  1. well he had a 2876 which has blown, now wants the 250-300kw without massive lag, just looking at options with a reasonable budget in mind, theres no secondhand gt3076's for sale at moment but theres a few of these 3576's.
  2. yep agreed, the rear housing would have to be changed from the 1.06 maybe not worthwhile for a street car.
  3. yeah, a mates r33, you'd think boost response would be better than a GT3540?
  4. why not? have you seen any results from one?
  5. just after some opinions, talking bout the factory ford FG XR6 turbo, is it a good turbo? how much laggier than a gt3076 would it be? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/melbourne-region/other-parts-accessories/fg-garrett-turbo-35-76-/1030371620
  6. surges?? mine never did, but they are a frickin animal no doubts at all
  7. what was the compression of the motor you bought?
  8. the best action ive had was with a GTX3076, 4000rpm's = Hammer time, 1st and 2nd at WOT =Black lines layed for 50meters which is f#$k yeah feeling.. 3rd= hold on If you can do this then you know you got a wild ride, the rest is up to you and the tyres, suspension and right foot control, but personally this has set the bar for me... and now disappointed with anything less
  9. they seem to be mostly auto's, how do you rate the strength/longevity of the auto?
  10. sounds bout right to me, with same mods as you, I had a power fc installed and it made bout 10-15kw's more, and it was running very rich with stock computer..
  11. this is pretty decent
  12. ive tried advancing mine with stock computer and adding octane booster, went pretty hard down the quarter mile lol.. but not a good idea I know.. That skyline pictured must go hard by the way... side note: give me a link to your build thread for the 300zx, im not far behind lol
  13. yeah will do, should be happening in the next couple of months, will have it put on the same dyno too for direct comparison to the RB with GTX3076 on ethanol. Hopefully it will sound as good as the rb, its hard to beat the sound of a GT3076 at full boost on an RB25.. but we'll see...
  14. I was running a 3 1/2inch system with a 3inch Xforce oval muffler, before that I had a 4inch nurspec ( bloody noisy), fujitsubo( quiet but 2inch restrictor) and I found the Xforce muffler great for flow and noise was perfect.
  15. Thanks for all the advice guys, cant wait to pick one up, just have to offload my now stock r33 and then start the 300ZX search..
  16. the GT35 will be like a "brutal quickie" ,
  17. The diesel turbo's mentioned are at maximum torque at 2000rpm or less and have either open pipes or large exhausts, im guessing that combo must spin the smaller turbines up really fast in comparison to our petrol engines.
  18. Its not a great result but they are mostly within 10% of each other so probably just acceptable, maybe redo the test a few times and also a leak down test to see if it changes. How does the car drive/idle?
  19. I wonder how the 300zx would go with a couple of GT3076's, maybe just the CHRA's inside the stock housings, probably a laggy combo for a street 300-400kw but the sound of them would be amazing ... ill keep dreaming
  20. nice build mate, go for the Walbro 416L E85 compatible pump ( pretty cheap) and some new rubber fuel lines and new filter and she's all good..
  21. Ive turnt my head many times hearing those patrols whistling at the shops, lol.. Im interested to know too
  22. never had any RnR unless it was over 12psi, used to run rich in general though so maybe that helped.. Ebay turbo's belong on fully sick ebay job skyrines..
  23. I had a garret core 2871r inside stock housings when I first bought mine, good push between 2500-4000rpm, was running 11psi making 195kw's with Zero issues, id go a hypergear and have it checked on a dyno at 7psi
  24. everyones going to be selling their gtst's now and hopping on the 300zx E85run... Its a good compromise if you cant afford a GTR or to build a rb3025
  25. that's massive meat under the curve, makes me wish I had a 300zx from the start, would of got a better result than my gtst..
