  1. Just out of interest, was it a mainline dyno or a dynodynamics? awesome dyno curve, looks like massive area under curve..
  2. so is it not illegal then to have the highmount gear? im just wondering what the go is when you get pulled over, sounds like its just for noise and emissions then..
  3. so was the big turbo and high mount manifold given the ok then?
  4. haha, yeah I know what you mean, last time I was worried cause the I put the cams in myself and with it being all stock engine.. yeah like a wild animal, mine was really lumpy until the tune was finished, the V8 boys came out to see what was doing, and gave it the nod, reluctantly lol...
  5. Gavin uses the dyno at Hi-Power, If you ask he may let you in the dyno room to watch, I watched mine in the dyno room and he talked me through what was happening , its awesome standing next to the car while its flat out on the dyno
  6. yeah here's the details- Gavin Wood Autotech 1/23 Gibbs St Labrador QLD 4215 (07) 5529 2313 cheers. Mark
  7. Gavin Woods is the best Nissan tuner/mechanic around in my opinion, he actually drives a R33 GTR , it was previously setup for targa Tasmania, He will know what to do with your GTR, and you wont get ripped off or stuffed around, a great guy to deal with too
  8. I think the fact of the matter is that with 10psi you at hitting around the 200kw mark and at this level its time for - coilpack replacement ( highly likely) - nistune or aftermarket computer - tune so 2 options - restore to factory boost and get your butt kicked by gti r's - open wallet and spend $$$ and kick some gti r's and smoke tires while doing it lol most opt for the open wallet option
  9. Im encountering this same job at the moment, you need the right tools , Ive been cutting spanners in half to get them into the tight spaces its not a nice job to do..
  10. selling my braided oil line, It was used on my stock highflow and also GT30 when it was mounted in stock position ive gone low mount manifold now and so had to have a new one made up, its 55cm long for reference perfect condition $40 south brissy Mark 0466 257 118
  11. hmm, tough but id say a gt40 fits the required needs, plenty of potential for later on too when things get serious
  12. I think this totally kicks a gtx3076's butt, that's is an awesome dyno curve, 220ishkw at 4000rpm and still makes almost 400kw, that's crazy... there would surely be a very high demand for this turbo... hard to imagine another turbo that could deliver the response and power..
  13. im not going to get excited yet until the dyno runs, but coming along nicely, I ported the mouth of the housing out so its looking really good and will try starting the car in the morning
  14. That HKS 2835 looks like an awesome turbo, hoping my TS 3076 can come close to that level of response, interesting times ahead
  15. I passed a Transport Inspection Station that was sneakily hidden on a back road a few months back, they were busy with a few other cars but as I drove past I caught the guys eye and he eyeballed the back of my car and took his notebook out, obviously writing my rego down, luckily enough, nothing came of it.. dam hoons doing donuts in the local streets are putting the responsible drivers under increased watch and investigations.
  16. Just my opinion but I would be going a garrett style turbo/ rear housing with a 3 1/2inch dump, looking at your build pics, it looks restrictive compared to other setups
  17. I was making 320kw with 16psi, each psi increase was giving a solid 10-12 kw's so if that kept up I think it would of easily smashed 400kw, however, Ive been told after a certain psi it would stop giving so freely, if a gt3076 is rated at 520hp and has made 360kw, then a gtx should do 400kw you'd think.
  18. this^^^ , my brother has a 2876r on his rb25, it take till 3500rpm to start pulling, surges like crazy, although he managed a flat 13sec quarter with 12psi which compared to my 2871r highflow at the time on 18psi could do a 13.8 at best. when it was first bought it was fast, when the cat came off it seemed to pull like crazy but that's when the surge began.
  19. Disco- using the ZDDP appeals to me but im not sure, would the ZDDP additive alter or have any effects on the composition of the oil that's being used, example. any reactions or negative effects from the additive? If i added ZDDP additive to Mobil 1, would i be be affecting the already great qualities apart from just making it better?
  20. just use a 4inch pipe and reduce it just before the air filter , i found that when i used the GTX is didn't really respond till it got fed some E85, keep in mind that its a 400kw turbo and needs a good kick early on in the mid range to feel good, other wise it will feel lazy from my experience.
  21. that's interesting that it works on a 90deg angle, my tuners had situations like that where 6boost manifolds have had the gate at 90degrees and it will start boosting up to a bar with the gate not even attached but then theres guys that have zero problems, i didn't want to take any chances so i put the gate on the housing to make sure.
  22. yeah thick enough that ive needed to sand it off around the groove where the housing fits on, but not really a big issue I guess
  23. I don't see any probems, although the ceramic coating was a slight PITA, had to sand it off in places to get the housing back on..
  24. its not touching any A/C lines but its close as you can see in the pics, i think insulating all the wires and a/c lines will be a good idea, im not finished yet, going to do a proper heatshield over the manifold and then a big cold air intake box and feed plus painting all pipes black, to me , it almost looks kind of stockish looking? or kinda close as these mods can be, the 4inch intake is a beauty
  25. anyone know the offset of stao's wheels?
