I'm just paying third party property (not fire and theft) which is costing me $368 throgh just cars. $4700 is ridiculous because its a 1/3 of the cars value! I might try suncorp, what's their number?

I can see your point, but you have to admit that Liberal's entire campaign is based around self-interest. Bracks has done a decent job as far as the economy is concerned in his last term, but anyway my point was that Liberal is just appealing to self interest when they should be looking after state issues such as health care, police, drought relief etc. Sure they will get votes, but it is yet to be seen if they can run the state.

neoGT-25, Yep no worries i'll tell you all about the noise when i get it (4 weeks and counting). I won't bother to dyno it so any power increase I won;t really be able to tell you about. I'm not expecting much, if any power gain - you aren't going to gain much power from the RB25DE unless you turbo it! Yeah that pic you posted is the same type of muffler. What I'm getting is a cat back sytem, so the full exhaust system you were quoted on would presumably include a new cat and a front pipe? Extractors a fu:D You would probably be smarter just to get one custom made locally, and buy a second hand super drager muffler to weld up to it. Are you parents paying for these mods or something, if not how can they stop you from dynoing your car???! $4000 for insurance! Sounds expensive initially, but that is actually pretty good given that you're driving an R34. The best quote I got for my R33 was $4700 and that was with no mods. Your engine makes the same power as the R33, but 25Nm more torque: Max power 147kW @ 6000rpm Max torque 255Nm @ 4000rpm I doubt a pod filter would have increased power much, but I'm sure it makes a cool noise! Cheers and sorry for the long post! Greg

I am getting my HKS super drager from BD4s. I am only paying $1500 so if they are trying to make you pay $2500 they are ripping you off. See my earlier post about this exhaust for pipe sizing etc. BD4's seemed honest enough and I didn't have a problem with placing a 50% deposit. If you want to order a lot of stufff like your Power FC and others it might be worth placing an order through www.takakaira.com or www.perfectrun.com.au because it will probably end up cheaper.

I see this as a desperate attempt by liberal to gain votes. Once/if they get into office they will realise that they can't live without the revenue because the Bracks government has become almost reliant on it in some ways and they would probably just increase the fine amount if you are outside the 10% tolerance... either way if I was over 18 I would vote for Labour because they have overall done a good job in their previous term. my 2c

yeah i'm having the same problem down in melbourne. i figured it was dust from the drought we're having getting caught in the rain and then coming back down with it...

whats the deal with enginering cer????
Greg replied to Dragon18's topic in General Automotive Discussion
yeah I'm interested in this too....would a new exhaust system need an engineer's certificate? air filter? body kit? shift knob...stickers? lol I think they cost about $400, can anyone confirm this? -
You can get a non-turbo version of the A'PEXi N1 which comes with 60mm (2.36") piping and a proper resonator. I don't have any experience with it, but I don't think it would be overly loud. Turbo version would drone like a bitch though, as stated above by meggala and turtle. I've ordered a HKS super drager [65mm piping - 2.55"], which should be arriving from Japan in the next few weeks (damn sea freight). I'll let you know how loud it is.
-
I photoshopped my 'line in an attempt to make it look 'jap' What do you think? I will probably get the tinting, lowering (and stickers ) done, but I dunno about the rims... a bit pricey I'm thinking
-
you say 'jap' like its a bad thing
-
my r33 has this 'cup holder' thing too, I just put my phone in there
-
You forgot a "type-r" sticker, one of those fake blow off valves for N/A cars, fake fuel filler, oh and of course the 'sik' wheel lights I don't want rice!!! I just want to make it look more 'oriental'....LOL I don't think some people understand what I mean by that I like the cup holder in the air vent idea, you see that on heaps of jap cars!!
-
Agreed, I need a turbo
-
Ok at the moment my 'line is dead stock in terms of rice.... and by spending as little as possible, I want to give it that "Japanese" look. I'm not after "pure rice" and I don't want to cover the car in stickers, I just want something to give it a little extra street credit :headbang: All the skylines in Japan that I see on the net look kind of different from the ones you see here, so what do they do that we don't? I have so far thought of the following: - super dark tinting - jap brand body kit (too expensive for me though) Got any suggestions?

post some pics?

is the sub DVC?
-
What do you guys think of Signat? Good quality?
-
I think I'll get another quote now that i know they have non turbo's on their system. the operator i spoke to must have been a fool...some people are so ignorant when it comes to imports
-
your age might have something to do with it?? The $200 I was told is just what the guy I was speaking to pulled from his head -- he didn't actually do a proper quote based on those mods.
-
I was ringing around for quotes the other day and RACV wanted $7000 off me to insure my non turbo r33 -- this was based on a turbo r33 though because they didn't have the non turbo model in their system. I was surprised they gave me a quote at all actually. Just Cars were almost as bad at $4700. It was an extra $200 if I put an exhaust system on, and another $200 for air filter. Needless to say I am taking out third party property cover for $368 with Just Cars until I accumulate a decent rating BTW, I'm 17 with no motoring offences and no insurance record. cheers greg

I'm after a workshop manual and owners handbook for my R33. Japanese is fine, english preferable... does anyone know where I can get this for free (ie on the net) ???? cheers Greg
