Gt3076R Leaking From Exhaust Housing !
AngryRB replied to Bratva's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i would recommend getting all those bolts from the dealer..replace the lot. cant go wrong with original factory stuff you should also get the manifold faced, pretty common for them to be warped.. save yourself doing everything twice. -
Caltex E70 And No Intercooler?
AngryRB replied to Super Drager's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
when we say intake air it would obviously be after the injector, how would it possibly be anything else.. the ethanol would be vapour going into the cylinder and have its cooling effect then, if it was anything but atomised/vapour then surely the engine wouldnt be running too well because it would be trying to compress a liquid would it not? I would imagine it would be like throwing some water on a hot pan, instant vapour and reduction in heat . I doubt drag cars would not have a radiator because there running methanol, wouldnt it have more to do with only running for 400meters and for like 2minutes? -

Skyline R33 S2 Running Rich Bad Fuel Economy Etc
AngryRB replied to brn_20B's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
that is really bad economy... somthing wrong there big time..you must have a lead foot with a shitload of short cold start drives or the tuning is terrible... try a power fc .. or other computer.. when i switched the car was completely different.. im getting 17L/100km on ethanol for ffs.. so that tells you how bad it is... your problem to me sounds very much like a major vacumn leak or exhaust restriction, bet your intake manifold gasket is gone or hoses.....when mine was gone there was nothing for a few seconds then it accelerated.. -

dunno what you guys are on about really.. do you actually run flex fuel or are you guessing about it, cause i watched my car on the dyno and being tuned by Gavin Woods whom i fully have confidence and respect for... does an awesome job and absolutely safe tunes... when you go get a job as a tuner and succeed like he has then come back and preach your knowledge with results like he has and then ill agree with you..MAYBE just trying to help with some constructive comments.. GL with it the 300ZX should love it.. ive drove a 300ZX non turbo and turbo and even the non turbo had balls so will be interesting whatever you do -

Thoughts On R25 On Eflex Vs The Rb30 Route .
AngryRB replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i think ive lost what we were talking bout here... i thought we were talking bout wether an rb25 with GTRS turbo would kick ass on E85 and i was saying he would... and wouldnt need more boost and that with extra timing he'd gain even.. i know v8's dont really gain unless they are knock limited, and normal cars dont either ... but his car will gain cause it would only be able to run so much timing with that smallish turbo wouldnt it??? and also only so much boost before it got too hot from backpressure??? so the answer is yes.. more power from "JUST extra timing and you like more power from EXTRA boost" ..i think thats about right isnt it? -

AngryRB replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
every turbo car is knock limited isnt it?? or wouldnt they all just run maximum advance all the time?? mine managed 6 extra degrees advance and that made 40kw so thats proof... i dont think were talking about v8's here , were talking bout disco potato's GTRS turbo'd RB25 so he will pick up kw's everywhere.. or have i read it wrong?? it has less energy but you use more, its heavy and can take more timing and more boost so it works out better ... i dont think it needs more timing but will put out more with more timing. bottem line, yes you need extra timing ... and if extra boost then you'll gain even more.. but with just timing you will still gain alot -

if doing it again i would go gt3076 with 0.63rear external, but i dont dislike the gtx, upto 3500rpm its respectable, on 4000rpm its a violent weapon and fries tires ... third is scary.. pulls and never runs out of steam.. must be experienced... to share my experience ( last 2 weeks) i have seen 400km on about 75L ( 17L/100km compared to 11-12/L on 98) of Eflex fuel and ill admit my tune is probably on the rich side to account for variation in the concentration of Ethanol in the fuel which i was informed and have accepted... the driving was a mix of highway and some squirts.. and really i dont care.. i have the power and i have the servo's reasonably close.. the fact that it has the power in reserve makes it ok to me with it being a weekend mostly vehicle.. so i dont think you should count on it being better than that.. cause you might be dissapointed.. it smells awesome and wont dissapoint you though .. my performance increase on my car was all ignition timing. i didnt increase boost on mine except in the midrange apart from that it was all timing.. 6 degrees extra was 40kw from 3500rpm to redline.. no extra boost needed... so you will love it. and its all extra safety... which makes it that much better...liquid gold i say ... -

less than 5knock just means your soft cock lol -
Caltex E70 And No Intercooler?
AngryRB replied to Super Drager's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well, judge me all you like, im just saying 20psi 320kw and very very little knock with 6degrees of extra timing ... im confident that this fuel would do ok with only 14psi and conservative timing and still make some decent numbers, but i did say put an intercooler on it didnt i?? ill say again.. its very good fuel and you can achieve above and beyond 98 ,, my tuner will vouch for that too -
Caltex E70 And No Intercooler?
AngryRB replied to Super Drager's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i would be suprised if it didnt cope, me and my tuner are amazed how good this stuff is, im running no more than 20knock on the power fc... its sweet as but you'd be silly not to do a GTR intercooler atleast... my intercooler was only $400 and $300 to fit up so dont try and be cheap with it or you'll end up getting a crap result.. wow.. just saw you got 3L twin... man that has massive potential with some decent turbo's and E85... happy times ahead if that is done right.. a 300zx was my second choice of car if i didnt get the r33... -

Skyline R33 S2 Running Rich Bad Fuel Economy Etc
AngryRB replied to brn_20B's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
when i had stock computer, i had black puff's of smoke just reversing the thing, seemed to run very much on rich side, that was with the FMIC and 3inch exhaust... id put stock blow off valve on for a start...then get a power fc and tune.. whats your compression like and how much city driving/squirts you doing? mine was always bout 10-12L/100km with a mix of driving but improved alot with a power fc -
Gt3076R Leaking From Exhaust Housing !
AngryRB replied to Bratva's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey richard hows that turbo going? what power is it putting out? interesting how the wastegate dump returns so early, guess it would be good for making it look more stock etc.. but does it hurt the performance.. when your buying such a crucial component i would not want to compromise on using stock housings and doing that sort of exhaust outlet, -

i dont know why your bagging the gtx3076, have you actually driven one? if you were in mine and felt the nastiness at 4000rpm you would change your mind, the gt3076 may be at most upto 500rpm sooner response but the gtx really doesnt deserve the "bit of a crock" comment, more like saying its less desirable if you need perfect response.. cause when it comes on it fries tyres like a V8 and thats not a bit of a crock.... experience it before you judge it i think.. mine is nothing like that comment ... i absolutely love that 4000rpm pissed off gtx -
What Is Your Vacume Of Your Rb25Det?
AngryRB replied to cosworth1971's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
good to hear its fixed, but i would of thought the boost would of gone even higher after a boost leak was fixed... when i fixed my boost leak it didnt drop in boost. you sure you didnt just find a hidden boost controller or somthing?? -
No Boost Checked Everything R33 Gtr
AngryRB replied to Hot33r8723's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ive seen a car drive perfectly ok with a blocked cat, but there was zero boost.. why would you need vacumn at the turbo actuator, it only needs to open under pressure, so what we have here are 2 turbo's which are supposedly ok... and highly likely a blocked shit cat. and zero boost. If both turbo's flow there air/pressure into the intake, then you could test each turbo individually to check if they are making proper boost..that would save stripping it all down again..?? and replace cat obviously.. -

just wondering, if its a ball bearing core, then it would would/should have a restrictor for the oil flow ?? if that restrictor was not there that might cause excessive oil pressure which could force its way out the seals could it? -

AngryRB replied to cosworth1971's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
boost creep is not to do with boost leaks its to do with the wastegate setup, if you have a leak in the hose that connects to the wastgate then yes you'll have more boost, did you hook it up correctly yet??? -

if the cat has collapsed it will not boost, take the intake pipe off and see if you can spin the compressor... any odd noises? wonder if someone left a rag in the intercooler piping.. -

ive always thought the vl turbo's were the ultimate in response for the street, on song at 2000rpm and strong... had longer gears too had a ride in a modded one few years ago ,( 13flat quarter) pulled hard from 1200rpm to the redline.. for the street that in my opinion is the ultimate responsive weapon, city street need low rev pull to have fun.. setups where nothing happens till 3500-4000rpm are bit hard to enjoy on short city streets..but each to there own.. -

he said he wants "fierce low to mid range torque and maybe top out at say 270 Kw" , which is more 0.63 territory isnt it?? -
