  1. are you sure it is a stock turbo? could it be something else eg a 2876?
  2. drive it along side some concrete barriers like an on ramp, you'll hear it clearer, sounds like pinging to me..
  3. yep i think they are, may as well of got ID's and E85 or E85mix
  4. they retain the vct on rb25's, you'd loose alot of low rpm torque, spool etc without it
  5. Ive made over 300kw with a cooling pro intercooler, pretty sure thats what it is, only cost $400new which included the pipes and silicon bits
  6. ive heard alot of reliability issues with ba models and extra weight, and also an au would be unique so with the very small cost so far, a turbo conversion would be interesting, not for drag racing but just smooth torque for daily low revs stuff, be nice to hear a 3076 at work under there... have seen stock ba xr6 injectors, manifolds and dump for very cheap, makes it an attractive prospect, manifold would need some modifying though, Geetee- thanks mate, id take that turbo, but just at planning/considering stage..
  7. You can have either high, low or off setting, all this depends on your wastegate spring of course, its a good controller, in your lower gears like second you can increase the duty to fine tune, you can ramp it up early too just be careful if you dont know what your doing...
  8. id be thinking the turbo timer first..
  9. face palm... oh dear..
  10. is it using a power fc or stock ?
  11. Enjoying this thread, alot of nice bits in that buy, GTR dash, wheels, engine, would of been very exciting to pick up, hard to not spend more on it..
  12. thanks for the info, will raise it back up and be careful then cheers
  13. speaking of engine damage, does a few bounces off the limiter cause any of the above issues, i set my limit to 6000rpm but when the tyres loose grip its bit hard to stop it bouncing off it, id imagine in the drift and drag area they'd be doing this all the time..
  14. id be buying the parts secondhand, aim is mostly some extra bottem end torque, used as a daily, would like a similar setup to say a VL turbo where theres no intercoolers or fancy manifolds.. Does the following sound realistic: assuming 6 or 7psi like a VL turbo would run secondhand Gt3082/gt3076/gt3540 for $1000 walbro pump $160 possibly fabricate own manifold and short dump 3inch $ 800 some kind of chip/remap of computer $1000 using a fuel reg and stock injectors bought car as a repairable write off for $1200, just needs some work with the front where the bumper fits, apart from that its very nice and is dual fuel and looked after so would be an nice project for a torquey daily driver.. thoughts anyone?
  15. what would it cost to do a turbo conversion with the goal of running say 8psi for extra torque/power upto say 200rwkw...
  16. what crank are you using to rev so high? thats alot of power for a smallish exhaust and no E85
  17. had that noise before, sounded like a big fat cat letting out a meow noise. lol
  18. so you live around brissy? Id be seriously thinking larger injectors and getting on the Eflex, it should help you alot in getting to 200kw with 18psi wound up.. I highly recommend you see Gavin Woods, cant speak highly enough of his work, your just as important as the guy with the 35GTR there.
  19. Z32? i think he's a bit off that.. hope you enjoyed the service... i prefer to actually talk to the person working on my car.. what did they have to say about the result?
  20. haha, this information should be like a skylinesaustralia commandment or somthing, thou shalt never sell thy skyline for a woman. lets face it the baby can always go in the back, my boy has and he loves the "fast car" he calls it... stay strong people..
  21. love it
  22. interesting comparison to mine, looks like it needs more boost, gtx loves about 20psi onwards
  23. so how do you rate the RSR's? do they grip well? and are they a noisey tyre?
  24. 1.3bar on a stock turbo? wow... you know you can adjust it for different gears, should set it up on a dyno , should not cost much to do a couple of 4th gear pulls. wouldnt hurt to have the fuel mixtures checked anyway. then you can just add some extra duty for the low gears,
  25. whats the tag id? exhaust housing looks huge
