  1. why would you bother ? 1000cc bosch injectors are cheap, ask scotty
  2. my pick is mobil 0-40w fully synthetic with a bottle of Zddp additive,
  3. Most people say you don't need a forged engine for 300kw's, so what about a conversion to E85 for safety and keep the $5-6k up your sleeve for future repairs.
  4. If you look at 34Geeteetee's build, then that would suggest upwards of 30psi on a healthy neo head? If your not using E85 then I know my tuner didn't want to use too much boost in case the valves got burnt.
  5. never got a power run, it broke a ring landing from me playing with the boost controller, wasn't lacking power just felt lazy, full boost 4400rpm and more progressive, just some food for thought ,
  6. Well I cant prove it was the manifold, but the setup was identical and tune was identical for both, external gate same, simply swapped stock manifold GTX3076 with gate off housing to a 6boost TS with GT3076 with TS rear and it lost response , about 500rpm, that was a single gate though so maybe that effected things.
  7. Yeah I think most manifold's are built for massive horsepower and not the responsive streeter, when I went a 6boost manifold over stock, the runners were longer and diameter larger than stock, and pretty sure it was the cause of lost response over stock manifold.
  8. Hey stao, have fitted up the SS2 you supplied to my brothers R33 , runs at 0.8bar, even at this pressure it pulls pretty hard, I would compare it to be very similar to the GT3076 and GTX3076 I had on my car, although his car seems to be one of those cars that just hauls.. lol
  9. Definitely run E85 and ditch those injectors and pump for Xspurts and 400Lp/h walbro, then bolt a either a GT2871 0.8rear or a GT3071 or a hypergear equivalent. Going cheap on dump pipes and all the bolt on's will lead to disappointments, and headaches.
  10. RB30det time.. and yes turbo needs done too lol...
  11. shit that was a good gain Ben, from what ive read on all the forums, they are have a shit tune from the factory, I guess I was thinking the E85 would allow the timing to be fully advanced and give it heaps more low end pull. I'm happy with it at moment, its an auto and I'm getting 10.7L/100km's which I think is brilliant as its a daily and attracts zero attention. Goals for it is to pick up as much low to mid range torque and keep its good economy, was thinking E85 would bump it up to 15L/100km's but I guess the other stuff is needed then anyway.
  12. Not sure if I can bring this up here, im thinking if E85 conversion on a stock car is worth while for a first mod or not... in my case I have an Ls1 SS ute and thinking wether a simple E85 mafless tune with OTR would be the best value and worthwhile mod to do.. also if you had a R32/33/34 wether an E85 conversion would be best done first... Usually you do the exhaust, cold air intake , high flow etc but what would be the outcome with keeping stock and just converting the fuel system and running E85? good idea or no good? thinking I could gain maybe 40rwkw with my ls1 using even a stock exhaust?
  13. If you blended up veges and fruits into a few smoothies each day, you could have as much as your wanted and not be hungry, plus detox your liver and insides, that would be a smart eating plan.
  14. GTR's sound like a nightmare, atleast with a GTS-T you could pretty much do all the labour yourself and just pay the pro's to do the machining side of it, if you had your own hoist it could be done a lot easier though, that's the biggest hurdle for the home mechanic I reckon, working off the garage floor.
  15. I'm confused lol, i thought it was an 180sx then it got a face lift, lol .. but i think you done an awesome job and made a great car, with a GTR front spoiler it will look better too, nice one.. I would imagine this thing would be lighter than an r32 or r33?
  16. :banana:If you havnt bought the turbo yet, just play it safe and get a GT3076 0,82 its proven and will satisfy most.. end of story.. also sounds awesome .. just pick your rear housing for the desired power/response , jobs done..
  17. will throw in a braided oil feed and the stock oil return, in pic it looks like its oil leaking out but there was no smoke or smells and it drove fine, its been sitting on its side in the shed for a few months so that might explain some seepage out the side im not sure.. The oil feed line and speedflow fitting cost $80 alone, so take a gamble or use it to highflow its a win win
  18. Its a band aid fix for lifters that should of been upgraded, as for the rest of the engine it will just have to cop it sweet for the first 20-30mins, does this engine do the zututututututut as well?
  19. its odd that you cant adjust the revs lower than 1000rpms, what gap are the plugs? are they getting wet cause once there wet it will never idle smooth.
  20. light weights like this? http://youtu.be/wMy3uuZResw lol
  21. that's blows my thinking away, I used to use Mobil 1 0-40w, $100/bottle, that was clear going in and only went to a honey colour after 5000k's on 98, It did change colour after one dyno session, must of been a long session cause it was very dark colour that time, maybe the car just doesn't get flogged enough for it to change colour
  22. Just watch that "biggest loser" tv show, they do a lot of exhausting training then they get nothing but healthy food to eat. Its all in the mind, probably easier to do if you play a sport cause then its not such a chore.
  23. yeah I had some Castrol edge 10-60w, it has a bad lifter problem so I tried many flushes and oil changes and still there so ill have to replace them, Also I might add, if anyones using flushes just be careful, cause after using 2 engine flushes, it seems the engine has picked up some noises, more noticeable is piston slap, probably cleaned carbon from the top of the pistons
