  1. there werent any short ones around when i did it, getting the rail and injectors in isnt too bad its, getting the top manifold on and the bolts are almost impossible to get to cause the rails in the way, almost brought me to tears
  2. BMW X5, look like very good value, theres a big power V8 version which apparently goes very well for such a heavy beast.
  3. good choice , i wouldnt bother with some high milage oil, just use the Mobil1 fully synthetic and see if it uses oil first.
  4. Looking at those graphs, the GT-RS looks very dissapointing in comparison to the gt30, even my gtx on 16psi and 98 matches it all over the graph, difference being i have external gate, just goes to show the big turbo's can pretty much match a GT-RS down low ( on the dyno anyway) but blow it away with some more boost.
  5. my idea is the injectors, maybe there a bit blocked up after so long leading to some lean running? sounds like how mine ran with simply not enough fuel, or fuel is stale.
  6. try some boiling water over it and hit the top of the screw driver with a hammer you might have to grind the head off and drill it out, who would know it was not factory anyway? just paint it black , you'd have to know rbs to know if it werent stock.
  7. maybe the just need a good test and clean, pitty i binned my old ones.
  8. im interested to know whats happened, have you tried a piece of pipe to your ear and place it on the rockers and underneath on the sump, might get closer to the noise, Id like to know what effect a few cylinders not firing would have on the crank and bearings, some late model cars can shut down individual cylinders but that would be a balanced arrangement.
  9. that graphs a bit hard to read,it starts of at about 4200rpm ( 110k's) looks very similar to my gtx3076 i must say.. bit laggier initially but stronger after the midrange
  10. 3inch looks small, better off with 3.5-4inch , cant hurt and possibly spooling might be better with a biggish turbo?
  11. I have similar problems when driving the car hard but to a much lesser extent, first will feel like its being ripped out instead of comming out of gear quick, i think a new slave would be a good idea, i dont leak oil either though.
  12. very true, 260kw for me felt like the job was only half done, 320 and the motor feels alive just dont loose control of the thing when in third and the backend wants to overtake the front .
  13. they probably like it so much, there using it for some after hours quiet road flogging sessions, R & D
  14. plus the r33 rail looks like crap InjectorsOnline=great service +prices
  15. yeah im not sure, ive jacked the wheels up and theres zero movement, i guess they could be dry or worn still, the tyres i used to have on the front ( some hero crap) got so noisey i had to replace them, so the back ones are same hero crap tyres so im thinking its an even bet between tyres and bearings, the noise is pretty much always there but loudest on the freeway.
  16. yeah great pic looks bloody cold there, how come yours revs to 8000rpm?
  17. I think bigger dump is better even if its just a placebo effect, and hook it up with a good boost controller and spike it early, ethanol or meth and alot of ignition timing obviously would help, twin scroll housing etc. My GTX woke up with ethanol and a boost spike, not sure if HPC coating the manifold and housing contributed but a good idea too
  18. lol at the grey vn ss commodore that attempted a second burnout, didnt quite have the balls to pull that one off , and the mitsubish van trying to drift..
  19. was down at powercruise on saturday saw, many skylines, a blue 32, white r33, black r33 gtr and silver gtr r32, maroon r33 the black r33 gtr was awesome , sounded like some big cams and boost, kicked ass down the straight, the silver gtr 32 won the drag part over a pretty quick blue VL turbo, anyone see that? some angry rbs held there own out there.
  20. dam that whistle is good, was that third gear? love the sound of a limiter bounce.. nice work.. was listening to that with earphones on with volume too high, got a loud dose of gate in my ears ouch... haha..
  21. thanks for the replies, a gt3582 from hypergear sounds like the cheapest quality option then, and convert to E85 and have a spike onto boost, so potential for 400kw down the track, but be happy with 230-250kw for a start.. id do a build thread but this is a skyline site and it will take alot of time on a budget quite excited how it will go, im not that into falcons really but with some personal touches it seems alright and reasonably stealth
  22. time to get the guy from the chopper on the job .. lol .. seemed to know what he was doing..
  23. dunno if we on same page .. lol.. i bought this xr6 tray back for $1200 reparable write off , its really nice condition and has 1yr old duel fuel setup and nice red, just put 18inch ford rims on so looks nice, just needs a front end fix up so im thinking a couple grand for that and a few grand for turbo conversion, id like a unique looking older car anyway cause i like old school stuff that dont have so much plastic, and being a daily driver i just want some extra torque and to hear a turbo whistling away, no plans for thrashing it much.. want it to be a reliable workhorse, the rb serves the thrashing duties..
  24. i can vouch for Xspurt1000's, im making 320kw with Eflex and there at 70%, so you will have enought for 350kw.. they idle and run great..
  25. what kind of boost do you think would be sensible for this setup with everything standard then? hoping 10psi should be fine without being silly with it, probably will convert to E85 for the fuel part, and switch over to LPG for the cruising/economy side of it which obviously Is wont be hard driving.
