  1. if you want to compare to a good 3076 then it will break traction in anger at 4000rpm roll on, I like watching lithium's youtube footage of a 3076 ( correct if its not ) which is quite explosive ... Its a shame you weren't allowed to actually watch it being tuned, my tuner insisted I watch my car being tuned and it was the best experience ever, angry rb it was.. 20psi in mid and 16psi after 5k
  2. Looks like it has a lot left in it, my GTX3076 was asleep til we gave it 1.5bar thru the midrange, E85 or water/meth with boost next for 300kw's of anger..
  3. GT40's seem to put out good numbers on the RB30's , a GTX42 will make it to 600kw+ apparently
  4. Not sure what actuator you have, this is the one from my garrett housing, I think its supposed to be 14psi doesn't look hard to adjust it.
  5. I have a 0.63 Garrett housing if your interested in a swap..
  6. yeah sounds like an interesting combination, with GTX though I think of lazy onto boost but then violent in my case, but lets see what she puts out, Im positive she'll give you some interesting onto boost thrills.. 270kw is my prediction with healthy midrange. I hope they load that boost up, like 20psi then bleed it off, will be so much more angry that way..
  7. Great to see you putting the RB thru its paces, the neo sure shows its reliability and potential thru your beast, a solid performance , thumbs up!! Have enjoyed your Youtube compilations, one of the great RB's worthy of admiration, sweet sounds and sights...
  8. from my 6boost experience, Ive come away thinking that they are not great for a street car, thinking runner diameter and runner length is larger than a stock manifold and therefore creates some lag.. this is based on a gt3076 twin scroll being slower to boost than a gtx3076 using stock housing, both external 0.82 rear and using E85.. The GTX hitting 20psi at 3800rpm and the GT just over 4000rpm.. So id always stick with a stocky unless shooting for over 350kw and focused on drag racing or drift;
  9. my tuner said anything as high as 60 is a cause for concern and would need some ignition timing taken out, on E85 I never saw more than 30 even with 25psi and a gt30, but still dropped a cylinder.. my advice is to be very careful, you could easily drop a cylinder, not that hard to blow a ring landing from my experience, 3rd gear fried tyres and week later number 5 was down to 60psi
  10. I can remember being in my brothers car with a HKS2540 surging its head off, sounded like it was going to explode. He flogged it like that for a while and it gradually started smoking and he replaced with a hypergear. Was quite entertaining.
  11. What do the HTA35's sound like, do any HTA's sound like a GT3076 or a HKS T51? Looks like the cost of a GT3076 has come up closer to a HTA now or maybe im looking in the wrong places.
  12. Mine has always made that noise with the old Nissan belt then with the new belt, a mechanic friend dripped some water over the belt while it was running and it went silent so Ive been bit confused about where the noise comes from. How can you know if you have the right tension, is there a special tool for measuring it?
  13. pretty good GTR clip this one and this 32gtr sounds mental enjoy..
  14. My point was, the maker of the cams suggests that changing the timing of there cams will affect idle and low end torque, extra duration creates poor combustion efficiency at low rpm, so at 200rpm it would loose a lot of compression on a test if OP has increased the Overlap. http://www.rhdjapan.com/tomei-camshafts-poncam-rb26dett.html
  15. I don't understand why the cams were adjusted, says on the RHDjapan website that they are a drop in cam which don't need adjustment and if adjusted 1degree will dramatically impact idle and low end torque. If it affects idle then that means compression test will be crap. Maybe set the cams to normal position and retest?
  16. I know my r33 gtst dropped by 20psi with poncams, that's on standard marks.
  17. Would you say the rb30 piston is stronger than an rb25 piston? does anyone know if the ring landings are the same thickness, ive heard the 25 is prone to failure Im thinking of using RB25 pistons and decking the block, cause my block is worn.
  18. a quick google suggests that 0.1mm is 4thou? so will you be happy with that much clearance?
  19. some more RB30 motivation
  20. It really isn't hard to fit aftermarket rail as Arts did, and i did with 1000cc xspurts, just some stuffing around but very doable. Just paint it black for stealth look.
  21. has it been confirmed that a stock r34 rail wont fit a r33 manifold?
  22. so no ones measured the bore of there block to see if its worn? i guess ill just check a vl commodore manual then and compare, just wondering what people have done and how much the clearance was. My au falcon has 200psi each cylinder and there supposed to be 9.6 if i have that right, so with the rb2530 im thinking that's a good guideline??? maybe someone has done a comp test and knows what it should be with 9.5??
  23. for those people reusing stock bottom ends, have you measured the bores on the blocks? what bore size have you encountered? Wondering what the acceptable piston to bore clearance has been and weather you've had any piston slap, cause i hate piston slap and want to avoid it. will be taking the head off my purchased rb30 and want to know what bore size is acceptable and whats a shithouse result, im assuming more than a 3thou piston bore clearance is getting unacceptable.. my old man says that the pistons will wear more than the bore.. is this right? sorry if this has been covered but is it ok to bolt the head on with new head gasket and do a comp test to check the ratio and then strip and reuse the head gasket? im assuming if i got like 150psi id take it off and shave head a thou or two then bolt it back on to get my 9.5.. but hopefully it would be up at the 170psi the first time..
