I want to remove my hicas. I tried disconnecting it as said above but it still felt the same. I am going to buy a removal kit. As mentioned above you can buy a bar to replace the electrics, or the Tomei lock kit which keeps all the original parts but prevents them from moving. UAS sell both of these items btw. Is the tomei lock kit suitable for R33? thanks Greg

i forgot to add if it is the hicas i wouldn't bother fixing it, just disable it

hey rianto, that is exactly how it feels -- very unstable at the rear when cornering. it wants to oversteer at the slightest excuse. eg i go over a bump - the rear kicks out. drive over a bit of gravel on the road - rear kicks out. i'd hate to see it in the wet. i am just assuming its the hicas because i did the diagnostic and 3 errors came up, but it could quite possibly be the bushes because they are getting pretty old...i hadn't thought of them actually. i might take it to ICE or somewhere and get them to have a look at it. due to my hicas being screwed (very unpredictable handling) i will not be able to make it... it would be unsafe to drive my car in its current state. will have to wait for another time to meet you all cheers greg

is is stamped or cast into the block? we can see a number that is cast into the block, but i don't think this is it because engine numbers are usually stamped. will we need to get the car up on a hoist to see it? thanks

A mate of mine just got an r33, but he can't get a rwc until he can locate the engine serial number. He spent about 2 hours looking for it with no luck. Where is this located? thanks guys!

i just bought a cheap nylon one for $30 from super cheap auto. it's just to keep the dust off because even in the garage my car still gets dusty because i live on a dirt road. it does the job well, but it does warn not to leave the cover on for longer than a week because it will damage the paint....how can a cover damage the paint?? cheers greg

I am about to install splits in my front doors. At the moment with the stock speakers they rattle when the volume is turned up, so with the splits they will only rattle even more. What type of sound deadener should I use? I was looking at some stuff at Jaycar the other day which looked like carpet underlay with a vinyl backing on it, is this the best type to use or would a spray be better? Also, what should I line the inside of my sub box with (its only a 10")? thanks
-
I'll let you know when i install it (will probably do in the next week) The manual says it can do all this. yeah the salesman told me jvc were the best on the market in terms of speed of trach selection etc, but i haven't seen any others operate myself.

I just got a JVC S785 mp3 head unit for $300 for JB hifi in ringwood but i still need to install it before i can tell you how it runs.

i think the first question is asking how the skylines australia site is going (ie www.skylinesaustralia.com homepage) second one is asking what the plans for the site are?

I didn't get a manual with my car when it got complied, i might go for a drive to moorabin and ask Dean about it when i could be bothered. Does anyone know if there is a manual in japanese on the iternet somehwhere that I can download?

I'll start by saying I know sfa about car audio so please excuse me if i ask stupid questions. I have the following: - jvc mp3 h/u - mb quart splits - signat 2 channel amp (2x60watt rms) - pioneer 2 ways for rear fill (run off h/u) - 10" mtx sub (will run 100 - 200 watts rms) I need another amp to run my sub, my options are: - buy another 2 channel and run two amps - sell my current amp and buy a 4 channel Will running two amps drain my battery of power so I won't be able to listen to my system for very long with the engine off? Will I need to upgrade the alternator or anything else? Thanks for you help! Cheers, Greg

oh ok i was under the impression we would be doing the basic car control course because that's what the link pointed to. either way i'll do the courses by myself, i need practice and experience.
-
I'll be in it for sure if they'll let a learner driver do the course (don't see why they shouldn't). That is of course if my car is fixed in time cheers Greg
-
thanks for the reply mate. i was talking about amps, i ended up getting a 2 channel one for cheap so i'll let u know how it is when i hook it up

i think either way with insurance you might be screwed. if you insure as a gtst they will probably find some way of making any claim void. i would just be honest with them and tell them what you have done. either way good luck with the conversion and keep us all updated on how it goes so we can one day follow in your footsteps... lol

Have a look at the attached pic and notice the lights that I circled. When I first got my car I was trying to figure out how to turn these on (I thought they were foglights). I gave up after I tried every switch, and then I realised after an inspection that there weren't any bulbs in them! I want to fit bulbs into this space and I was wondering if anyone has done it? If no one has done it I'll let you guys know how I go when I get around to doing it. cheers
