  4. Thanks for that Richard. I know there's nothing wrong with the build now as I am making power but it's the tune that's not right. I will be re-tuning again perhaps this week hopefully. Will report back ASAP.
  5. Back up for sale. Sale dropped through because buyer changed his mind and wants to go 3inch. To answer some PMs: No expiry date is set on these. I have no idea if they are FIA approved or not but I assume so as Garry Motorsports who sold them to me are race specialists. Also. I have packed them all up and realised one eyelet bolt is missing. I called Revolution Racegear, they have heaps in stock for $10 each. So price reduced to $140!

  7. I have an as new Apexi BLACK Auto Turbo Timer (For TURBO and NA) for sale (cooler than the usual silver ones!). I just bought it, installed it on the EVO but it interferes with my alarm system (IE: the car stays on. I lock the doors then when the turbo timer stops it unlocks the doors which forces me to stay with the car while the turbo timer is active). Bought it from IS Motor Racing a month ago, they installed it behind the dash so it's never seen the sun at all, they also took it out for me today. Details: # Pen shaped, compact size makes the Auto Timer one of the smallest turbo timers in the world. # Enables a clean and stylish installation virtually anywhere inside the car. # The unique multi angle joystick button allows easy navigation through the features. # Automatically determine the necessary amount of after idling time. # OR Manual Mode allows the user to preset desired idling times from 0 sec.~10 minutes in 16 increments. # By inputting O2 sensor voltage, the Timer can also display theoretical air fuel ratio. # Also display critical data such as O2 sensor voltage and Battery Voltage. # The handbrake safety feature shuts off the vehicle when the handbrake is released without the ignition key.   8. Just an UPDATE everyone. It was the boost controller! Wasn't set up right. Wheeeee!!! Much more response, a whole lot smoother on boost too. Now to take it to the track again! Shame it's so damn hot at the moment.
  9. I have 2 sets of these for sale and I will not split them up. SCHROTH (http://www.schroth.com/) Safety Products are used by Holden Racing Team, Larry Perkins, Russell Ingall, Ford Tickford Racing. Sparco harnesses are made by SCROTH. So too the ones in the Renault F1 cars - One Rallye Cross ASM, one Rallye 4 ASM. - Full instructions, eyelet bolts included + boxes too - Both bought at the same time (2 years ago) from www.gmpracingproducts.com.au - One of them is a unique design which allows you to quick release the harness easily to allow passengers to get into the rear seat quickly without having to undo the harness. - 2inch. Some pics: Wrong pic (this one shown is a bolt in harness). I have the quick release version which uses eyelets so you can completely remove the harness easily at any time. In the car. Specs: 4-Point Static harness belt. The individual shoulder straps eliminate the separation buckle allowing either wrap mount installation to a harnessbar or bold mount to rear seat lap belt anchorages. Shoulder and lap belts: 50mm (2") wide webbing. Single push-button buckle for connection and release. Clean condition, comes with full eyelets set. Not damaged at all in any way or form. In Sydney eastern suburbs. Can send them if I have to via. courier. You pay shipping though ($20). Asking $150 for the pair.
  10. Done the whole car before. You need a special pink glass polishing paste available from most good hardware stores and some very fine grade steel wool. Easy done. Easy peasy.
  11. How's this guys. I just replace the light switch with a brand new one from Nissan and my drivers side headlight still will not come on until I switch the switch on and off about 4-5 times!!! (then it does come on and stay on). The left (passenger) side light comes on every time but the drivers side only when I've fiddled with turning the switch on and off. Wasn't a problem with normal globes, but is a problem now with a HID kit installed.
  12. Wheels are WORK MEISTERS. Lip on the purple one is actually a front diffuser made by Abflug. Made in carbon fibre. The diffuser on the white one up top looks custom to me.
  13. I did a little research last night on GT-R's in hyper rev magazine (GT-R's built by Japanese performance shops, eg: Mines GT-R, Top Secret GT-R etc). Not one single GT-R featured in the entire magazine runs an AVCR. It was split pretty even between the Blitz boost controller and the HKS one. Interesting... I've booked in with Brad from Westside to remove my cat next week, which was installed at High-Tech mufflers (but not by Lambros), it's a high flow, but they really had to cut it up to get it to fit and it could potentially be a weak link as the exhaust is new, headers, all other pipes are new. After that I'll look into the AVCR. Again, thanks guys. Heaps of help!
  14. PS: Thanks so much for the input Paul. Coming from you (and Jim) and the stuff that Indy told me today about the AVCR, that makes a lot of sense and seems like a direction worth stepping in.
  15. Yes I have spoken to my mechanic about it (Indy) and yes we're going to look into the AVCR and even another tune. All good. I'm in no rush as I am sure we'll get it right eventually.
  16. You know how it is guys, loyalty, egos, client and mechanic relationships. It's all in the mix here and treading carefully is high on the list of priorities for me as I don't want to upset anyone, but yes I also want my GT-R to be right so it's looking like I gotta do what I gotta do.   17. AVCR settings, no idea. Power FC ecu. Blitz - CRD would for sure sort it out. I totally agree. Looks like I have to find a tuner and forget the "warranty".
  18. That's all I got dyno sheet wise. It's on 1.2bar. Exhaust is fine (HKS manifolds, piping kit, front/dump, high flow cat + Kakimoto Regu96 all the way back). Boost is controlled via AVCR. I would love to get someone else to tune it but that will definitely void my warranty on the engine as currentlky the builder is the tuner. Looks like I'm in a situation then huh?

  21. Hi guys, I have a fully rebuilt RB26 in an R32 GT-R. GT-SS turbos, HKS everything else (manifolds, pipes, pistons, rods) + Tomei poncams. As you've guessed from the above, the car is built for response. I took it out on track yesterday (Wakefield) and damn it's laggy. Boost starts kicking in at 4500rpm. Is this normal? I also drive an EVO 6.5 dead stock and that kicks the boost in at 3000rpm. I know I shouldn't be comparing the GT-R to the EVO. But I just wanted to know whether or not full boost at 4500rpm is normal?! Maybe it's more about the car being so slow off boost. It's ridiculous, slower than a Barina off boost!!! Any suggestions, feedback, opinions, all appreciated. Thanks. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE 29/NOV. It was the boost controller! Wasn't set up right. Wheeeee!!!   22. You do know the V35's oil patch on the braking point on the back straight caused major dramas? I came off hard there and scratched a rim, the WRX went into the Marshalls booth, the Clio almost hit the wall and the MX-5 and EVO slid into pitt lane!!! All in a row, like dominos!!! My GT-R still isn't sorted, so laggy but was doing 1.11's.
