  1. hmm, i feel your pain.. i think raising it does make it more bouncy cause it shortens the spring (looks like it)
  2. ok so currently looking at improving traction with 320kw.. have tein Ha coilovers all round and want to make the ride soft enough to launch and hold traction, ( tyres will obviously be different part of this) so asked local tein coilover place ( fulcrum suspension) he says the springs are all the same and not so much the issue and its the shock that needs rebuilt/sorted so that it is softer and the jap setup/design blah blah is too hard.. so question... is this correct and i just need the shocks rebuilt to be softer ( apparently theres upto 4 types like single tube, double, etc) but still adjustable or is it really the springs or both???
  3. i didnt know r33's had oil coolers, where are they?
  4. I was told to use the cam gears if the motor was stock, but if using poncams which i have then all id do is make it laggier and get a bit extra at the top end, not to mention the stuffing around on the dyno and extra $$ to set up. With mild cams you can still have a lumpy idle, the idle mixture just gets played with to make it lumpy, i chose to have it mostly smooth...
  5. ^^^this.. doubt that would ever happen.. it would be embarrassing for Ford and Holden to be beaten again by nissan and the GTR is even further ahead now than it was then.. The big bosses are probably old traditional folks that hate the idea of there being a nissan turbo 4wd that would be unbeatable, its a little bit like the "kerry packer" story i think, the establishment wants things to remain how they like it, The ford and Holden brand/company relies on being popular and desirable at these races, if nissan starts competing could be a bad thing for the car sales of Holden and Ford..even though GTR's are out of the price range for most obviously. Bring a V8 touring car to japan and watch it get lapped by GTR's ..lol that would be worth watching my 2 cents
  6. theyre far from top of my list..
  7. does it have a stock computer? if not then take it for a tune
  8. how much would i raise the comp to make this work well you think? would shaving the head about 1mm off do the job?
  9. whats the worst that can happen? will it just stall or run weak if its lean or will i damage the internals? as long as it doesnt loose much it would be better than smelling petrol ..
  10. searched and couldnt find answer i wanted.. So what would happen if i used ethanol in the Cox ride on mower, i know its not knock limited etc, but it would sure smell alot better and maybe run bit smoother.. and keep the internals cleaner? nothing worse than smelling toxic exhaust fumes when your wippersnipping or mowing.. what you guys think?
  11. so you had a trailer to tow it back just in case hahaha
  12. isnt that like saying the pistons and rings dont need bed in cause if there was metal to metal they'd sieze up?? just trying to learn here excuse if i am totally wrong..
  13. LPG falcon ute for daily duty here, $50 to fill up with 80Litres and get 450-500km's
  14. bigger turbine wheel??? maybe the tuner is the problem too.. be better off with an external gate on the 0.82rear, the internal 0.82 costs more anyway..
  15. the pinging was related to putting on a quiet restrictive muffler, and that seemed to increase the coolant temp's as high as 89deg, these days it wont go higher than low 80's. have you noticed the car loosing any performance when its running at 90deg?
  16. good point, what i mean is a few octane points drop shouldnt be an issue in the rare case you cant get 100 or some eflex, if its not a daily and you want every last kw then it would help.. and most people are looking for every kw they can get for cheap..as long as it still practical for them i guess, but 98 would be less fuss.
  17. mine ran over 85 a while back and i could hear it pinging so i dont think over 85 is too good
  18. If its tuned not on the edge then he should be fine to use 98 but not be flogging it, hows that different to not being able to find 98 and having to put 91 in, you just dont be flogging it , common sense
  19. power fc,pump and tune with 100united, or 10Litres of Flex fuel to bump it up..
  20. you should have a chat to Gavin Woods, I wouldnt take my car anywhere else ever again.. He's honest and knows his stuff, he's tuned some some 1000Hp GTR's in the ignition DVD's and is involved in the international drift scene, he'll sort it out for you without the rip off.. he allowed me to watch and ask questions and brought me into the dyno room to talk me thru what was going on unlike alot of tuners/workshops that just take the keys and then give you the bill...
  21. time to complete the job with a gt30 and some ID's , dont go soft
  22. mine fits a 4inch, but reduced to 3inch at the airflow , added swing factor
  23. i liked the noise of the 255 walbro, my new 400l walbro is silent the beast would of sounded more angry with the pump noise , oh well
  24. you sure theres no restrictor inside it somewhere? is it quiet or loud? what size?
  25. im bit curious here, what would be the reason for replacing the big end bearings on a tired motor? ... would replacing them on a motor with highish km's be a good preventative measure against spinning a bearing or would that make you more likely to spin one if you have say 300kw's?
