I have a GTR blow off valve on mine, have tried 2 and never had any fart noises, id say its likely to be a leak from the gasket as ive previously had the same noise from a leaking intake plenum gasket. Clean all surfaces and apply generous amounts of gasket goo and see if the noise goes away... That fart noise is the same as blowing on an A4 piece of paper with your lips which would make sense if air was leaking from the area with some pressure.

bumper silver $50 coilpacks are used, probably a few that still work well $50 3 1/2inch fujitsubo JASMA stamped cannon muffler, dent on bottem, similar to a HKS Hi-Power with restrictor inside. $60 JJR adjustable ex cam wheel $40 Intake pipe, was used with a GTX3076 on stock manifold with pod and bov return, $50 box of unknown Tial 44mm springs, guessing there for over 20psi $30 BOV's- 1GTR-$50 1stock R33- $30 located south Brisbane, message 0466 257 118 or PM open to swaps for a R33 harmonic balancer , Tial 44mm 1bar spring.

Thanks for that , sounds like a good idea, how does the pressure not leak out the cylinders down the exhaust? I found a sizable leak on the intake manifold using some carby cleaner, the bolts seem to be bottoming out before they clamp on the gasket enough so getting the old man to make me some new washers as its 3weeks wait to get more from Japan, that's the rubber spacer/washers around the plenum bolts. -

I think the engine will be the limiting factor, I was using a stock manifold and at 16psi it was making 320kw's, with 20psi thru the midrange the car was angry, rolling on in second at 4000rpm it would leave solid black lines, third had the back end wiggling .. and that's not pushing the turbo at all. other things id recommend E85 walbro intank ( cheap and easy drop in) Xspurt 1000's ( not too bad seeing you have ffp) mine at 70% with 320kw gate off the housing 100cell cat ( just a thought but what about a TS manifold and swap the rear for a TS? ) -

will be taking the car for a smoke test next week to rule out vacumn leaks, then once that's sorted book for a tune in a few weeks, I found the gtx was disappointing on 98, it was fast but just happened a bit late and lacked some wow factor. I could get a few psi low in the revs but the pull happened a bit after 4000rpm. -

If its all in the comp wheel and comp housing then could someone remake a comp wheel in a 0.7comp cover to replicate the same thing at a lower price? eg stao? not sure if its being done already .. but doesn't HTA use garrett parts and just modify them? just a thought -

If you look at the boost curve its got plenty more in it too, a flat line of 1.4bar would of made that graph even steeper.. -

Nice looking beast, I have the same rear bar and I think it makes the rear look beefy, the front bars interesting, I was thinking bout a GTR front bumper but that extension makes it look pretty decent -
Tapping on the housing is always a good thing in my opinion

So if they don't have hydraulic lifters , then you'd obviously need to adjust them as a maintenance procedure wouldn't you?
-
wow, that's expensive... if that was $100/hr , that's 70hrs work then, surely a couple of days would be enough to do that..?

Its a Power Fc with a Z32, Do you think having a 4inch intake pipe and a Z32 would cause some false readings due to volume and speed of gas flow thru the two different sized pipes.

yes its smoothed the idle out and it now doesn't stall on me anymore, seems to idle at 1200rpm when I declutch quickly instead of wanting to stall too.. the fuel pressure has some down a little and holds firm and only increasing with a flick of the throttle, so funny how much its changed will have it tuned properly in a few weeks, its interesting how a change to a 6boost manifold and a GT30 instead of a GTX30 has required more fuel, ( assuming its not a vacuum leak) .

Looking at the power fc, I decided to increase some "injector correction", funny it seems to smooth out the idle and no it sounds almost normal and isn't stalling at all, sounds a bit ballsy lol.. Can anyone tell me what that does? im thinking its increasing the fuel which kind of makes sense seeing as it wants to stall. -
may have made some progress here, in the power fc theres a function for "injector Correction" that was set at 1.000 raising this to 1.500 and also raising the idle to 1000rpm , the engine sounds almost normal and wont try to stall, can anyone make sense of this?
-
Trying to figure out why the car is idling so rough, the fuel pressure guage seems to fluctuate, at idle its between 42-43, holding the throttle open on 2000rpm it will hold on 42psi, release the throttle and the guage rises for a second on 46psi and the engine tries to stall, but the recovers and the pressure is back at 42-43psi. just need to know if that sounds normal.... and if the voltage at the pump is fluctuating or getting too high could that affect idle quality or does the computer compensate for different voltage. Another thing, does changing the setup to a twin scroll 6boost and turbo affect the engine breathing enough to create a rough idle?

Its alive again... there was no fuel pressure so I checked the fuses and the fuel pump fuse and its blown. -

well I hope not, running the Eflex gives me a little confidence that things may be ok, ill try and find out with a comp test, spark and fuel test this weekend. I guess it was a bit silly though, Im getting busy reading the RB30 threads lol... even if its a long term goal.. probably should of done that instead of the TS ... lol -
I noticed that there is a GTX2876 available, as if the GT2876 isn't bad enough, why would they even think of creating such a turbo?? What is garrett doing?

yeah true, couldn't help myself.. the knock levels were all under 20 and the previous tune was a very similar turbo but yeah its a different setup I guess. That's the spirit! The worst that could happen is a rebuild right, and then its RB30DET time.. hmmm RB30... -

Thanks nick, ill definitely check all those things out, its always had a rough idle and low rpm jerking since I first put the GTX on and tuner said it was the tomei cams that would be doing that but maybe whatever it is has finally come to a head here, be interesting to find out whats happened. Think ill just leave it alone for a few days, got the shits with it all now..
