Jasma is just a regulatory body, like the EPA is Australia. It's not the brand of the muffler, but if the muffler is jasma approved it means it meets certain noise/pollution requirements and therefore is of reasonable quality. For example, my HKS system has a jasma badge on it.

I got a 2.5" hks system with 2 resonators (hotdog resonator and a 2nd small muffler). It works well - not droney AT ALL. The end main muffler is a big barrel style muffler with 2.5" inlet and has a 4.5" tip - it is not straight through in design. I suggest you copy the design of this system (resonators etc)

are bilstein shocks the same as those sold by whiteline in their sports pack? i've read that whiteline use bilsteins....

R33 GTST stock shock v.s Bilstein
Greg replied to sidewaymambo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I need new shocks in the rear end but i'm goint to do the front as well because i think it will upset the handling if i run different shocks front to rear. as the roads i drive on are pretty poor quality (not dirt roads, but corrugations, potholes, bumps etc make it uncomfortable) i want to keep the standard springs for the comfort factor, but i will get bilstein shocks as i hear it is possible to lower the car 1 inch with the grooves machined in to them. do these grooves come machined into the shocks when you buy them or do u have to take the shocks to a machining shop and get it done yourself? -
*cough* yeah must be the bmt dyno cough cough nah i think its pretty well known that the bmt dyno reads very conservatively, well that's what i'll tell myself Ryno what's your new engine?

James i wouldn't be too disappointed with your result! What exactly does the unichip do (ie what does it adjust/change)? With extractors, 2.5" cat back exhaust system and pod i only got 81rwkw (graph attached), that was at the dyno day _turtle_ mentioned. I think the reason all of our results from that day were so low is because we dynoed in 4th gear (top speed 180). Have u looked at fitting a s-afc, or does the unichip adjust the air fuel ratios to an optimal level?? Cheers, Greg

cyphen, the oil pressures you mention sound about right. oil pressure of 2-3 once warmed up is perfectly healthy and normal. when warm mine idles at about 1

if your present cat is restrictive (blocked/choked and/or small diameter) then yes you should replace it with a 2.5" cat. if you already have a 2.5" cat, performance gains by upgrading to a 3" cat would be negligable, i imagine.

be concerned then. i had 3 chicks practically following me around at a party last weekend. after they overheard me talking to a mate about my car they approached me "do YOU have a SKYLINE?" then there's the sms one of them sent me "I'd do anything for a boyfriend with a sexy car like yours". its pathetic. good for a **** but not really. when i first got car i liked the attention but i hate it now. -
