Thoughts On Nismo Solid Shifter?
AngryRB replied to GSX-R35's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've driven the 25% one, felt alot better than my stock one, much tighter and precise, made for some very quick gear changes... -

Educated Guess At The Final Tune Results
AngryRB replied to Nismo 3.2ish's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
no matter the details of this, most will look at it how it is, its was at CRD for a bloody long time, they built it so good on them for that but they didnt deliver the final result, and in alot of peoples minds that is what counts!! call it how it is... the JEZ kicked ass with it, you'll have some wobbly knees in the next week when you drop the hammer pete, so jealous right now... -

Yes, as im doing an RB30 bottom end , just thinking about the neo head and manifold mating with the S2 power fc and wires sensors etc etc I know the Cas is different..
-
so how would it go with a neo head and intake mani bolted onto a R33 S2, will all the wiring be compatible or would you have to bolt the S2 mani onto the neo head??

Once you feel the E85 tune, i predict you'll be storing it up in 200L drums, even a 50% mix is probably heaps better for your setup than 98... -

Brand New Nissan Lifters Noisy On Start Up
AngryRB replied to LaurelPWR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had this very similar issue on an LS1, after replacing the lifters it improved but still always noise and when really hot it would make very loud banging noises, probably the cam bashing the lifters... There appeared to be normal oil pressure and i tried every viscosity of oil, the thin oil was best but eventually thinned out on the hwy and got the bashing noises after half an hour... A few possibilities i think are, the lifter bores are worn same as a sloppy piston in a bore so they bleed , picking up air in the system like the oil pick up, and also after market springs and high lift cams only make the lifters job harder too, so id of gone stock springs. Just my opinion.. Could it of had the oil restrictors blocked off or restricted? -
stuff all that, just drop a good RB30 untouched bottom end in and be happy with alot of torque

They are more designed more for racing than street arent they... the runners are much larger than a stock mani and the gate at a 90deg angle which isnt optimal for boost control... To me they seem like a large 4 into 1 extractor that V8's would use for top end and big power... But with 3L you got plenty of gas to flow anyway... -

AngryRB replied to Nismo 3.2ish's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You seen GTRNUR's results in the build thread pete, seems relevent to your situation some what, a 6466 that was maxing out with 98 at around 380ish , but he's getting full boost much earlier than your 4000rpm goal ... -

XKLABA- yeah fair enough, just seems a shame, a 3.2L off boost you'd think would have enough to satisfy off boost even as the VL non turbo was good, I just envisioned the 3.2L would be good then after say 3500rpm it would be an animal to the redline.... hence the GTX35.. but I have only experienced a 320kw gtst pulling form 4000rpm.. so hence my question.... I thought that was pretty ok really ..that is the little wait before the storm.. -

why you want bottom end so much pete? you got such a good engine build and revs to 8000rpm why not just bolt something that would kick ass from 4000rpm onward like a GTX35 cause the 3.2L should be fine as is for bottom end, then you could go to track and use 450kw's to have your fun... -
Rb25neo Turbo Setup - Opinions/recommendations
AngryRB replied to Kmac92's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
lol.. yeah i went TS after looking at Owens graph above, maybe having the two gates made the difference compared to my one gate on the snail... -
Rb25neo Turbo Setup - Opinions/recommendations
AngryRB replied to Kmac92's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah, i was expecting full boost of 20psi at 3500rpm, the GTX on stock mani did 20psi at 3800rpm with exact same tune etc... This short clip you can see nothing happens till almost 5000rpm so it was not like a 0.63open at all.. -
Rb25neo Turbo Setup - Opinions/recommendations
AngryRB replied to Kmac92's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
When i had TS0.82 on a 6boost, felt same as an open 0.82 on stock mani, but i lost 500rpms response for some reason, was same tune and everything else identical.. single gate on the housing but further around the snail so maybe that caused it? E85 Stock mani, gate off housing was best setup... -
If it helps, i spoke to them not long ago and they do have sets for neo, come with titanium retainers and around the 550AUD..
