay. .. sorry
  14. Car looks great, where do you source the stickers from, the black stripe makes a big difference, also is the rough painted or some kind of coating?
  15. Exhaust and intercooler mods will probably lift the boost 2psi without buying an actuator
  16. Golf's are a good unit, i have hosed off many P platers in TD golf
  17. Sell it for an NA supra or 300zx, they are pretty good for an NA

I was on about merging 1+5, 3+6 and 2+4 so you have 3 merge points then they merge into the final collector, when cyl1 fires then number 5 that fires next will have a vacuum in its runner ( venturi effect) Each merge ( 3 pairs + 1 final merge) would step up in pipe size to encourage flow , maybe start off with a small diameter pipe and get larger at each collector like a set of TRI-Y extractors on a V8 http://www.ifs.tohoku.ac.jp/edge/library/020609ppsn(kanazaki).pdf
  19. Hmm how did you make the antenna smoother? Not many r33's this good with such massive hp ..
  20. FWIW, i diluted my R33 box with engine oil and the crunching stopped, in a mazda eunos i used ATF ( dealer recommended as last resort) , that also worked a treat, if the syncho's are worn or stuffed, you have to thin the oil down...
  21. why not merge them earlier to create more merge points for extra venturi effects and group each two that will fire close together? above collective looks alot like the usual twin scroll ..
  22. I seen and been in an R31 that seemed respectable in its acceleration, got dyno tuned without the shitty intercooler and totally stock , pumped out 100kw, it had 150psi across the 6 and ran fine... so sounds like its doing pretty good to me
