  1. I reckon 300kw's is enough for the street, at street speeds its all about the low down torque, to me a VL turbo is/was the ultimate streeter, 3L's of good low down torque off the line with just the sound of the rb whistling thru the streets , riding the clutch for spool ups or frying second gear up a short stretch
  2. I noticed while under the car that the fuel tank looks like its out of shape, almost like its caving inwards? the car has been sitting for over 3months doing my turbo upgrade and has a quarter tank of Eflex in it, I noticed the 20L plastic fuel containers in the shed are the same, they look like they are caved inwards.. I cant remember really taking note of how the fuel tank looks before, so can some people check to see if this looks normal?
  3. yes the plenum gasket is about 3mm thick, after constant issues im fitting a cosmetic gasket recommended by KudosMotorsport, im quietly confident it will solve the issue. Apparently this is a common issue when running high boost, mine was sounding like a cat Meowing under boost.
  4. Maybe check the compression yourself to make sure, I can remember a similar thing with an r31 my bro owned, it ended up being a cracked cylinder head....
  5. So are all atp housings crap or is it a hit and miss affair?
  6. the oil line has to go in from the top, that pic looks like the drain, atleast on a garrett it would be
  7. Nice build story, pretty gutsy to start respraying the car like that and having the gauges in the dash, looks good though, unique.. Your tuner sounds expensive, I thought with 20psi you'd be up around 340kw mark but maybe its super safe.. interested in seeing pics of the paint job, I struggle with paint jobs myself..
  8. why don't you plumb a stock blow off valve in but block it with a plate?..
  9. that's pretty low, mine was 195kw with 11psi at that level of mods, id be checking the compression , check for restrictions/boost leaks I think having a pod will make it whistle more and also having exhaust leaks, the exhaust manifold could be warped and a few studs broken.
  10. running it at 20psi would give a direct and equal comparison surely, allowing the HTA to ramp up 28psi probably would effect the boost curve, can you really just follow the graph to that point and make comparisons? At 20psi , its 200rpm difference anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the two graphs were almost identical on 20psi.. its all about the transient response it seems. most people are interested in using a turbo for there stock motor so running it on 20psi would prove a lot..
  11. From what ive seen, the twin scroll GT3076 with 0.82A/R will hit 340kws ( ownliberts) compared to Matts old GT3076 single scroll making 360kw that would suggest the 0.82TS is equal to about a 0.70 single scroll T3?? Im not sure if the TS was even maxed out either..
  12. yep , gotta love that crazy whistling.. Lithium- been watching your utube vids, would love to see you do a build, love the sound of that rb, cant wait to see Mats vids of the new HTA too, great to see some angry RB's
  13. ive no doubt the HTA is probably better than the GT, but how much better if you want to run say 20psi? the above graph shows that the HTA kicks ass if you max both turbos out and run 28psi on the HTA, but what about both running 20psi to make it a fair comparison, would the HTA still beat the GT?
  14. Take some measurements and the old line to pirtek, they made me one up in 5minutes, better still take the car there
  15. wow, that sounds awesome.. was there a splitter right upto the gate? when was full boost?
  16. I would probably keep the intake plenum but switch to lowmount gt3076, the lines will likely be too long, your going to need the dump modified and a few intake pipes, the injectors if in the factory rail should be fine, you could run the gate off turbo housing to be discreet and use factory manifold with heatshield cover..
  17. the kits probably for a stock location fitment, whats the length of the oil feed line, I have a braided one here that im selling.
  18. I used a 5puk for a week and then removed it, in traffic it was terrible, my gearbox and driveline felt like it was getting raped.. Unless your car see's ALOT of track work then don't bother.. Keep in mind, the organic will take a good beating but I would imagine that the heat will get to it after prolonged abuse, so maybe a lightened flywheel with cooling slots would be a compromise, but that's another subject. I vote for NPC organic.. done..
  19. My setup has one gate, I haven't seen any results for the single gate TS on a rb25, so mine will be of interest for a comparison. I hope a single 44mm tail will be enough, will be trying it anyway.
  20. It certainly was a good call lithium, wish id of gone TS HTA now, but im still happy, looking at the printout, the HTA is running more boost than the GT3076 so is this because the GT3076 is out of efficiency and cant run that same boost?
  21. nah ill take my 320kw and leave the big power to the big players.. some crazy power there , congrats
  22. did they max that turbo out or just decide that was enough? do you still have the mental whiste? Hey everyone!! the drinks are on matt tonight in celebration lol
  23. awesome result!! how did you get the extra 30kw's?
  24. face plant, someone delete that post, thread clean up .. chop chop..
  25. swap it for Hypergears VNT and get 400kw.. do it!!
