how much do u want for your wheels clint? i need newies
-
actually i just read what extras the above car comes with, its not a bad buy even if it is series one. sorry bout that
-
yeah i'd put mine up at that as well, but i see them sell for about $14k all the time, and i only paid $12500 for mine (imported myself, which u can't do at the moment so i suppose i could put the price up a bit). put it this way, for $16g series1: average buy series2: excellent buy cheers

does anyone know if stealth wings are legal (because they don't have a brake light)??
-
found this info: http://www.users.bigpond.com/pgscott/reson.../resonator.html i don't think i'm going to do it after reading that...might even put my standard airbox back on...
-
S1 lasted until 95, that was the changeover year (mine is 95 and series 1). drivers airbag was an option on S1, mine also has that. as fair as i'm aware there wasn't an option for dual airbags on series1 cars.
-
if its series one its overpriced, but its a good buy for a series 2

you will need to weld a flange to the end of the coby extractors so it bolts up to your cat. apart from they they a just bolt on. make sure you get a new gasket too.

can anyone tell me what is going on here: i have an lsd, but if i have one wheel on grass/dirt and one on tar and i go to take off, it just spins the wheel on the grass/dirt. i would have thought the lsd would have transferred the power to the wheel with traction (the one on the tar) and i would have taken off normally with no spinning??? or is that what a vicious (sp) LSD does? what the hell is a vicious LSD while we are on the topic of them?
-
"7grand clutch dump, if both wheels spin u have an lsd if only one spins u dont have an lsd." LOL yeah that's the fun way, the more restrained and kind way is to get the car on a hoist or jack it up and turn one (rear) wheel . if the other one turns then you have a LSD.

fattdex - not a problem mate it was worth a try
-
fattdex, interested in selling your jap manual? you have RB25DE right? i'd be keen to buy if the price is right
-
vic only. we have all the shit rules here. 3km/h tolerance on speed limits, hefty fines and you only have to go 25km/h over to lose your license. the power restriction rules are probably for our own good though, i can see why they don't want 18 yo's driving GTR's, Ferrari's etc.

hey guys i should be able to make it, it'll be good to go on a real skylines cruise as opposed to the mccr thing i went to last weekend (i didn't realise it was mccr til i got there). does anyone mind if a mate of mine comes along in his old school 1976 celica? its still a jap car:p i'll understand if u don't want him coming though, just thought i'd ask. cheers Greg

john mate how much are u asking for your safc II? i might be interested
-
yeah the 'c' in ecr is probably for coupe
-
there goes that theory then!
-
do a search on "hicas diagnostic" then if you have any more questions post them here
-
For ABS: look in the engine bay. at the top right corner there is a device (computer looking thing) that controls abs. For HICAS: look under the rear and if you have a electric motor and stuff there then you have hicas. I thought ER33 was non turbo 33's, ECR33 was for turbo 33s, but not sure.

"stock" is whatever the compliancer fitted. if you had a really dodgy place do the compliance then they would have fitted the cheapest cat that could find (smallest). but yeah 2.5" is normal
-
R31nismoid, cortide isn't a "MCCR guru", he is a mate, and probably doesn't yet know of MCCR's "reputation" because he hans't been on the forums long. that said a few of the mccr guys there were alright to talk to. cortide we lost you after the docklands because my friend couldn't navigate properly...we ended up on the other side of the westgate and then decided we'd just head home lol. have to go cruising together some more.

thanks skyla that was a very intersting read. it backs up what your dyno results showed us: with an auto you get more torque but less power. btw, you made a little typo in your link, this should work http://auto.howstuffworks.com/torque-converter.htm
-
interesting that it had heaps more torque when it was auto, wonder why....?
-
hey skyla, great info, thanks for that. about the 4:3.1 ratio LSD diff you put on, is that the standard diff that comes on manual GTS25's?? (ie the same diff i would have) 450nm of torque is approaching V8 territory, well done thanks

i always leave it until the light comes on, from the first blink of the light i can easily get another 50kms. i average about 10.5L/100km
