  1. Is that a genuine GTR bumper or one made for the GTST? looks pretty good
  2. Gate pipe angle looks better than the 6boost mani's, nice looking bolt on package
  3. Do those earl kits suit GT30 etc turbo's or only for stock replacement? and do they have the required restrictor or is the restrictor in the turbo already?
  4. It's a GT3076 0.83rear, will have the gate on the housing... yeah i thought about high mounting it but the first setup i ever did with the stock mani felt the best so just replicating that setup to keep it simple.. With the height of this thing, it may look more mid mounted than low.. things have got tight spaced around the firewall and intake mani..
  5. Progress....... Got the RB25 flywheel, clutch and box on, i got excited a tiny bit excited to see NISMO on the flywheel but im assuming its just stock.. Then come putting the engine and box into the bay, turn't into a big job, needed some hemroid cream lol.. and finally in, looks like it sits pretty high, have to see if the bonnet will close tomorrow.. some underbody pics, can fit my hand under between the pan and power steering rack , so is some room to slot the mounts if needed.. And last shot of the turbo bolted on just for the hell of it..
  6. huh?? did you just convert back to NA or have i had too much beer?
  7. external for the win!! but that doesn't sound right, stao would have your answer surely, makes some good turbo's, my bro's SS2 impressed me on 12psi, was similar to my old setup with 3076, That dyno graph looks like my GTX3076 was like, hit 4500rpm and all hell broke lose.. bit late for me but a shitload of fun depending on what you like and your goals.. still a great drive regardless with heaps of potential though. nothing better than an angry RB
  8. That low pressure sounds more concern than the smoke, 3psi when hot is bad
  9. Is it possible that you have mixed up the fuel hoses?
  10. It is still progressing, there's a number of hoses which im not sure where they go, if anyone has a link to R34 workshop manual that would be great, im not sure where the hoses go or come from for the air reg, might have to look at some engines at the wrecker's unless someone wants a 6pack for some help lol.... here's some pics .. hoping my next post has the engine in the bay.. You can probably pick some of the hoses don't line up, i used some heater hoses off the R33 to join them to the block which also has smaller fittings, so got a couple of fitting made up to fit the larger R34 hoses to the RB30 fittings... Just want to finish build for now, but am thinking either all carbon fibre look on the covers or a mix of carbon fibre and ceramic coating on rocker covers will look good on a silver car..
  11. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/406592-rb25-neo-into-s2-r33-am-i-on-the-right-track/
  12. There pretty old motors, i'd try some thicker oil as said already, after that its valve guides, turbo etc.... the usual routine really.. later its blown ring landings etc etc
  13. How would you tune it if there's no aftermarket computer?
  14. I'll just be using my R33 S2 power FC and all its electrics with some injector plug adaptors from scotty, then rewire the Cas, that's it as far as i know, mine is neo top end.
  15. +1 for valve stem seals , how do the old plugs look?
  16. Mate, this is big mistake, you gonna regret it in years to come... trust me... these cars are too good to sell off doesnt matter how often you drive them... resist it!!
  17. Mine must of been modded already or is this stock?
  18. Hard to comprehend what this would be like on the street/track, proper angry i'd imagine..
  19. Had a few of them kind of weeks lately, very frustrating when things seem to be working against you, tip of the cap to adaptronic, sounds like awesome service , cars looking mint
  20. twin turbo 300zx yes... although would be weight difference, didnt seem to be a bottem end torquey motor like the RB30, but whatever floats ya boat..
  21. So does a VQ have lots of bottom end torque? last time i drove a VQ30dett there wasn't much happening under 4k on the stock turbo's, but a VL turbo was frying tyres from 2000rpm.. Love the dirty 30 for outright anger
  22. nissan navara's have variable vane setup i believe...
  23. Few cans of stop smoke .. and boost on Zeb!!
  24. probably wont turn on the stand cause she's high comp n race motor ...
  25. Did few more steps this morning, tried fitting up the 3/4 xspurts in stock neo rail and not happy with how far nozzle is away from the hole so i fitted the extensions with some washers for spacers.. Put the timing belt on with the two new RB30 tensioners ( double bearing) so should be nice and quiet.. aligned at close as it will go . Then lubed the top end and in the spark plug hole and turnt it by hand , bit of nervous moment lol.. was only slightly hard to turn as the rear lobes opened the valves but assuming thats normal, as a first time engine build , seeing how high the piston looks had me wondering if thats normal, pretty sure its fine though...
