  1. Bondi? Broadway Shopping Centre?! Man this is where I live!!! I was hoping it would be cool around the Eastern Suburbs?! Looks like I am in for one nasty ride now that I own a Skyline. But 2 friends of mine who have Alfa Romeo's have also had shit happen to them. One guy had his bonnet keyed. Badly. And another guy has had his tyres slashed. Both Eastrn Suburbs.
  2. Duncan, NOT having a go at you mate but it would be great if you were to tell us why you found the greenstuff pads dissapointing? Constructive crit goes a long way on a forum. I've been on other forums before, non skyline related, and many forums are the same. Even when you search for help you get a lot of threads which contain a lot of posts but almost confuse you more than clear anything up for you afterwards!!!
  3. I have had them on my Alfa Romeo with matching EBC Turbo rotors (grooved and drilled, but not drilled all the way through for strength) for about 2-3 months now and have taken them on track only once but whenever I get a chance to let a friend drive the car I always get them to floor the brakes at speed to show off how great the brakes are. They are unbelievable! So gerat that the ABS doesn't even kick in unless it's really provoked. I am not sure how worn they are, although when I installed them they were rubbin on the rotors, even without braking and this went away after my track day so I assume I have worn them down some. I'm looking forward to getting them for my GT-R too. The brakes on my Alfa are so much better, feel better, more progressive than the brakes on my R32 GT-R.
  4. I recommend EBC green stuff pads. They're fantastic! So much punchier than my stock brakes were and no brake dust, well, in comparisson to stock brakes... less cleaning of mags wheels.
  5. The pivot shift lamp, with the super tiniy small light which you can mount next to your wheel looks super sexy but it's not accurate. It's just fun.. for a while. I got mine from Autospeed.com, they're Australian and cheap and easy to deal with. I had it installed for a track day and decided it was crap though, just not accurate enough, different on different days!!!! So I sold it cheap.
  6. I have used spacers in the past with great results. The car felt much more stable in corners too. Just be sure to get HUB CENTRIC spacers. These are designed with an extra little lip which make them safe to use. The spacers I bought were very expensive, german H&R hub centric 15mm fronts and 20mm rear. Car looks fat!
  7. Cmon gunmetal grey is what NISSAN promoted most.
  8. I bought some and then returned the product after doing a lot of research on it. Basically it works. You can pretty much touch the manifold by hand after you have done 20 laps of a track and you will not get burnt (if you touched it without the wrap you'd get a nasty injury!!!). They wrap stuff in race cars all the time. It does work but it will wear out your parts a lot quicker. The wrap keeps the heat in, thus after your car is turned off, the heat doesn't go away... ie: your manifolds etc are still hot and will stay that way for ages. Thus more stress. Read the fine print on many exhaust manufacturers sites/documentation: they will not cover (warranty) their products if they are wrapped in heat wrap. Ask people who work at exhaust shops too. eg: Ask Lambros at High Tech mufflers and he will be the 1st to tell you that heat wrap will destroy your manifold quickly via cracks.

    Battles?

    I'm in!
  11. OK here's my photoshop response
  12. Does anyone in SYDNEY have coilovers for an R32 GT-R around? Has to be in perfect condition otherwise I am not interested. Cheers.
  13. Aren't shopping centres suuuper packed though? Like, how could they do this in front of the billions of people looking for a park?! Question: For those of you who do have locknuts on your wheels. Surely you all keep the damn locknut in your boot? Or glove box? Isn't that just a little silly? They break in, find the lug and then they can still steal your wheels?
  14. I thought I wasn't so into the R33's shape but damn that looks amazing. Do many guys with R33 GT-R's fit this 400's body kit? IE: Many manufacturers out there making copy kits?
  15. Looks like a hellovalottafun! Eastern Creek rocks out doesn't it? I love that place. Here's a photo of me, at the Creek in my soon to be sold (as I now own an R32 GT-R) Alfa.
  16. Surely changing exhaust is legal? I mean, you go and get a stainless exhaust from Midas and you're changing your exhaust, yet of-course it's legal? PODS are another thing all together. I have a POD, custom one made for me on my little Alfa 147. I've positioned it pretty down low, not so low that it's going to suck up water on a wet day, but low enough for it to get a lot of cool air to it (IE far away from the manifold/engine). AND WOW! It sounds absolutely amazing. Growling, low rumbling noise on open throttle. It sounds better than my newly aquired R32 GT-R!!! Easily, the Alfa is a noisy little revvy car. I am so tempted to whack a pair of K&N pods on the GT-R but I'm not going to do it Keeping this baby stock.
  17. Well it was fixed for $370. Expensive! But I'll live
  18. Hi guys, I've just had the mechanic that passed my car (my new R32 GT-R tell me that there's an oil leak between the engine and the gearbox. Is this a common problem? He says to fix it properly he has to take the gearbox out! But he can fix it quickly tghrough the sump?! All jargon to me. I don't want to be ripped off, so how much should I be paying to fix this leak? A rough figure. Thanks in advance guys.
  19. It passed blue slip today! WHOOT!
  20. C'mon guys surely there are some members here who live around the Eastern Suburbs and knows a decent mechanic? I too am in the Eastern Suburbs and refuse to use C&V Performance. Any other suggestions?
  21. OK this is really wierd. Same set of stickers on both sides of the car but one side there's topcoat on top of the damn stickers. I used the hairdryer method for all other stickers and they've all come off nicely, cheers guys. It's just three big stickers down one side that are under the clearcoat now. NOW: IF I wanted to take these off what can I do? Get any old body shop to sand and then respray the entire rear 1/4 panel? How much would I be looking at for this? About $400?
  22. I got it done on my little Alfa 147. I used to scrape the driveway badly some days, and not at all on other days. With nitro in the tyres I never scrape every single day now (it's been 5months on nitro, never needed a top up). So there's proof of consistency as on hot days my tyres would inflate, and thus get into the driveway without scraping, on cold days I would scrape like mad. Also noticed a gummier feeling all round.
  23. Why would someone put clear coat over stickers?!!!!!!!!!!!! That's NUTS surely?!
  24. Cheers guys! Hairdryer (my flatmate's of-course. lol) it is.
  25. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to take stickers off the bodywork? On rear 1/4 panels and bumpers (I have a line/list of 3 logos/stickers on each side)? Some of them look as if they're under the paint?! Thanks in advance for any info in this.
