  1. after having a GTX3076 i would suggest you go a normal GT3076 and go for the 0.63rear housing and later add ethanol.. its cheaper and more suitable for the street.
  2. I think you should maybe look at a different tuner, why would you go and sell the power fc just so this tuner can tune a "link ecu"? The power fc is perfectly capable of meeting your needs, i know this because i have one and im running a Z32 with a 4inch pipe off the gt3076 and it has a 4inch to 3inch reducer just before the Z32, its in the tune and it will be fine to do it this way... Find yourself a guy thats competent in Power fc tuning and just do it.. no problem
  3. decide how far you will go with this, and then consider buying a modded gtst or a nice 32GTR
  4. Would mounting the Gate off the exhaust housing with a Y section to split both sides of the scroll be the best way to control boost and also possibly get a better result over all with a TS? this is using one 44mm gate.. is this even possible ?
  5. i was getting flutter without blocking the BOV, so going to try a GTR one,
  6. thats looking awesome! your manifold seems to mount the turbo higher than mine, or so it seems...
  7. So i spoke to my tuner today and showed him the manifold, apparently boost spiking is very common and i should change the angle of the gate pipe. so im getting paranoid about what is the best thing to do here, options i can see 1) buy a second gate and hope that theres enough room to squeeze it all in being a low mount setup 2) try to exchange the manifold for a high mount plus have 2 gates 3) have the wastegate gate welded to the turbine housing Im starting to think option 3 would could be the best because it would fit in the tight space , and also the split is divided more equally and probably a better chance of getting pressure on the gate compared to up on the manifold where theres 6 pipes converging... is this an option?http://www.sr20-forum.com/turbo/48252-single-wastegate-twinscroll-manifold.html
  8. certainly is some piston slapping going on in that workshop.. i think the 1st yr apprentice must of got that job..
  9. so you'll need an aftermarket rail for the ID's, theres a write up in the DIY section, there not easy to setup but doable.
  10. whats the approximate cost of an Engineering Certificate? If you became a member of a car club would that help alot in getting things approved , i mean if you say the car is used for limited use on road and the mods are for the track etc etc..
  11. yeah its split manifold and turbo but theres not splitter in the gate pipe, I thought buying a 6boost all this stuff would be spot on and not need to do extra work on it. since ive gone this far should i have a splitter welded in or have it shortened ?
  12. I trial fitted this 6boost low mount with gt3076 and have a few questions. 1) is this external wastegate pipe on the right angle or will it likely over boost ( want to run 18-20psi) 2) the compressor virtually sits ontop of the engine mount, after some shaving im estimating about 10mm clearance at most, so is that enough with engine movement etc? 3) the split on the manifold doesnt run right upto the gate, will that have much effect on the results? thanks in advance.

  14. i had a gtx3076 in 0.82 external gate form and it was a little dissapointing how late the rush came on 98 fuel, even with E85 it was a doughy unless the revs were at 4000rpm onwards where it would react with massive wheelspin ( setup dependent). I dont know if an OP6 housing would flow as much as a garrett so it might have better response but then choke up top, you'd be better off with a GT3076 with a Garrett 0.63 or 0.82
  15. +1 I think a nice gt30/gt35 with a big 4inch cover ( chromed up) and sitting high on a 6boost manifold would be impressive enough, it could be set on 6psi to be tame enough for the GF and 20psi for the "nothing, nothing, wait, any sec now, hmm, wow shit!!!!!" add a big 4inch intake and dump and it looks like the business
  16. how would anyone know it wasnt just a rb25? Is it that obvious?
  17. I use an AVCR , its very useful for bring on boost early and adjusting for each gear but others may suggest better ones ... TS is twin scroll, not really needed its just better if you have extra $$$, it brings boost on earlier due to separating the exhaust gases from the manifold and merging them at a split where they hit the turbine with more energy producing better spool but at the cost of some top end..
  18. Im not convinced that cams will reduce lag, increased overlap would only be helpful once your on boost? A gt3076 is the proven formula, and get 1000cc injectors( Xspurts are not rough) for sure and an E85 400lph walbro, Npc Organic for a nice feeling street friendly clutch, and a good flowing dump and exhaust and your set.. The power fc can be tuned for E85 later, and is cheap enough, a good boost controller and tuner stock manifold will do it, but 6boost seems the best and looks awesome, i just got one today, lol OR do what im doing and go TS manifold and TS gt3076...
  19. My experience of MM was that it was run by mostly Young guys, this is significant, ive found whenever the owner or tuner is of a youngish age they tend to not know as much and its more a $$$ making business than it is about knowledge and doing it properly. You dont get to see who's tuning or working on the car, they dont allow you in the tuning room and you dont get to talk to the tuner, its give the keys and then pick it up and pay. I was given poor advice on clutch selection, then when it was done, i later pulled it off myself to find the flywheel had not been machined and the clutch pads were thick on one side and skinny on the other, to which they said was normal. They offered to swap it weeks later when id already fixed it up myself. Tuning wise was a joke, they had trouble setting up boost on a stock highflowed turbo with an AVCR, apparently it took 3hours on the dyno to troubleshoot this issue which was solved with an excuse of the actuator was bent? hmm I think i had an amature learning the trade on my car, not a pro. My tuner Gavin Woods took less than an hour on a dyno to have my setup up and running and then some final touches, that was with a whole list of part changes, injectors , afm, turbo, etc With Gavin , he is the tuner and the guy you talk too, theres no group of young guys, its ONE guy who has years of experience.
  20. what about a low mount 6boost, obviously its not factory, but it would help to hide the turbo with some added heat shields and lots of stealth black.. Ive caved in and have ordered one to get every drop of response from the split pulse 3076, as the factory manifold has started to crack even after ceramic coating it before.
  21. do you have a stock harmonic balancer with no cracks in it? message me a best price to brissy with a photo and ill take it. 0466 257 118
  22. so what would be the difference upto 300kw between stock and the 6boost? is it legal to have a low mount 6boost?
  23. the first option is probably more legal, but the second will allow adjustments and would be my pick I think, You want to be very careful about spring rates , from what I hear, fronts 8 and back 6 would be good, or go even softer , f 6 and r 4 for extra comfort.
  24. Is there any internal size difference in the HKS manifold compared to stock? wolverine- should I bother port/polishing the stock manifold and TS 0.82 ? My tuner told me to be careful I don't take too much off because ill loose response and it could affect the torque
