  1. welcome mate i hope your turbo conversion goes well
  2. jacko, advan imports www.advan.co.nz (i think thats the site) have a sydney store that sells coby extractors. other than that just get them from www.partsco.com - they'll ship to your door.
  3. its adjustable you can tighten / loosen the cable.
  4. hmm... i get a similar noise but i thought that it was my pod. it could be resonance in the exhaust manifold - when i got extractors the noise got louder for me. so basically i have no idea sorry
  5. honestly do you think the pedders springs are any good?
  6. silvias have the same stuf pattern and offset is ALMOST the same. i have wheels off a silvia on my car and they are great. so yeah just keep that in mind
  7. I drove a few cars on my L's: my parents honda oddysey, commodore, VW van. Then i got my R33 and drove that for about 6 months before i got my P's. Now when i drive the oddysey after the skyline and it feels like i'm driving a bus
  8. so what's your next car? did you give up on the VH45DE?
  9. i'm not good at valuing stuff john but can you post some pics up i really want to see your car!
  10. oh yeah and for those in victoria: AVOID MR MUFFLER IN LILYDALE
  11. hey john sorry to hear your exhaust sounds shit! i was considering removing the middle muffler to give it a tougher sound but now i've read that i won't bother. i finally discovered what was making the sound, this might help you, here's the story: I was driving along and all of a sudden my exhaust got REALLY loud. i stopped and looked under the car and sure enough mr muffler (who fitted my extractors and cat) had failed to use split washers and the bolts on the cat had vibrated loose, letting exhaust gas escape. so i drove around for a bit enjoying the exhuast note () and then took it home and reversed onto ramps. i removed the cat and discovered two things: 1. mr muffler had combined 2 broken gaskets to try and make a good one, it obviously failed. 2. in the cat there was heaps of little drops of weld mr muffler had failed to remove. these 2 items were the cause of my dodgy sound - the leaky gasket and the weld droplets. so i reused an old gasket i hard lying around (it was heaps better than the ones mr muffler installed) and vacuumed all the weld droplets out of the cat. the exhaust sounds awesome now and i'm going to take a sound clip soon and post it up (just for your joe, if you're reading this ), cheers greg
  12. Joseph sorry mate i keep forgetting to borrow my brother in laws camera. however this weekend is a strong possibility do you have any webspace where i can host the file though? cheers greg
  13. i'm about to fit new springs to my standard shocks. my aim is to reduce body roll and increase stability through corners. i plan to get lower the car by about 25-30mm, and i was wondering if there is any adverse effects of this i should know about. will negative camber be a problem? also what springs should i get: kings, k-mac, whiteline, pedders?? thanks guys your opinion is appreciated Greg
  14. Darker have you done any of the mods you planned? particularly interested in if you have fitted kings springs yet as i'm planning on getting new springs soon cheers
  15. rather than start a new thread asking exactly the same thing as Denton did, i thought i'd bring this thread up from the dead can anyone provide some more detailed instructions or opinions on changing springs yourself? and yeah which is better: kings, whiteline or pedders? denton what springs did u get in the end? Thanks! Greg
  16. turn the ignition to on
  17. if i get my car lowered before it then count me in, otherwise i'd be an embarrasment to the club, it looks ridiculously high at the moment due to bad wheel/tyre combo
  18. hey denny, its weird, my fuel economy slightly improved?! the extractors do hang quite low don't they, it makes me reluctant to lower my car. i will organise that dyno day we spoke about as soon as i finish my exams (november 10) so a few of us n/a guys can compare numbers and not feel uncomfortable about the big numbers the turbos pull is there anything to 'tune' on a standard skyline? i was told u need at least SAFC or something before dyno tuning is worthwhile? cheers greg
  19. mearcat i am unsure what you mean by "air flow though the filter goes down"??? your setup sounds similar to mine, except i'm missing the 3" pvc pipe. if possible could you post some pics of your 3" pvc pipe because i want to make this. thanks
  20. Rezz great work i love your site! I was expecting a few more drift stickers and that type of thing but i guess you will add them in coming weeks as you have time
  21. if there's room i'd love to attend, but is their much point doing this seeing as my car isn't turbo? I spose i could put on the original wheels with jap tyres then i might have half a chance of doing some good drift what do you guys think? worth my while or should i wait til i get a more powerful car?
  22. haha yeah that's right just turn the system up a bit and it disapears, funny that
