Question about petrol (probably pretty dumb)
Greg replied to r33skylinegtst's topic in General Automotive Discussion
unless you want to run the risk of ruining your engine prematurely i would put in at LEAST premium. i run 98 octane. check the thread in the NA section for more info on fuel. -
yeah i hate how much attention it gets me. like if they didn't want to talk to me before they found out what car i drove why should they afterwards! as i said i bought the car for me. i like akeenan's reply of simply "nissan", i think i'll be using that from now on
-
haha lol at all the lines. "put out or get out" i like it considering taking the back seats out...i'll save a bit of weight as well i'm so sick and tired or people getting lifts off me or just assuming that they can grab a lift. another bitch and two other my mates cracked it with me that same night because i wasn't giving them a lift home, and i was taking those 2 chicks home, even though there was never going to be room for my mates anyway and i'd told them at the start of the night they would have to catch a taxi! i bought my skyline for ME because i enjoy driving, looking after and modifying it, not to be everyones taxi or to pull the chicks (although it is a nice benefit at times;)) sorry guys i needed to vent somewhere, i'm not usually this much of a whinger!

since getting my license about 4 months ago i have noticed a lot of people have suddenly become a lot more friendly with me. i have found women to be the worst, take saturday night for example. I went to a year 11 formal with a mate of mine (I'm only in yr12, its ok) and was talking to these two chicks. to be honest i wasn't getting very far. then my mate mentioned something about getting drinks from my car and that instant they started being really talkative, even moving their dress up to show a bit of thigh and stuff - being slu tty. after a few minutes they ask me what i'm doing afterwards and invited me back to their place, only catch was that i had to give them a lift. so well aware they were probably only interested in my car (their place was on my way home anyway) i agreed to take them to their place and accepted their invitation. so we drive to their place, let them out of the car and then they literally ran inside before even saying thanks for the lift. so me and my mate were left outside. i should have expected it and we didn't really care, we just went back to mine and got shitfaced but yeah its just a bit sad that there are some people out there like that, i was wondering if anyone else here has had similar experiences? ps its different when someone is using you for your car but you are using them as well for a quick ****, it works both ways then.

does APEXi make Power FC for RB25DE?
Greg replied to mmmskyline's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i'm pretty sure they dont make one, i've never seen one in any online shops or catalogues or anything. rb25 in silvia...nice -
not sure if this has been mentioned, but buying a wrx to drive for just 6 months seems rather foolish when you consider the cost of stamp duty payable and possible rego that would need renewing.

my all time average is 11.8L/100km. i got 513km from 58L on my last tank (running it on empty), which is 11.3L/100km. i think that's not too bad considering i drive quite 'spiritedly'. i quite regularly rev to 6500rpm once it has warmed up and oil pressure has come down. edit: i run bp ultimate or mobil synergy 8000. modifications: extractors, hiflow cat, 2.5" exhaust from cat, pod filter

pretty impressive what gear did you dyno in?
-
in australia spec s is just the lower spec model - all 200sx's sold here are turbo.
-
nice car all you need now is to remove the spoiler it is obviously quicker than the skyline, but hows the handling? i imagine that would be better as well? cheers

Mr Overfenders regretfull sale
Greg replied to NightMare's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
NightMare could easily have spent 30k on the car - maybe it needed complete engine rebuild, respray, suspension work, who knows. shouldn't jump to conclusions. but yeah sick car -
yeah i have the exact same oxidation on the engine. rest of the car is immaculate so it was disappointing to see it there. i think its probably from a lifetime either in the snow (they use salt to melt it) or by the coast. i'd like to know if there's a way to get rid of this as well, but i doubt there is without a lot of elbow grease.

my 95 model r33 came in with 30000 on the clock and the car is like brand new. no wear at all on steering wheel, pedals, gearknob, carpet, seats or anything. only imperfection is a light scratch in the dash.

Are GTS springs different to GTSt springs?
Greg replied to Greg's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thanks for the replies guys Darker, so how do you like the springs? does your car hold the corners better now? how much did the springs lower it by? did you keep the standard shocks? how much were you charged for labour? sorry about all the questions! -
Are GTS springs different to GTSt springs?
Greg replied to Greg's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
http://www.belperformance.com.au/price/data.htm exhaust sound clip coming soon -
I noticed on a couple of websites some manufacturers make different springs for n/a and turbo R33's...why? i thought the suspension of the two cars was identical. is there a problem with buying springs meant for a gtst?

Sunday 12th October - Exclusive Motorsports Open Cruise
Greg replied to Sen-Dog's topic in Archived Events
i drove past the cruise just by chance near selby, saw a nice silver series II r33 with advan model 5's and a few rice but nice rex's, silvias etc. i was going to turn around and join the cruise but i was running on empty so feared running out of petrol -
hey dude, this has been covered heaps! take the time to sort back though all the threads in this naturally aspirated forum, or do a search and you will find that extractors, exhaust, cams, safc are recommended. happy reading, hope to see you on a cruise some day try these links for starters: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=25175 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=25306 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=23942 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=23020 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=20162

i first fitted a cat back, that maybe quitened the noise a little or maybe just drowned it out a little. i then fitted extractors and a hi-flow cat and the noise perhaps got a little noisier. basically changing the exhaust doesn't get rid of the sound
-
yeah i get that same noise. i've grown to like it, because everything i've tried to get rid of it has failed

I've been in the background since about august 2002. I don't post a lot, but I read a fair bit of the funny threads that get posted up around here. I've been to a couple of meets and stuff and I'm looking forward to the proper club being formed. I should meet a few old schoolers at the skidpan day
