My Trueno (warning 56K 6 Pictures)

That's so sweet. I really wanted one of these earlier in the year. There's one here: http://www.c-red.com.au/stock/ae/index.shtml Looks pretty good. I just couldn't justify the cost in the end of the day. -
Cheers pentae! Yep it hasn't been long since I've been on these forums. But I always have loved Japanese cars. The Alfa has been another world for sure and the gearbox on it, the Selespeed clutchless manual is just amazing in comparisson to a "tiptronic" which really is just a full automatic gearbox in disguise. The Alfa 147GTA, with 250hp, a V6 engine and fatter, wider body comes out with the Ferarri 360 Modena clutchless manual gearbox in February! It's going to cost about $75k!!!! But I am still considering trading my normal little Alfa 147 in for it. How I come up with the money I don't know! But I don't want the R32 GT-R to be my daily driver. I will be taking it out to Eastern Creek for sure. The GT-R is in for inspection today. I find out tomorrow whether it passes or not! If it passes it's all mine! MUAHAHAHAHA! I am pretty excited!

The windshield on the R32 slopes more than the R33's upright looking windshield. The small factory wheels on the R32 GTR somehow look so damn awesome on the car. The fact that the R32 GTR is the original bad boy. Godzilla. It's like The MATRIX vs Matrix 2 and 3 to me. I want a real race car. Not a daily driver. I have done so much damn research on these cars. Much thanks to these forums. I have read elsewhere that the R33GTR is a better drive. But in the end, after looking long and hard at an R34T-T. I am going for what feels like the top of the range, the real thing. The beast growling below in my garage begging me to take it to Eastern Creek. The R32 GT-R. She's going to be mine. Litterally. Any day now. Looking forward to posting some more in this forum guys. My Alfa takes a bow, she'll do anything mr GT-R tells her to do or he'll just slap her one!

R34 GT-T - What is this body kit?!!!!!
justinfox replied to justinfox's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Cheers Franky for the info. So since you're going to add another inch to your front bar I assume you're not having clearance problems with this carmate bar? That's great. Perfect! And that front lip. It looks like it's just stuck on there. I am in the proecss of contacting the owner of that vehicle above. He lives in Hong Kong. It may be custom made? It makes the car look a LOT better IMHO. I will keep at it. -

Who's this Frankie Lee guy?! That's it! Minus the little front bonnet lip! (which may be custom made?). It's not the East Bear but cheers for the link and leeds guys. Getting there. -
Hi all, I've found IT! I have found THE front bar that I like best on an R34 GT-T. Here it is: If you look closely, there's also a little "lip" piece that extends the bonnet. Making it look meaner. Now, bugger if I can find what front bar this is. I have looked all over the place. Everywhere. I can't even find another Skyline with this front bar. I have done enough research to know that he's got IMPUL sideskirts on it. I like them too. In fact I love this car. I even love the subtle decals on the side. I want one! If I can get this front bar + lip extension (any ideas what it may be?!) + sideskirts I am definitely buying an R34 GT-T.

SS8: Hmm. Cheers for the info. I'm quite surprised no one has done it yet. It musn't be so easy. RedLineGTR: These kits your are reffering to, for the GT-T. Which ones are they? For a car which is so popular I am actually amazed at how few kits there are for the GT-T (say, in comparsson to a Honda civic for example). I agree that a GT-T is a GT-T. It's not as pumped up as the GTR. And I can't seem to find anyone making a widebody like kit for the GT-T.

Hi peeps. I am still in the market for a new car. I've been spoilt with my Alfa147. I have been looking at a few Euro cars but I am still considering an R34 GT-T. I love the front face/bar of the GTR. It looks so mean. Is there any way I could convert the front of a GT-T to the same or similar look of the GTR? Any help appreciated (even if it was original parts from Japan... I am happy to pay up to $5k for it.

Hi guys. Here's one for the mathematical/technical peeps out there. I just dyno tested my little Alfa Romeo for the fun of it. She's reading 78.8kw at the front wheels. Hahah, so small in comparison to your cars (thus I am still hunting for a Skyline!). But how do I calculate 78.8kw at the wheels to how much power I have at the engine/crank? Any help appreciated. Here's a pick of her on the day:

Hi all, What's the purpose of the big ugly plastic engine cover in the engine bay? Is it just to hide the even uglier engine underneath? Protect the spark plugs? Heat insulation? Would it be OK if I took it off?

About to buy an r34 tiptronic
justinfox replied to justinfox's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ah cool. Makes sense. Maybe that was the ugly thing mounted on top of the steering wheel, blocking my view of the instrument panel, then. -

I don't get it? -
Great thread and I agree with so many points here. I am about to buy an r34 skyline and when I took one earlier this week for a test drive I couldn't even really get it into 3rd gear. The sales guy actually told me to try to keep a watch on the speedo and damn I was speeding.. again and again during what was a pretty short test drive without knowing it. The car just feels so stable at speed (in a straight line) and it gets to 80 damn quick. I also freaked out when I put a little too much accelerator on (I could have sworn I didn't put on much at all) and the rear just slid out! Sure it looked cool. Sure it felt cool. Sure if I got one I would do it again and again and probably finally get busted, or smack the car into another car doing it. I love driving my little Alfa 147 hard (not so fast but the feeling of throwing it into corners without needing to brake before them is great). It's naturally a revvy machine. And when I hop into my sister's little civic I have just as much, if not more fun as it's so easy to drive and you can really throw the crap out of it into a corner and the car will really let you know it's limits: ie: it's never scary. But alas. I have always wanted a Turbo car. So far. After going through this Forum (great one BTW) I'm scared of: A) The image that comes with a Skyline (I'd hate to draw any more attention to the cops in general). B) The stories I have heard of people wanting to steal them.
-
Coming from someone who has never owned a turbo car (YET). I have to say that everytime I hear it (BOV) I love it and feel jealous and it makes me really want a Turbo. When I get my Turbo I will have to put a BOV on it. Perhaps an adjustable one. To me it's similar to preferring the look of the 911 rear with the "Turbo" badge over the 911 rear without it! LOL.

About to buy an r34 tiptronic
justinfox replied to justinfox's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey thanks again guys. I am surprised there's not THAT much content online about these cars. I have been searching for info all day. I would have just gotten the NRMA to check the car but if anyone knows of a mechanic that would check it in Sydney please let me know. The R34 at Japlink was the one I had tested. It had clocked up over 70,000km's. The only strange thing with it was that when I turned the car off and took the keys out the engine was still ON!!! Strange?! Perhaps something to do with the way they jump started the car? Does anyone here have any info on whether or not Japlink are good guys? They're pretty close to me and seem to have a pretty good workshop there. I am booked in to test drive the tiptronic at Power Play next week. It's black, which is more me. But it's a lot more at $38k. Too much really but it's only done 40something k's and I'm sure I can bargain them down some. -

Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like I will have to test another one asap, whilst the memory is still fresh. I wonder if a dealer would let me somehow dyno test the car before purchase? That would surely be a good way to see whether the car is screwed or not? I am still pretty scared of buying a lemon! I will call Powerplay imports and suss that one out.
