The new ADR rules of +10% only applies to new cars complied as new cars. It doesn't apply to any older cars, it doesn't apply to used imports, a car may be tested to have a speedo 3% higher than actual speed when new, give it 10 years and the speedo can go either way, no matter if the car is a Hyundai or an R35. Digital speedos arn't any better either.

Just for the record, I bought the R35 as a daily, as my example turned out to be a lemon, I bought the cayman as a daily to replace the r35. It isn't anywhere as quick, but Atleast it gets me from a to b, fits into car spaces easily, not worried of it getting damaged. I have learnt to accept the looks, just as I learnt to accept the R35 looks. And I can not use my other cars as daily drivers. For starters some are not road legal, not enough clearance to get over speed humps, or I'd be crazy to park them at the shops to do grocery shopping with. I wanted to reveal my collection to fellow enthusiasts, but looking at how other exotic and super car owners have been crucified on here, I wouldn't dare open that can of worms.

I have driven and owned a 996 gt2, it was tail happy in the wet (just like All rear wheeled cars). Besides you are comparing a 2000-2005 model (technology from 1999) vehicle to a new r35 ( with technology from 2007). Nearly a decade difference. 996 should be compared to the r34 gtr. 997 should be compared to the R35. That is like saying a 2011 Holden commodore ss is better than a 1980's testarosa.... Don't mention the quantum leaps in technology. Gt2 has a roll cage and those other safety equipment as it is a registered track car and a road legal car. Once certain speeds and times are reached, you need to put a roll cage in anyway to be able to keep racing on Australian track events. Some advice, read and google way before you press the post button or every post you make will be disregarded, even if you are right.

What are you on about? Did you miss that I own a series 2? It may do more things better than most of the other cars, but it depends on the individual person and what they want out of a car. Some people only care about how they look at the local cafe. Some just do burnouts and Hoon, some track, some daily drive, some are weekend cars, some drift, some are cost conscience, some don't care about money, some are brand/model passionate etc... Reliability with my personal experience says the japs have no idea what they are doing. I have had a transmission changed (stranded for 2 hours, wouldn't engage any gear) my entire entertainment system changed (as it started melting and nearly made the car catch fire) and a seatbelt return mechanism was stuck. All fixed by warranty, but what a waste of time especially as the car has been sitting in the Nissan garage more than in my possession. I have always been a fan of the GTR, I own an Australian delivered R32. If only they made the current gtr like they used to. How do you mean the gt2 is a death trap? I love how a roll cage, racing harness and fire extinguisher make a car unsafe??? I hope when your series 3 arrives, you have more problems than what I did. Maybe you should go get the mclaren. Relax with the R35 better than the rest crap, go out and drive some cars is all I can say. I have a 2010 R35 and I lurk here every now and then. It is a great car for the money, there are still better cars out there but you pay more for them and it depends in what you want from a car. If you want looks then don't get an R35, if you want reliability don't get an R35 ( I keep having issues and finally Nissan is ordering a transmission for me, my navigation/multimedia unit sometimes works, sometimes doesn't). If you like to pose to euros about your 0-100 times and 60ft launch times then get an R35, but then they get back by saying "what about your 60-160 times? " If you can afford something better, then get it, if you can't then you are stuck with these, although they are not bad, they are not great either and only kids and hoons seem to appreciate them unless you are at an owners meet. I have never had a random breath test in anything other than the R35 which I have been singled out 3 times since owning it (no fines). 0-100 times are not what car guys care about, ofcorse an R35 is going to have a good 0-100 time, it is awd and geared for it, japs are facinated about 0-100 times and 60 ft launch times. And yes it has an awesome 0-100 time for the money you spend. I am glad I have owned an R35, but when I sell it I won't miss it. It doesn't excite me like other cars and bikes do. An MX5 excites me more. I am currently looking for a new car to replace the R35, Series 3 sounds good, but do I want to do it again? Probably not. In regards to being the fastest. If it was a pothole there would be evidence of the rim hitting the road, that would void warranty and the QLD dealer wouldn't bother asking Melbourne for a warranty job. For the tyre place and dealer not to mention anything like it has hit a pothole, then it really shouldn't have cracked. There is no excuse for the standard rim to crack if the rim it self didn't make contact with the road. With these wheels being made in batches of hundreds at a time and with the fact that these cars are likely to get abused in their lifetime, I doubt this is the end of the story of R35 wheels cracking.

I just thought this was a bit of a stupid paragraph, I think it is stupid to suggest Eric could have avoided it, even if he knew the car was going straight for him i doubt he would have been in the right gear to give enough power to avoid the incident. People ask me all the time why I don't take my cars on track days with cars that arn't exotics.... simply because the other guy in his "300zx" doesn't give a shit about your car and isn't legally obliged to contribute to repairs he causes to other cars, and for one reason or another may even intentionally hit you because of the car you drive. I don't trust Labor or Libral, what I do trust is the Family First party, although their preferences go to Libral (which is the lesser of two evils), at least Family First actually stand up for the average Australian and keeps both of the two major parties in check as much as they can with their small numbers in parliament. They have family and Christian orientated values, but at least they don't actively exclude homosexuals, Muslims, Hindu's, law breakers, divorcees, alcoholics etc.... as being Australians like the Christian Democratic Party (CDP) does. I used to vote for the CDP but with their 100% closed minded extremist belief that only Christians and their ways are the only way no exceptions, I thought that would actually be detrimental to the country, especially since Australia is made up of people of every race and religion and even sexual orientation despite what CDP as an individual thinks is right. I have turned to Family First for a couple of main reasons. 1: They have Christian/Family values (values that all religions share and values that I think help society) 2: They accept everyone as being important, not just the rich elite or the Sunday Church goers unlike some other parties. 3: They are not scared to speak up in parliment when something un-just has occured to Australians (eg: the revenue raising on our roads without putting that money back into road education and improvements of roads). Ferrari isn't going smaller displacement with a turbo, they are adding a turbo to their standard engines once they get rid of every single bit of turbo lag, It should be out in the "new Enzo" comming out in 2 years (i cant remember the name of the actual car that is being developed), they said something like electric motors may be used to keep the turbos spooled up at all times for instant acceleration that ferrari is known for
