  1. thats a dam good power curve, you have like 45kws more at 4000rpm i think ill play with the boost controller tomorrow to see if it can be brought on earlier, seems like such a big job and $$ to go to a 0.63, maybe the GTX just needs alot more boost and water/meth to kick it up the arse...

  3. 4000rpm would be ok if it got crazy , i think ill try replacing the resonator, all the clamps with heavy duty ones, adjust boost controller, then water/meth... if im only after 320kw should i replace the compressor with the gt compressor???
  4. well i can feel the the car starting to pull a bit even low down, even off boost its not that sluggish if you know what i mean, its just so smooth rather than breaking loose at the rear that i expected with a gt30 and 280ish kw, really needs like 4500rpm and 5000rpm to really wake up, second wakes up about 4500rpm with going sideways a bit but like i said, its not as crazy as i think it should be, the tuner also said its good but it a bit of a late turbo.

Had to read this 3times to understand , i think your saying the exhaust manifold is restricting the turbo from boosting properly is that right? if the engine didnt have carbon in it it maybe have made 290ish which would of been closer to normal wouldnt it? but doesnt explain the slow boost curve.
  6. so that means buying more injectors and pump doesnt it? was reading mafia's water/meth thread, he managed to increase the timing like 7degrees more, so that would be a solid 40kw's plus and only need a small tank of it compared to a full tank of E85, seems like a win win situation, maybe tune on water/meth with 20-22psi and hope for a solid 320kw ( stock internals ) , hopefully the boost would come on atleast 500rpm sooner and quicker..
  7. the only part of the exhaust that hasnt been taken off/replaced is the resonator, it was a 3 1/2inch jap catback, i took off the silencer muffler and put on xforce 3inch, and custom dump by ERD and 100cell cat from ERD too, looks 3 1/2inch too but it was easily gaining kw's with each degree of timing , like 7kw each degree so dont think the resonator would be holding it back, but maybe.
  8. the intake pipe was done by myself, welded a 45degree 4inch pipe to a 3inch reducer and hasnt been tested, it does have a very lumpy idle and slight jerking at 2000rpm which the tuner says its the cams after playing around with fuel and ignition at those points, ERD welded the external pipe to the housing, it must be a 11psi spring in there cause low setting is 0.85 and high is 1.2bar

  11. Also the boost controller has high setting of 1.2bar and a flat duty cycle of 67%, should i raise this to 90% for the first 3000rpm, maybe that will make a difference?

KiwiRS4T-The tuner said that he has reached the limits on the 98fuel, he added just one degree more timing and it went from 278 to 285 but he said the knock was climbing too much so for safety he took it back a degree to 278, also said there might be some carbon build up inside because some rb25's can put more timing into them. Mitcho_7- full boost looks like 4400rpm 18psi, but when its set to 15psi it takes till like 5000rpm to get there, DaleFZ1- I wouldnt mind rebuilding a strong Rb30 bottem end if it were straight forward swap but reading the rb30/25 looks like it gets expensive very quick. Scotty- Its external gate, 44mm tial comming off exhaust housing, The tuner set it up, it has one hose going in top and one hose at the bottem, looks like theres heaps of duty to bring it on early, will double check though The tuner tried all the springs like 5 of them, the low boost setting is .8bar so whatever that spring is . What would be best/cheapist option for earlier and more aggressive response/power? RB30bottem end? water meth?E85? Housing swap? low mount aftermarket exhaust manifold?
  13. after opinions on wether it would be good idea to go down to a 0.63housing and add meth injection, the power seems a little bit late and not aggressive enough, did i just select the wrong turbo? or is E85 my answer, i dont really want to sacrifice reliability or rebuild the engine, just after more aggressive power and to hit the 300kw mark..
  14. hmm, looks like i didnt put the locking tabs back on , another job to do, Yeah those studs were replaced cause the studs were so short, but that makes sense, There is a cat next door that i havent seen for a while, maybe it got trapped under the bonnet and under gee force its meow became a meoooooooooow, ha ha
  15. really? maybe the studs need retightened then , i have only just put the manifold etc back together in the last 1000km's cheers
  16. when i hit boost, can hear a noise like a cat doing a meow!! what could this be? turbo, piping, surge, belts??? anyone have this before, its like meooooowwwwwww lol.im not joking either
  17. how streetable are those 272 cams? mine are only 256 and its on the verge of too rough on idle/stalling almost.
  18. havent read all the pages, but what do you guys think is better overall E85 or water meth? I like the idea of water meth so you only use it on a set boost or throttle point over the constant expense of E85.. but what about results like mid and top end power torque wise?

  20. yeah i know, it reacted so well to just 3psi, maybe for xmas ill get E85

Went back today for some more boost, amazing what a few psi can do, the car is alot more responsive and fries the rears with ease in second gear, lol Apparently it wouldnt handle too much timing compared to others so maybe some carbon build up in the motor , i was hoping for an easy 300kw but im very happy with how it drives.
