  1. i say you be our guinea pig and transplant a RB25DET, doing all the work yourself with your mates, so then we all know how hard it is
  2. John, can you order other items off the KTS website for us? For example, they sell rear strut braces for Y4,200 ($53) and I'd definitely be interested in one of those. Greg
  3. definitely count me in
  4. no problem, i'll take them still, check pm
  5. generally fluid is not meant to be brown. my brake fluid is yellow, I just had it changed. it used to be pink/red. my power steering fluid is a deep red.
  6. yes .... oops i missed that thread. cancel this!
  7. Adjustable castor rods from OFFICE AKI - picture attached. Their adjustable castor rods are already dirt cheap @ $380 delivered to your door but if we can get at least 5 people interested we will get a group discount. The more people over 5 we have, the greater the discount. So who's interested??? Greg
  8. It exists but its not cheap. I bought a roll of this clear "paint saver" protectant that you describe for $160. It does a good job, stops stone chips well. I've got about 2000x90cm left over and i've covered everything i want to, so if anyone is interested in the stuff: Whole 2000x60cm roll for $100 -or- 1c per square cm. I'll pay postage. Send me a pm if interested. Cheers Greg
  9. It exists but its not cheap. I bought a roll of this clear "paint saver" protectant that you describe for $150. I used it on my rear pods with good results (no more stone chips). I've got about 15m left over if anyone is interested in the stuff: Whole roll for $100 -or- $10/metre. I'll pay postage. Send me a pm if interested. Cheers Greg
  10. I've removed hicas, but thanks for the reply anyway
  11. thanks for the replies maybe its not bump steer that i get, but when travelling over bumps/grooves in the road (usually created by trucks etc), the steering wheel gets moved quite a lot.
  12. How can I eliminate bump steer? thanks
  13. You could easily do the work yourself. I did mine with no hassles. You just need a set of spring compressors. See the thread in tutorial section. I have Bilstein shocks ($225 each) and they are not that comfortable, but not that much worse than my stock shocks were. Cheers
  14. thankyou everyone for your replies kinks: what dunlops are you comparing them to?
  15. good post
  16. R32 gtst would be a smart buy. Go turbo if you can afford it, or you'll regret it once you want power, and of course sucking noises. I'm going to rely on my memory and contradict everyone here: R33 GTS25's are eligible under the SEVS scheme in that they exceed the power to weight minimum. However, the market may consider importing one not worth the import and compliance costs, implying that R33 GTS25's would not be imported under the SEVS scheme, althought they are potentially eligible. Non-turbo silvia's and RB20 R32's do not meet power to weight minimum, from memory. -Greg
  17. is it the type m bar? if so consider it sold, i can pickup on weekend.
  18. thanks for the reply. my yokohamas A539's have only lasted about 25,000km. what is the road noise and comfort like?
  19. oh and actually answering your question, RB25 generally has about 90-100kw @ the wheels stock. stock RB20 not sure but I saw funkymonkey's RB20 with extractors, exhaust, pod make 87 kw @ the wheels. rb20 is not powerful enough to move r33 boats along.
  20. how do you think the '96 R33 that you drove was registered? There are more relaxed rules for imports over 15 years old. Compliance is a lot simpler and there are no restrictions on what can be imported. Recent changes in import legislation mean that it is now a lot harder to comply vehicles that do not fall into the over 15 year category. However, it is possible, and depends on whether an importer holds compliance plates for the vehicle in question. So if you are looking at importing a vehicle, the first thing to do would be to investigate who (if anyone) holds compliance plates for that model. I know Sport and Luxury Cars in ferntree gully (VIC) holds compliance plates for R34, not sure on R33. Another importer to check out is Ultimate Performance Imports, also in VIC. I realise that you are in NSW. That is my understanding of the current import legislation anyway. Hope it helps Definitely don't get a RB20, whatever you do.
  21. I have one standard shock that has done 50,000km (so seen better days). you can have it for whatever it costs to send.
  22. In the market for some new tyres, Bridgestone GIII's are cheap enough and apparently quite grippy - does anyone here have experience with them? Especially looking for opinions on grip and road noise... Thanks Greg
  23. heard of compliance? series I r33 gts25's (before mid 1995) sell for about $15,000 max
  24. bump
