  2. what about if you have a crash - plastic is surely going to absorb much more impact than fglass? the difference may be minimal though, i dont know
  3. how many kms has the clutch been used for?
  4. wanted: boot trim, plastic boot bit that goes around the boot latch?
  5. Hey Denny, I suppose you can give them a try, but you generally get what you pay for! Cheers Greg
  6. hmm... could be tricky. i think you will need to download japanese language support/character display for your computer. can probably download it from microsoft but not sure. what program are u using? is it web-based? if its web based then its easy once u've downloaded the japanese language support (View>Encoding>Japanese) i think this is the sort of thing shan might know? EDIT: ^^what rezz said
  7. if you can get me a copy of that in japanese characters, not the crap thats displayed there, my sister can do it
  8. cheers strutto thanks for trying anyway funky
  9. last one tomorrow i should be in bed... unfortunately the skyline is in for some panel work (got rammed up arse) so theres no stress relief available there I managed to learn Management 101 in 3 days, I was just lucky they asked stuff on the exam that i actually knew though.
  10. be careful not to burn yourself! check the heat shields surrounding you cat, a friend had a similar problem for a bit. sorry i know i just contradicted myself, in my first post i was assuming that u meant the heat shield around the exhaust manifold
  11. What i was trying to say was: Does all oil flow directly past the sump plug, so as to get caught by the magnet? By placing the magnet on the filter, you are guaranteed to catch everything, because all oil has to flow through the filter - it's pumped through it. This is not necessarily the case with the sump plug...?
  12. here are the factory oil pressure specs for RB20E, RB25DE, RB25DET, RB26DETT cheers greg
  13. I was thinking the same thing... one of the filter magnets mentioned was something stupid like 1000 pounds strength. But apparently the design of these concentrates the magnetic force just around the filter, nowhere else. At this stage I'm thinking of sticking a super strong magnet to my oil and fuel filter, and drain plugs.
  14. If you stick the magnet to the drain plug, will it catch all the metal bits? Obviously it will catch whatever comes near it, but metal has to travel down through the engine first, where it may get stuck.
  15. r33 engine service manual - the JPNZ one
  16. interesting....can you plug my vin number into your system please? ecr33060459
  17. I found it while looking over the R33 service manual. Thought it might be handy for some GTR owners
  18. I beg to differ, see attachment I might be interested in a dyno run....
  19. Its not the heat shield - I get the same noise but I have aftermarket extractors, no heat shield. This came up before and I think the general consensus was that it was the cams. I've actually grown to like it - tough, raspy N/A sound
  20. ok i tested it and i confirm that it works, u can't rev past 2500rpm. when it cuts out it sounds quite violent though - is this bad for it?
  21. HICAS Diagnostic Mode There is a HICAS warning light in the instrument cluster. If it comes, on it is indicative of a problem. R32: Check the HICAS oil level (power steering reservoir in some models, or a remote reservoir accessible from the boot) R32 and R33: Check all HICAS electrical connections, and if the light remains on, follow the diagnostic below. Note that having an aftermarket steering wheel fitted without the appropriate HICAS boss adaptor can also cause the HICAS system to show a fault. Switch ignition off, transmission in neutral or auto in Park. Start engine Very quickly (with a couple of seconds), turn the steering wheel left and right about 20 degrees from centre five times, and then pump the brakes five times, then press the brake pedal once more this will enter diagnostic mode. Drive forwards or backwards about 5 metres at a speed less than 10km/hr, this will enter full diagnostic mode. The HICAS light in the instrument cluster will be flashing quickly (for normal) or will flash a code indicating any problems. Long flash = first digit, short flash = second digit. Diagnostics will return to normal after five minutes, or any speed over 10km/hr, or ignition is turned off. HICAS Diagnostic Codes 1989-1993 1 HICAS solenoid right hand 2 HICAS solenoid left hand 3 Cut off valve 4 Power steering solenoid 5 Vehicle speed sensor 6 Steering angle sensor 7 Neutral position sensor 8 (Auto) Parking brake sensor, (Manual) Clutch sensor 9 (Auto) Inhibitor switch, (Manual) Neutral sensor HICAS Diagnostic Codes 1993-1999 11 HICAS control unit 12 HICAS motor power supply not present 13 HICAS motor output not present 21 Vehicle speed sensor not present 22 Steering angle sensor not present 23 Steering angle sensor neutral or not present 24 Rear main sensor input not present 25 Rear sub sensor input not present 31 Parking brake sensor input not present 32 (Auto) Inhibitor switch input not present; (Manual) Neutral switch input not present 33 Engine speed signal not present This information from "The Sky Is The Limit, A Book Of Skyline Stuff"
