Angryrb's R33 Street Sweeper
AngryRB replied to AngryRB's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Have read the oil control guide thread, but not happy with blocking the rear so what i have is 2 times 1.5 tomei restrictors, a 1.3 and a blocker... My thoughts are to use whatever stock neo's run as many have run unopened street neo's without issues, but its unclear what stock size is, its either 1.3 or 1.5 going of the tomei oil restictor info from nengun, so at this point its either use 2 of the 1.5's or 1.5 and 1.3 at the rear which is not much difference, so anyone want to add input feel free but i dont wanna block the rear .. It will hopefully pump out 350kw on the dyno and then daily ill use 1bar whatever that puts out so its reliable while i build up a forged bottom end over time... -

Dropped the head at the fabricator, and now much happier with it, guys is a legend !! love the work... My old man said it would be better if the face was a bit rougher for sealing ( hes a fitter and turner) but pretty sure it will seal with some copper spray and the clamping pressure of the ARP's.. Hoping to bolt this down tomorrow and then the manifolds but happy to take it slow and do it right first time.. Both engine builder and fabricator said not to take too much off the head cause will run into problems with tuning it if its too high in comp so taking there advice, should be around 9.5 to 1 i think which should be all good ... 6weeks wait for the dump and cooler piping fabrication at this point, must be a good business to be in, hoping to have it done before xmas fingers crossed... -

Help! Accidently Drilled Into My Rb25det Cylinder Head
AngryRB replied to RB036's topic in General Maintenance
Sounds like the shavings would already be in the oil gallery now, if you could see where the drill piece poked thru from above looking down the oil galleries then you could maybe poke a magnet attached to a hose down to collect them -

Looks good, are you doing a rear head drain too? Thinking i'll go rear head drain and maybe some baffles in the sump for good measure.. -

alot of people hiding in the shadows... lol... nice one with the belt changes, how do you decide how much is enough tension, thats always been a question in my mind, im sure it says in manual but its bit up to judgement ? -
Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
AngryRB replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hat off to statue for a good and thorough review, I'll be eyeing some Toyo Proxes in the near future, sound like the goods for a balsey RB... -
Does yours run 2 tensioners or 1 tensioner and 1 idle pulley cause in the guide it mentions that using an idle pulley increases the belt tension above normal.. just a thought

http://stevenwelsh.site.net.au/RB30_DOHC.pdf I didnt see anything about welding beads on the gallery, should make a new guide thats more detailed... old man reckons weld more material so im gonna do that, i know that people get away with it ( i usually dont have that luck and have to do shit twice) but i dont like taking chances, 2mm contact area sounds bit dodgey.. what did you do here Ben? bolt it down or weld extra material?? -

Yeah that would be cheapest way to do it, i actually got a full set you can have cheap if your interested... they'll make have the arch just over the tyres.. Just the springs cause the shocks are wasted.. -

Your right, they are all thin around the front gallery , probably 2mm which isnt brilliant, someone should add all these fine details into the Guide.. just got the head back from the shop too -
Just a local place in AUS, yeah buckets are stock.. http://performancesprings.com.au/

Thoughts On Nismo Solid Shifter?
AngryRB replied to GSX-R35's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That gear knob looks like the one in the car i drove, i assumed it was a nismo short shifter, was zero noises from it and shifts were awesome like you describe , I had to learn how to drive again cause the shifts were so fast that i was out of sync with the accelerator and clutch so crunched it a few times thanks for that link -
Went with performance valve springs and titanium retainers, should be bullet proof now

I can use some loctite on that fitting and maybe get it welded on the outside when it goes to get the dump fabricated... but yeah they should of gone the extra mile as it was at the shop for 2months but i'll work with whats there now i guess. -

Heads back, ended up getting the performance valve springs with titanium retainers as well as full recondition with VCT feed. Fitted up the coilovers, sits bit higher but have to wait til the engines in to decide final height.
